We are only a year apart. after watching you I dont feel bad. I could not do what you do anymore? More power to you!! 😊
Thanks and thank you for watching
Needs to be in High Range to pull start. It's definitely in low range, that's why one wheel is spinning backwards.
Guess they never push started a motorcycle to figure that out you can tell by the bellies they’ve sit a bunch of time !!!
@@jsimm4587because they WORKED
I like tractors. It's a shame the way people "DON'T" take care of their stuff. I wasn't raised that way. Keep up the good work !
With the fuel lines plugged up as they were, the fuel pump probably needs a total clean.
That old Massey doesn't want to start, i think it could be a compression problem. Excellent video Wiley 👍
Thanks 👍
"What the heck - I'll go back to doin it the way I always done it." Made me laugh out loud, ty! Sounded exactly like me & I been there, done that :)
Good to See You Wiley, Damned Good to be Here!
Wily you are Awesome to watch I learn a lot from you !!!! Keep up the Amazing work 😊😊
Thank you
Blow air into the fuel cap and open every up then you got all the air out. Have one just like it.
Don't be Wally I hope he can get it going Hank what you think brother let's say a little prayer 🙏 for don't be Wally 🙏 love you'll guy's God bless you'll.
Thank you
Great video thanks Wylie great job
Thanks
You have a double clutch. Need to clear the implement gear before you can pull start. Then put in high 3 or4 and pull
My uncle loved them tractor 🚜
Now days kids wouldnt clean it they would order another!!!!
Mr. Wiley, you may be right about the stuck ring, but these Perkins engines are notoriously difficult to bleed the air out of. I didn't catch if that was a three cylinder or four, but I fought the three cylinder on my welder for several hours before it finally got enough air out to run. It had sat for many years when I acquired it, though it wasn't plugged to the degree this one was. I was ready to throw in the towel and have the injection pump rebuilt. The four cylinder in my uncle's Massey 165 gets cranky just changing the fuel filter.
Best thing to do is leave the filter loose and pump that primer unti fuel runs out, then open the line at the injector pump, then prime some more. Then open the two bleeder screws on the pump and prime some more. Only then do you open the lines at the injectors and start cranking. If it has an injector and heater on the intake, activate it as well.
Another thing they are notorious for is fuel leaks on the injection pump. If it leaks fuel at the pump, it's also sucking air at the pump.
Lol. I know what you mean about throwing in the towel
Thank you for sharing that info
We may go back to it and try again
You gave it a good shot Wiley may be you will think of something else latter and you will get it going
You just never know why this old equipment was parked..and it's not so easy sometimes to get it sorted out and running...you have it a great attempt..but in this instance I think this ones got a bit more issues. Always great to watch you and Jacob wrenching on this old iron. Truly appreciate all you do and share.😎🚜😇🛠️🇺🇸🔧
Your so right. Sometimes we don’t know why it was parked. This Gentleman passed away a few months back
Thank you
@@DontbeWily nice mf130 and John deere
Hey Wily, stay cool
Keep up the great work, Wiley 👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Very good job at try and God bless y'all
Thank you
Nice work.
Good Afternoon Sir , it is 1:05 pm my time here in AZ! Good luck with the tractor and have a wonderful day today Sir 😊 !
Thanks, you too!
clogged like a smokers arteries ouch. I love your video's Wiley please keep them going !!! 🙂
“Smokers arteries”LOL
Thanks for watching
Great video i like the tractor videos. Stay hydrated out there man
Thanks! Will do!
Great job 👏you gave it your best.. but I think the transfer case is in low…
Thinks Wily, of my 60 years the best advice I can give on buying used tractors is be aware of fresh paint. I've seen tractors with fresh paint over inches of grease
Central California watching
Thanks for sharing and thank you for watching
Willey I wish I could come and ya out, I've been wrenching for over 50 years now, legs and hips are shot, sure miss what your up too!
Another great video matey
Thanks 👍
That's okay brother it's real love your videos
Thank you
Damn!! I ain't seen one o' them since @ 1973 . . .
