Yes i know. It's called living in the matrix. When you don't live in the matrix you do not have to waste your money and life on weave and fake nails(to fit in).
If you want to leave the matrix, you must first need no one else for money and then you can have full power over yourself. No need to be "polished". Be yourself...

This is going to be a long comment.
I'm 32 years old woman, and I worked as a makeup artist for many years. I started applying makeup when I was 16, and I mean the full jam everyday, never going out without it. Along the way, I got a bacterial infection and it took me more than 15 years to get rid of it. Quitting makeup helped me more than any treatment or "skin care" I tried.
As a young woman I followed many youtubers (MUA or just regular people) buying and applying dozens of products on their face. I kept wondering "when are they going to finish all these products?"
Getting older I started to pay attention more to the environment, the impact of oils, moisturisers, makeup, hair dye, serums etc. and the worse of all, promoting the use of SPF. Ladies, unless you are going to lay in scorching sun for hours or have an acid peeling, you have no valid reason to wear SPF. Stop believing that you are going to prevent ageing, men don't use any shit on their face and they have better skin than us. Is about hormones, not about crap smeared on your body! SPF(and other products) is damaging to your skin and environment. Getting old is not a disability!
I stopped using makeup, stopped dyeing my hair(which miraculously became thicker and shinier) and got rid of long nails and wacky designs. I cook often and long nails in the kitchen are disgusting. I quit my job as a MUA because I couldn't be part of exploiting insecurities and enforcing superficiality anymore. What cured my makeup addiction was seeing people looking so different with makeup on. You are not ugly, you are ugly through comparison to a painted, well "crafted" face. That isn't real, it washes in a blink of an eye. The real you is underneath.
Social media promotes consumerism, whether is makeup or fashion. Stop buying cheap things because you are poor. My aunt used to say when we were children "we are too poor to buy things that break or tear apart easily." Save money to buy quality clothing and shoes. I blame social media and influencers that sold their soul to the devil promoting consumerism. Young women that look for validation are sure victims.
Yes, is hard to get rid of social media. I deleted my Facebook account last year, this year I got rid of Instagram, Pinterest, etc. I'm only using UA-cam to educate myself(I avoid watching shorts because they're addictive).
Men are beautiful the way they are, why can't we be the same?
P.S. I literally screamed when I saw my new flat mate's wig thrown on the bed. I thought it was a rat. Creepy stuff. 😂😂😂

A lot of this make up contains asbestos and causes many cases of lung cancer in women. A lot of dyes marketed to Black women have chemicals that can cause bladder cancer. Wearing these eyelashes with that glue can cause eye infections. No one should wear make up because it is a health hazard. A lot of women wear wigs and weaves and they stink after a while so it is not good hygiene.

When I don’t wear make up guys and people in general just treat me like I’m dumb and poor. I don’t know how to overcome this? It’s fine if men think I’m ugly and I can never be in a relationship but what about job stability? Me being black and a woman is not good and wearing make up is a way of buying back more status. Buying back more respect. I don’t put on much but I just cover imperfections. I can’t even cover them all. I think many people feel like this regardless of race but I’m just keeping it 💯.

It is the truth! In this life are born wordly! Not knowing whether what we do is right or wrong. And through our lives we find righteousness and our connection with GOD!! Can I get an amen.. Although many people do not ever find that connection and it is because they are not challenging themselves enough. They live solely in their comfort zone. Which is weakness....

Great message some of use women are influenced by society and used defensive words to substitute the deep soul truth. I use to wear makeup to hide certain imperfections. I was always told I was beautiful and get attention but I had mother issues. My mom was not emotional since her divorce. When I looked at myself I seen her in me and makeup helped me hide that reminder. Keep going strong in your message despite the catty attacks. I think if all the beauty industry dies it'll humble many to face their fears of insecurities.

I’m 18 and never liked makeup on myself but at times I felt like I had to because my family would push me since I sometimes get eye circles (a small insecurity I have), and small acne scars and they want me to look my best and I get it to some extent but I feel like it shouldn’t be forced onto others. Another thing as well is at times I also felt like I had to, not for me but for people to stop pointing out any flaws I had because it can be embarrassing. But the thing is makeup also makes me breakout and I have sensitive skin so for me makeup makes it worse :( but now I just stand up for myself if others push me to and just stick to skin care routines and taking care of myself instead.

