- Step by step build of my double rod holder. Just like the single rod holder, this setup uses a rebar spike to hold most of the weight. No need to depend on just PVC.

PRO TIP: They sell pvc glue to seal those together.. It's strong! It's way easier, then nuts and bolts.
I agree. I went back and glued everything. Thanks! 👍
This a fantastic rod holder!! I just came on to this.
Thank you! I’m glad you like it 👍👍
Absolutely fantastic idea very nicely done
Great video and that’s brilliant idea now I can make one and never have to worry if there is a rod holder where I go fishing at.
Good luck fishing!!
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the DIY.
Glad you liked it!
Great video. Thanks
I just commented on your other vid that it was the best DIY rod holder I’ve seen. But this is the best one hahahaha. Damn. Nice work
Thanks! Both setups worked great last season.
Thanks for sharing this diy
You’re welcome!
I'll have to use this design but with something that will hold the PVC because the rebar will have to go through very rocky ground but the PVC will just spin and not go in the rocky ground at all. Sand and soil this would be excellent but most of our fishing places have this rocky ground.
Thanks for the great tip! BTW You did an excellent job of explaining
I made a 5 gallon bucket rod holder that might work on rocks. I fish mostly dirt/grass banks, so I'm not sure what to try for hard banks. Let me know what you come up with and good luck fishing!!

I made one that is just a 3' - 1 1/2" PVC and a 1 - 1/2" "Y"
Used the rebar in the ground with a 5# hammer and then the pole goes in nicely!
even a better idea and another good video.
Thanks again!!!
Love you man
u Best!
What a great idea sir thanks
Thanks! Good luck fishing!!

Great job sir,txs alarge🙏
Thanks!!
If your not an educator, you missed your calling. Great demonstration video. Thanks
Not an educator. Just like tinkering around with things. Your comment made my day!!!
Great. I'm going to try this
Glad you like it!
I tried it . It was better than I'd expected 🙏
I really like your rod holders. Made a few of them. Some of my fishin holes have big limestone boulders on the bank and there is no way to drive in the rebar. Is there a way to put legs on the rod holders to set on the boulders?! Thanks
How big are the boulders? Size of a basketball or bigger? We don't really run into rocks that size around here, but it would be fun to try to figure something out!
Excellent idea mate I'm actually looking for sand spikes but great video buddy
Thanks. I’ve never fished off the sand, so I’ve got nothing. I will someday!!
@@KCLOutdoors you wouldn't regret it buddy once you start. It's great to know you don't know what 1 bite is to another You have brought some great ideas in to my mind though mate that will work cheers for sharing.
Excellent
Thanks!!
It's a double version of a single one I made
Very good idea's you got on your rod holder. I'm getting ready to make my own and was thinking about the sturdiness of it when a big fish hits and the rebar and angle cut is a great idea. Well done👍😉
Thanks!! They have worked out well for me. Good luck fishing!!
Excelente
Question I noticed you had bait casters in them any modifications for spin cast rods? Will the notch you cut in still work?
Both casting and spinning rods work without issue. The spinning reel will sit in the notch. Good luck fishing!!
Here I am spending lots of hard end money on rod holders when I have PVC laying around my work van lol.
Thank you !!
You're welcome and good luck fishing!!
@@KCLOutdoors thank you ! Same to you ♡
נהדר 👏👏👏👏
Top de mais....
You think this holder can stand up to sand and surf? Looks good man.
It holds up to the flathead catfish that we chase. I would think that a longer piece of rebar would help hold in the sand. If you build one, let me know how it works!
Hi. I really like your video. What size are the other pieces? I got the 3/4" pipe. But I'm not sure about the other pieces. Thank you.
All the other other pieces are 1 1/2" sch 40. The reducer is 1 1/2" to 3/4".
Glad you liked the video!
@@KCLOutdoors Thank you for the quick reply. I'm off to HD for the parts.
Thanks for asking, I had the same question
Really like it could u comment on here a material list of what i need to make one
Will do.
@@KCLOutdoors can you mention me in it when u post what i need to make it
@braxtonball2662 Here you go…
3) 1 1/2” T connections
1) 1 1/2” to 3/4” reducer / Threaded
2) 11/2” pieces cut at 2 1/4” and 3” long
1) 3/4” pipe cut to desired length
I used machine screws and glue to secure everything. I’m sure only using glue would work, but I wanted to make sure everything stayed together!
Thanks for watching!!
I am going to build one. But make them a little further apart.
Sounds good. How far apart do you plan on making them? I didn't have an exact spread planned when I made these....
Not a bad idea but why not secure the rod to the main pvc pipe, let a little hang out the top so you can hammer it. Also try drilling a few other holes incase you want to quick change the angle (trees & such)
Those are good ideas!
Hey buddy. Just letting you know I bought everything yesterday to make me a rod holder like yours
Nice! Mine have held up well. Good luck fishing!!
@@KCLOutdoors I’m going to paint my rod holder with glow paint
Great idea.
I made these, and came up with an Enhancement to your ," BUILD". You can grind a little bit of radius curve in top of Rebar, to let bolt seat into it, OR... Epoxy a fender washer or , the like to the bolt, for more Surface area, for rebar to rest against, Though Enhancements are not really necessary.
Those are great ideas. Thanks for sharing them. I’m starting my next set in the near future!
😃
What size Tee are you using
They are 1 1/2”. I’ve used this rod holder and also the 5 gallon bucket rod holder without any issues.
Can you give me all the materials needed thanks in advance
Here you go.
(3) 1 1/2" T.
(2) 1 1/2" pieces of pipe. Cut at 3" long and 2 1/4" long
(1) 1 1/2" to 3/4" reducer. 3/4" is female threaded.
(1) 3/4" male threaded to 3/4" female
(1) 3/4" pipe cut to desired length.
(5) 10/32 bolts and nuts
(10) washers
(1) piece of rebar cut to desired length
All the PVC is SCH 40. I'm not a plumber, so not sure what the exact names are for all the fittings/couplers. Hope this helps!!
why bolts and not Glue ?
I forgot to show the glue up on video, but I did use a combination of glue and bolts. I'm sure the glue would hold on its own, but wanted the extra assurance.
How long of rebar?
I cut my piece of rebar about 8” longer than the rod holder. I don’t think it would need to be much longer. Thanks for watching!!
@@KCLOutdoors thanks I just made 3 single ones but may do this model as well
Do you have a material list supplies
I would appreciate a materials list as well.
Thanks in advance.
Found the list in another comment. Thanks.
Why don’t you glue them Together with PVC cement
I ended up gluing the pieces together after the video, but still kept the same bolts. Extra strength always helps!
Why not use glue
I went back after releasing the video and glued everything. I’ve made a few more with just glue, and they worked fine. Thanks for watching!