Keep at it
I had an old gray Ferguson pto you would start it on petrol and run it till it warmed up then turn fuel tap to main tank that had paraffin in it. The exhaust use to get extremely hot when ploughing with the two furrow plough sometime it would get a flame out the top or it would cough and shoot a flame. Loved that little tractor it was so handy not the biggest power house but it never failed to start no matter the weather.
Thanks for sharing
I worked Perkins for years we always bled them up to the injector's even removing the injector's reconnecting them so we could see the fuel atomizing, a ultrasonic cleaner is a great help cleang old blocked fuel system parts.
Thanks for sharing and watching
love your vids
Thank you
Wiley, you tried, buddy. I appreciate the videos buddy appreciate you
Thank you
Get yourself a set of torch tip cleaners. Cheep and thay will pay fore themselves. 😊
I like what you do with Hank
I saw the PTO spinning as ya'll were initially trying to crank it. Maybe it has some kind of safety interlock....I don't know. Disengaging the PTO might have worked. Or it could just have transmission issues. Ya'll gave it a good effort! 👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing, Wily, Jacob and Hank!
Thanks and thanks for watching
hey wily stop the drive shaft on the back and the tractor will start better lol
There's a screen in the front of the pump. Good compression because she's banging like hell with the meter. To build compression trickle oil into the intake when the engine is turning.
Thanks for sharing this information and watching
Great videos sir
Thank you
I've never seen diesel gum up like that either. Not that bad
rocking chair and newspaper next !
Hi, from Dominican repúblic 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴 happy night
Hi Gear , Start , LOW Gear ok from NZ go Wily love the show
Thank you
Wiley, I think there’s definitely something wrong with that transmission, otherwise you would have had it running, can’t win ‘em all
Your still the man Wiley👍👍🍮🍮😎😎
If we go back to it thats the first thing i am going to check out.
Thanks for watching
Thank you
Transmission was probably on low gear. Engine should rotate on high gear and 4th speed.
I went for a walk a while back and took what I thought were some pictures. With my phone, of the lake, I walked past and stuff. I couldn't see the screen real good because of the sun.
Got home, and it turned out I had heaps of pics of my ugly old head...phone was set to self-portrait. So I get you with the filming in reverse, lol.
Lol
Thanks for sharing
Hi wily, I think your right low compression is issue , maybe valve clearances? Or piston rings stuck or heavy glazing on bores,, rinse thru kerosene gas down boars , soak then blow dry with air , so fumes won't cause heavy detonation when starting, cranking it over by hand and soaking , if you get it fired up run it almost full revs and let windex powder or spraying it idraw in thru air intake, heard this worked real well at de glazed of bores and freeing up stuck rings , works great on old cat diesels that had been idle to long instead of working flat out like designed and tested on dyno
Thanks for sharing And watching
@@DontbeWily howdy Wily , I,m Phil from Australia and I just admire your cool calm an collected way you work , a serious yet full of personality nature, your family is very privileged to have you and maybe you to have them , I,ve learned so much of you , whether it be learning mechanical or expanding my own personality with a little bit of yours , let's say that guys your age are not so popular on UA-cam, well their around but not heavily followed or adored by many as you are Wily, truest demonstrated version of a gentleman, now that's what you are to me , cheers mate from Australia 🇦🇺
Somnium tractors got hell PTO in for the clutch for the lift will work
sounds like a rod knocking when its cranking.... good battery there.... dont get too hot, Wiley
Hank shows up on all works done. lol 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for another great video Wiley.
Think that tractor is not wanting to run.
Sounds like it has some compression problems. The engine seems to have zero compression. Also a loud knocking noise when you turn it over. Don’t know what that is.
Your transmission seems to have problems also. The rear tires would not turn around when you popped the clutch. Acts like it is locked up.
Got some real problems there Wiley. That one may be done for. Lots of problems I think.
Thanks for everything Wiley.
Hang in there.
The Iowa farm boy.
If we go back, the transmission will be the starting point. Thank you for sharing
I think the transmission will be the starting point of we go back to it
Thank you for sharing and watching
Well that was a waste of time, thanks 👍 for sharing I guess 😅.
