- This video shows how to Make a PVC Fishing Rod Holder and I added a twist for a second version. We made a single rod holder from PVC for my boat and then added a twist to use the same design for bank fishing. #fishinghack #bassfishing #hack #fishingrod #Rodholder @JerrysRetirementWisdom65

I'm all for a DIY solution. I have some PVC rod holders myself. But for those listening, skip the primer/cleaner! No need for the expense, mess or ugly purple stains it leaves. You don't need this to be a perfect bond. You can wipe it with a rag or even some alcohol if you're really worried about it. But I challenge anyone to pull apart unprimed PVC that was only glued. I'm old enough to remember doing plumbing before there was primer.
We just sanded these parts and glued them together. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the observation. We aren’t sealing water pipe either, so probably overdoing it with the primer.
Keep the hacks coming I made a bank rod holder out of PVC pipe that has elbows on it to hold your bottled water or can drinks.
Good idea. Thanks for watching!
Another awesome video! I use the gorilla brand pvc glue with the primer already added to it. Works great for these type of projects. Love the metal funnel tip!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome hack. Keep it coming. Thank you for sharing. New sub 🤙🏾 🎣

Good job!
Thanks!
Thanks Jerry. You’re ideas are always interesting !
Thanks. Thanks for being a loyal subscriber.
Not necessary to sand the pvc. Only necessary when plumbing because of pressure.
Thanks for the advice!
Nice,I have a hack challenge if you have time.Make a rod holder for on the hip you can put on belt that will hold a surf casting larger spinning rod that has a ball on butt end.See these for sale but not sure if a surf rod will fit in size of them.
I’ll have to think on that one.
I just got the rod holders from Walmart an aluminum 1/2 rod from work an duck tape holder to rod cut 45 degree at end done
Good idea. Thanks for watching. Part of the fun is making the holders.
When I work with PVC, I find that boiling it works well.
I might just try that. Thanks
Yeah looks nice but does ir go in a harder dirt
Here it is sand. You might make one and let me know how it works in harder dirt. I would think unless it is rocky, it would work. Thanks for watching.
My dad uses a metal fence post and welded a bolt to it. Then he puts some screw in rod holders on it.
He has to use a sledge hammer to put a rod holder in the river bank where he goes because it's so rocky.
Welded a nut to it LOL
That would work great. Thanks for watching!
Try assembling, put into ground, then paint
Good thought. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed watching your video, good instructions, educated me on rod holder. Beats the old forked stick I grew up using on farm ponds and
Duck River in Tn.👍👍
I use a "y" with a small straight piece connected to it
Then I cut much of the y out to make a rod holder.
Then I cut a lot of the straight pipe so it will fit over a square railing.
Then I drill a couple holes in it and run a bolt and nut with wings on it to tighten around a dock railing.
I tie a rope with a carabiner onto the dock and clip the carabiner to the reel. I lost two combos one year before I did this.
Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for sharing.
My dad maded them in the 50s. A lot easier ,cheaper and faster !
Timeless! Thanks for watching.
