Why I Don't Wear Makeup

- I'm a full supporter to wear and not wear makeup, but I'm a little biased because I would rather see everyone's beautiful face ❤️

I am also grateful that I grew up in a household where no one really ever wore makeup and I was never pressured to wear makeup
Same, I just don’t really like makeup but I don’t mind those who wear it. I’m currently a senior and seeing those younger than me or in the same grade waking up early for the purpose wearing makeup, straightening hair, etc. It’s like ok but why? We’re in school let’s focus on our studies then focus on this “beauty” society tells us girls to focus on

You’re so right. It’s way too expensive. I’m so upset at the amount of time and money I’ve wasted over the years. It also made my skin worse. You are lucky haha you don’t need makeup at all. I also now love being able to touch my face and rub my eyes.
I agree with regret of wasting money on makeup and other pointless beauty products over the years.
I never wear makeup anymore. To weddings and events I'll wear very simple makeup and can't wait to take it off once I get home!
Here in the U.K we have pound shops and literally the most that I've ever spent on full set of makeup is £10 and that will last me for years.
You are so articulate. I wish I had your confidence and intelligence when I was your age (it’s been pretty much over a decade now since I graduated from college). I wish more people appreciated bare face like you do. Would save a lot of people from peer pressure and bullying. If there were more people going out without makeup, I think bare faces would be normalized.
I’m lazy too so I use makeup filters. I admit I have low self confidence. A lot of my decision to put on makeup, especially in my younger years has to do with high expectations. Both sides of my family are well known to have “the ideal” Chinese face. And it was very hard to live up to those standards. Sometimes my other family members would say I am beautiful the way I am and so I would let go and just be me but immediately I would hear them give me “constructive criticism”, so I was back and forth on that wagon of should I wear makeup or should I not? I know I shouldn’t let others affect me but that’s how I felt and still feel. Though as I got older I realize now that I can’t please everyone so I should do what I feel comfortable with. I still use photos of myself with makeup online. But in reality I’ve been able to reduce my number of products from a full face to now partial. Thanks to listening to other UA-camrs such as yourself explain why they are going against the grain by going bare face.
Sorry my comment was long and possibly a bit self focused. But I do believe the points you made here are super important. Especially for younger girls who may feel the need to wear makeup and not because they enjoy it. It’s important to do something for ourselves and rock what we got and not do something because of expectations. But I know it’s a tough feeling to overcome. Which makes you an even more admirable person here on UA-cam!
What is your idea of makeup filters? They kind of address the “time” aspect. It’s instant and not as time consuming. But I understand some people may see a filter as not being authentic. Curious to know your thoughts on filters
I very much appreciate your long explanation, trust me, there's no such thing as too much detail to me! I'm just happy you can feel comfortable as yourself here! I always strive to make others feel confident in themselves; this was just one video I felt needed to be created 😄! As for filters, I don't mind them at all. I feel as if they may be overused at times, but if they're obvious, then it makes others feel a little better if that makes any sense. If someone is straight-up using filters to genuinely make it seem like they're not, then I think that may be a red flag in my books. I hope my comment wasn't too late for you! Take care my friend 💕

Lmao “I’m not the news anchor.” I’m going to say that any time people question me not wearing makeup. The average woman spends $313 per MONTH on makeup, by the way!
I dislike it so much! It feels nasty, too much time, makes my acne worse. And I feel so pressured from society to wear it. But I’m not going to wear it because I love my bare skin ❤️
This is important and I wish their were more influencers who were no makeup friendly. I just can’t walk around knowing I have a whole new face on. Plus I touch my face and sweat a lot and I think I would transfer it everywhere. At 25 I feel awkward that girls my age rock makeup and I’m always bare faced, no matter the occasion. It also annoys me that when influencers style their hair bars faced and the finished look their faces are always made up.

I stopped wearing it and I've always sucked at applying it so I don't even bother. lol

I don't really wear too makeup either. Tbh it's a waste of time and money. I do however sometimes wear brow gel as I don't really have much eyebrows and I got bullied about it.
I learned all this later on in life after having worn make up from such a young age. I wore it so much to the point where I felt so ugly without it and I felt I had to constantly cover up.
Now I love seeing my bare face and other peoples bare faces. And yes it’s so freeing to be able to touch my face (especially have seasonal allergies) and I have kids now who like to give me hugs and slobbery kisses
It’s really cool that you learned all this without having had gone through a phase of wearing it all the time. it would be a shame to cover your face all the time with make up 😊 it’s nice to see more bare faces
And yea also you do address the issues that may be causing you problems on your skin as opposed to using a quick fix
I never did in my entire life, the exception being stage makeup for performances. I was a teenager in the early to mid 2000s. "Not wearing makeup" was very unusual at that time. Know that others before you have done what you're doing, and that there's nothing wrong with being your natural self. :)

i also feel the same way, i dont have thick eyebrows and my lips also have darker pigments around em, i look so pale. but at the same time i dont like wearing make up cause its just too much for the price, the time. and also if i start wearing make up im afraid i will dislike my face more in the future.

let's be friends! :D I struggled my whole young life debating if I should start wearing it or not.. my mom didn't when I was growing up but all my friends did. But at sleepover makeover parties I learned that makeup was gooey and uncomfortable lol. Kind of like a straight jacket for your face! I understand why people wear it though. There's a LOT of pressure. I even had a boyfriend that wanted me to wear makeup so he would be more proud to "show me off!" And I'm sorry to say that I did for a while... But that didn't feel like me. So... he's an ex :) Thank you for your video and sharing your thoughts with the world! I personally think people look better without it. When I see a face full of makeup I just think about how long that must've taken! Love that you're spreading clear face positivity!