. Thanks for watching. I tried a warning in the title about crying UNCLE
Excellent video Wiley :) funny part a 1976 Massey Ferguson Combine #505 had 6 cylinder motor Perkins was worst ever work on because fuel filter clogged up also Glow Plug in housing dirty to would work and fuel plug all injection pump also injectors to tight! Yes costly fix also motor had not turn over or started up for 30 years Perkins 6 in 1975 Dodge D350 Extended van with Truck Transmission 5 speed Manual transmission floor shifter Creeper speed on First gear as Bow Low too a Late Cousin of mine building as camper van in 1985 ! Yes was Late Cousin was mechanic plus ran John Deere tractor dealer in my area for years with his older brother Ken and his middle brother Bill was super mechanic before past away! He help anyone before went blind could work no more 10 years died! But love teaching anyone want know how fix or try out ! He taught me in lots stuff too Wiley and enjoy too always me Lol too! Last I know have Range gear in H for High and gear top be 4 or 5 too ! Plus need Key ignition in 1 postion be 1:00 clock postion and have glow plugs on 30 seconds need to warm to!
Thanks for sharing and watching
Nothing like the taste of diesel in the morning 😅
Lol. Nothing. At least it don’t chap you lips like gas
@@DontbeWily right
I think 🤔 you can get it to run 🏃
Rig you a garden sprayer to prime with and troubleshoot fuel problems
I actually went to tractor supply to buy a marine tank and a inline primer pump but i will go with your suggestion next time
Thanks for sharing
Looks almost like Gel when they Freeze up back Home
You have to put in high gear and use the clutch to get it started.
your pto is on u need switch it off put it in high gear 4 and release your clutch very slowly not in one hit did u check also the injectors self? take them out? they are extreme sensitive for bit of dirt
French buildt Ferguson's are always hard to start.
Don't like that knocking sound when you turn it over.
PTO shaft might be bad, moving up and down when turning.
The fuel draining is probably coming from the injector return and pump return lines the the tractors tank
That's your good old soy diesel for you! Good luck on getting that 2 inches of muck out of the tank! Should be outlawed!
The shutoff linkage is stuck in the off position inside the injection pump. I'll pull a small bit of fuel out but not nearly enough. Extremly common for that pump. Gets people all the time. To fix it just remove the top cover from the injection pump and wiggle the stop linkage back and forth to free up from sitting. Reinstall cover and i'll fire right up.
Thanks for sharing
I am going to look at that
I think it was where it was low range
I haven’t read all the comments being made but I can tell by personal experience with my Massey Ferguson that if you’re going to pull it off it needs to be in third and fourth gear Low range aside will do fine. I can’t understand. Maybe it was just the gunk built up in the Pistons or maybe the valves weren’t opening and closing as they should. I’m not sure. It seems like it would’ve fired over though hadn’t had enough compression..
I really thought with me spinning the engine while pulling , it would have worked.
Thanks for sharing and watching
Sounds like those axles have been put in the wrong sides of the rear end of that tractor to me.,or that gear that drives that side of the axle is flipped around in the wrong rotation one.
Revisit that one and put it in second gear for the pull start .
Will do
A word of advice Wiley. Dont leave ur truck runnin in the heat with the a/c on because u will burn up the compressor cause there aint nothin but hot air blowin back into the engine compartment. U need cooler ish air runnin across the condenser fins to help keep the freon from buildin up too much pressure in the lines
Thanks for the tip
welcome@@DontbeWily
HAd a 135D. The Hi/Lo would get stuck between gears, and "lock" up. With that much play in the shifter forks, it would be a place to check. Should be a pipe plug or cap on the top of the trans tunnel. Check the forks with a flashlight while yer in there. Fuel still sounds like an issue. The Perkins were a pain to bleed. Is the mechanical fuel shut off still pulled out? It really doesn't seem to be sucking fuel, mind it should kick off on the ether. Just a few thoughts. Old farmer here. Tired, old, weary farmer. Best of luck Wiley.
Thank you for the information. If we go back that will be my starting point
Thanks for sharing and watching
My dad had a similar problem with his Massey Ferguson transmission.
