Nice! I been surf fishing for years and just found out about these 2 months ago. I've learned a few things about pvc rod holders over time. I cut them at 5 feet long. So I can get a good 1 or 2 ft. in the ground and still have a good amount above the surface to keep my rod tip as high as possible. I don't cut the bottom to a point. I just leave it flat. Seems safer to transport. I have one I cut to a point and it scratches everything it touches. Also, the sand will do all the deburring for you on the bottom side. The rod side I'll clean up. This sounds weird, but if you suck on the pvc while shoving into the sand, it will go in the ground fast because of the vacume being created. I live in Texas , we can drive on most beaches. So carrying wasn't the reason I got them, it was for the cup/bait holders. I also put some reflective tape on all my rod holders for night fishing and safety of passing cars. You can put one those sticker style rulers for fishing on the pvc too. Great video man! Good info! Thank you.
Hey Luis, thank you for purchasing the Surf Caddy! I'm the person who created and make them. Most orders only include one sticker. If you would like some more, send me a message. :)
*Watching this Video... It finally hit me why I've always really liked you JC... You explain thing Just like my Shop Teacher back in High School... and like him... I've learned a lot of great stuff* Thanx again ..gw
Does it annoy you when the straps holding the kayak start catching the wind? I recently started using a section of pool noodle and it completely took away the issue!!!
What the hell is JC doing upstairs now with all that noise.....LOL I mostly fish freshwater for Catfish but do fish salt about once to a few times a yr.I use PVC to hold my cat and bait rods, and net. Here I only have to put it 8-12" into the ground but one must use a dead-blow hammer to get them in and you need a sharp point,I just use a mitersaw to cut my angle.I also just used a piece of paracord and tied a slip knot on each end and slid them over the PVC then used the center as the handle.TIP:if you make the cord long enough you can figure 8 it around the PVC a couple times (1,2,3or 4 pieces) and it gives it enough friction to sling them over your shoulder once you cinch it down.. but I think I'll give these a try....as there is also a "liquid lunchable" holder for them. Painting the PVC also helps it from degrading and becoming brittle from the UV light.
Ohh I like those. They would come in handy in my shark fishing charters 🤙🏽
Hey Jack! That's how I actually came up with them. I love to surf fish, especially for sharks :)

Good content. In the store if you have them cut the tall poles in half at an angle in the middle, it will create both spiked ends for you in one cut.

Still a lot easier to just take the bag off of one of your soccer chairs and stuff the bag with 4-6 sand spikes. Over the shoulder and off you go.
Oh my, I'm adding that one to my new fishing hacks video. Brilliant!