"Narcissism is characterized in part by an acute concern for one’s appearance. Despite this fundamental aspect of narcissism, little is known about whether narcissism is manifested in features of physical appearance. Can you tell if someone is narcissistic just by looking at them? Our results indicate that snap judgments of narcissism based on full-body photographs are at least as accurate as snap judgments of any of the big five personality traits. Narcissists are more likely to wear expensive, flashy clothing, have an organized, neat appearance requiring a lot of preparation, and (in females) wear makeup and show cleavage."

@@nerdmonty Ow I pray that He makes it easy for you bro
Well is a way we uplift ourselves from minor impurities(e.g using the toilet, flatulence etc) before praying
First we make the intention in our hearts( I'm about to purify myself)then we say "In the name of Allah" now comes the cleansing process starting with washing our hands together with clean water(stopping at the rist) followed by the mouth, nose and then the whole face repeating each act 3 times... then the right hand(to just a little above the elbow) repeating the same on the left hand again we do this 3 times and then with water in our hands we go over the head once and then clean the ears as well... from there we wash our feet starting from the right(up to the ankle)
to complete we recite the following
"I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger." This is called the Shahada and it's the first pillar of Islam it's actually what you have to recite in other to become a Muslim.
Look even though this might look quite hard to repeat for all the 5 daily prayers (if you're always in the state of impurity by the time of prayer that is) it's actually one of the biggest blessings of Allah upon us... you see as you're washing each part of your body like I mentioned, all the minor sins(please do research)that you've committed prior to performing "wudu"(ablution) visualize it all coming off with the mercy of Allah and also on the day of resurrection we believe all those body parts that we cleansed while performing ablution will be filled with light and that way we'll be recognized as the people who followed our Prophet Muhammad(may peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him)
Allah said "He's the turner of hearts and He guides who He wills." I pray He guides you brother
      Assalamualaikum.

Ok yes makeup can be toxic to people who haven't come to a healthy relationship with themselves yet. Like for me personally; I used to not like the way I looked, so used some makeup to make myself feel better. And honestly looking back I think that benefited me in a way Bc it helped me appreciate what I already have and I came to realize I didn't need makeup to feel good about myself I needed to work on myself mentally and how I viewed myself. So in that case I think makeup had a benefit if that makes sense. Now I love my fresh face just as much as I love my face with makeup I'm confident both ways now. I don't feel like I need to go out in public with makeup on to feel pretty or accepted anymore. If I do wear makeup I do because I want to and because I feel creative and I want to express myself. And I think God would want you to express Who You are, so I don't think makeup is toxic if you have a healthy relationship with it.

Wonderful video, and it was nice to hear a man's perspective on this! I truly believe that we are hiding our divine, perfect selves by wearing makeup, and I extend this philosophy to also not removing body hair or facial hair. It's all part of you, it's meant to be there, there's nothing wrong, gross or masculine about it (it can't be by definition, since it occurs with both men and women.)
If people think I'm ugly without makeup, then when I'm wearing it they don't think I'M pretty, they think my mask is! And if they wouldn't treat me like a human being if I don't cover and alter myself, I wouldn't want to interact with them anyway. I'd simply tell them, "I'm at peace with myself... can you say the same?"

  • @IleneCamila
    @IleneCamila Рік тому

    I understand and you’re right,
I use make up to cover up because I’m not gonna give just everyone the right to see me bare.
Make up to me, is also a protection from the “devil”.
I love not wearing make up and being around my friends, family, my boyfriend.
That’s when I feel more me and more connected to God and myself.
I don’t think it’s something you’ll ever understand because you’re not a women but the society is harder on us, if we want to succeed, not be overly judged then we already are, we need to fit in and play into the matrix.
We won’t win my taking yourself out of it, it’s an inside game. For example Alicia Keys started off by wearing make-up and now she’s, there is UA-camrs, and also some celebrity that talk about this topic and understand it.
And they’ve inspired bunch of women to wear less make up or not wear make-up at all.