You should never lift up on the gear shift lever. It does mess up the forks inside the transmission.
They do need to pull the third plug on top of transmission to straighten out the forks.
JUST FUN TO TRY
Maybe they should have tried cleaning gas tank then carb and making sure. Timing was close to right sparkplugs clean and firing
OMG PUT IN A HIGH GEAR WHEN PULL STARTING!
Good try, can't crank em all.
I grew up on a farm South Western Ontario lots of little tractors in the neighbourhood Next door neighbour bought himself a David Brown 995 my idot step father says why need that big tractor LOL
Thanks for sharing
Sometimes things don't go the way it should,it almost started
No it don’t and thanks for watching
Used to drive a MF 135 for years pretty much the same as the 130 apart from the gearbox in the 130 was a 4 forward box. Make sure you got the stopper pushed in and tow it, let the clutch up in high third she'll start for ya.🤠🇮🇪
Thanks for sharing and watching
Sir comparing Massey 130 to a 135 is like comparing Chalk to Cheese and high class cheese at that
You need to read up on your Massey history
To put it simply
135 Brilliant tractor
130 Lemon
And I’ve owned 2
Wìly you so cool
Thanks
Here in England we have Massey Ferguson 135 but I've never heard of a 130
Yes i recall them very well, always displayed in the line up ads, pretty rare though as they were a duplicate for the TEA 20, ok for a golf course or a garden tractor but thats about it. As someone above said, the 135 would be the way to go .
The fuel is coming from the injector return line it’s definitely a compression problem and it needs to be in high gear to pull it off keep up the good videos.
Thanks for sharing and watching
got to put in high gear
There’s nothing saying that the injectors could be blocked up and maybe the pump needs work as well that little Perkins probably needs a bit of love to see why it ain’t getting compression rings / or whatever it maybe
Thanks for sharing
Pull the short shifter backwards and pull the tractor backwards and it'll start but really be better to put in road gear and pull it forwards. The open station jd is it for sale id be interested in the 135 if it was reasonable thanks
Thanks for sharing and watching. I may go back to this machine
used to drive a 30 years a good tractor they were just as popular. sounds like the engines stuffed with those noises you would probaby have to strip it down. Now it gets expensive
Thanks for sharing
First time I saw your channel Brilliant circus
I’m not daring to suggest as to why it won’t start
The MF 25 ,30 , 130
825 Was the French engineers shoving it up the English as nearly every country in Europe built a tractor, but the French got Harry Ferguson to build a factory in France to build what was an iconic British tractor, redesigned by French engineers and that led to that MF Range with disastrous results
But good luck with your 130
Good fun
Thank you for sharing I did not know that
I am not sure how to respond to brilliant being put in front of circus but the circus part is dead on point
I don't think that tractor is designed to pull start some are like that
You should have mixed a little bourbon in with that diesel Wiley. Wouldn't have tasted so bad 😂
Lol.
I want to see this thing run right.
Hope you work on it sommore.
I really want to find out what's wrong it.
I may go back. Got a lot if tips from viewers. Thanks for watching
Those 130s were French built , said to the true successor th the ferguson 20 but they weren't popular, the 135 with the bullet proof perkins AD152 engine totally out sold them.
The pto needs to disengaged and the cut off pushed it and when your pull starting it make sure your in a high gear and in high range then let out on the clutch or pop the clutch... it won't start with the pto engaged...
Thanks for sharing
Ther is a bleed screw on the back of the injection pump the Perkins are bad to start without bleeding the pump
esse não teve jeito mesmo
Chances are you can buy a new one for less than it will cost you to fix that old 130 up. If I'm not mistaken the 130 was built overseas.
Thanks for sharing that and watching
Did we check for spark? I may have missed that part.
he checked th gap... and the plugs were dirty
by the look of oil an crap on radiator top tank my gess .it has a blown head gasket or .one been leaking long time
Hi sir u need to losen the bleed screw on fuel pump
The pump is probably stuck and might twist the drive off!
have to have it in high not low on your low high to pull start
How much a were at the 130 is exactly the same as my 25 I just sold
I think you need a Higher Gear
