    i started wearing makeup fr when i was 16 and like you said, the compliments really did me in. people often told me i was pretty before i started wearing makeup, but it was nothing compared to the amount of compliments i would *constantly* get when i wore it. the funny thing about the compliments was people would say stuff about how perfect my skin was, either not knowing or ignoring the fact that it only looked this way because of the makeup. i would feel dishonest because of that, like i was lying about how i looked even though i thought it was obvious that i had makeup on. anyway, loved wearing and the process of doing makeup. the process is still pretty enjoyable, but it got to the point where i felt like i needed it. when covid debuted lol and i started wearing masks to work, i would still do a whole full face under it knowing that nobody would see it and it would all rub off on the inside. when i started feeling like that, that i needed it to be beautiful and, like, respected, i changed my relationship with it by taking breaks from it until i could feel fine and even pretty without it, but i always ended up going back in some way. now that i'm more into spirituality and sobriety from substances, i've kind of gone sober from makeup, too. i just have an intense want to be natural in life, and not feel dependent on any outside thing to provide or maintain my happiness and self-esteem. i haven't worn makeup since a job interview a few weeks ago, and i don't really want to wear it anymore.

    The hair, the lashes, the makeup, and plastic surgery are overtaking modern women. It is pride, lust, and vanity.

    I have worn make up probably five times in the 29 years that I have been alive and I look at the other women around me and realize I am beautiful because I kill it every day without make up I just come to work with my real face my real lashes and my real hair and I’m gorgeous😂😂😂😂
    I obviously want to take care of my face so that certain aspect of it will remain beautiful and be naturally enhance but I just realize this today I am gorgeous

    i really appreciate that you made this video, I am seeing it way too late. You have such an adorable face without makeup, stay strong xx. I had really bad acne as a teenager and that was what made me super insecure and reach for concealer and foundation. I only just parted ways with concealer and foundation even though my acne disappeared (magically) some years ago. At first i couldn't stand people seeing me without concealer or foundation, eventually I came to this point where I knew I was beautiful with and without. I've felt that way for maybe a year or two but every now and then makeup helps me find a certain kind of confidence when I'm out partying or seeing people after a long time.
    I would say the self hatred comes and goes... With my mental health struggles sometimes i feel like my under eyes are just too dark and the discolouration is too much, but i reached the point now where I am loving and accepting that I do look tired when I am emotionally exhausted and thats okay ... it doesn't make me ugly but just more honest and being honest with myself im so glad i can do that now. I realised its such a blessing that my acne is gone so when I get little break outs now I just don't want to cover it because I know its nothing compared to what I was suffering from when I had acne really bad and it feels silly to want to cover up my skin when its clear and normal I cant believe I spent so many years looking patchy/cakey and fake when I didn't even need to do that anymore

    You’re so beautiful 🤩 with or without makeup. I barely wear makeup anyway too. If I’m going somewhere like a special occasion, then I’ll wear some foundation or concealer. But other than that, I’m more into skincare and treating my acne now. I’m still insecure about my dark marks though. 😟

    Not wearing makeup is also healthy for your skin and overall health Your skin is the largest organ you have It absorbs a lot. I’m wondering if you’re thinking of no longer doing your nails as well. There are many unhealthy ingredients in nail products as well You can find healthy polishes on the market.

    I hate how today’s society makes it seem like wearing makeup is taboo, I’m not walking around looking like Plaine Jane all day, I’m confident without it but being a feminine woman I love doing my hair & makeup. Queens in history even wore makeup, I really don’t understand the big deal

    • @Oshunnn
      @Oshunnn  2 роки тому +25

      I think you missed the point of my video. I never said it was taboo and I’m speaking from my personal experience. You can be a “feminine” woman doing either. Makeup doesn’t make you more or less feminine. In this video I only spoke of my own experience and how I grew to love myself without make up. Some people take my experience personally when you shouldn’t

      @@Oshunnn "it took me a year to feel comf.." yeah I don't care, that's on you. you're clearly already naturally beautiful.

      @niya3550 2 роки тому +14

      @@EnoYaka you are very obviously insecure, which makes me sad because i used to be really insecure too. you and everyone commenting "but YOU don't NEED makeup" missed the point of the video. try watching it again, and think about what they're saying and not just what you feel about yourself. i hope you learn to love yourself deeply, or at least enough not to let your lack of love for yourself come out as bitterness towards other people.

    • @niya3550
      @niya3550 2 роки тому +6

      it's also just wild to read your reply to Oshun's comment ridiculing them for needing time to feel comfortable with themselves, when you evidently aren't yet comfortable with yourself. i wonder do you see the irony. "that's on you", no, it's not. it's on the same society that's made you feel like beauty is the only or most valuable thing in a woman/person. it's not that you can't wear makeup. there are no laws requiring it lol. think about why you feel like you can't, what consequences you fear will happen if you don't.
