I am fine thank you. My Jodel has been out of the air for some time with a major canopy crack and engine baffle work. During this time I filmed from the back of John's RV4 but have switched to recording sound on to a Sony recorder. Have you seen any?
Love the videos Ben. I got a few hours under my belt at Sherburn a couple of years ago but had to put my training on hold..... life got in the way and all that ;) Watching your videos keeps my appetite up to finish what i started one day. If you ever need a passenger ;)
Great video Ben. Can I ask what that item is that you use to hold the GoPro against the pilot side window (wing view), and where you got it from etc? Thanks!
I have a huge soft spot for Cardiff where I learnt to fly back in the late nineties, many happy a year based in Cardiff (a certain Beagle Pup which I know is still based there) before moving to Scotland. Ah the memories. Will need to pop into the flying when I'm down at some point, hopefully the restaurant is as good as ever!
Hi Ben just started posting some videos of my own following your technique to an extent so thank you for that, just out of interest how did you get SkyDemon to show up on video?
How on earth you decipher all that chatter, is simply beyond me! How you know the difference of messages directed at you and those directed at other aircraft is simply bewildering. I was listening out for your call sign, but nah! Ill leave the piloting to you!
+Oliver Shotter if it's something you're considering you should go down to your local airfield for a Trial Lesson, they aren't as expensive as you may think!
Plane Old Ben couple of weeks ago. It'll be going to FIS in November and staying like that indefinitely. There's some big issues that need to be sorted out at the airfield. Big users have left and the airport authority is working out the next steps.
Not on this nor BAe Training's other PA28, no. Warriors don't tend to have an AP (it was an expensive option), Cherokee 180s and Archer's often have the basic Piper autocontrol (single axis) AP.
Look at those new houses on final. What's the betting in a few years they'll be creating petitions against aircraft noise?
Thanks Ben. Enjoyed watching the series, especially on such a fine, if bumpy, day.
Love the video, nice clear audio and great scenery.
+Stephen Smith thanks Stephen!
Another great, very clear and easy to view video Ben. Keep them coming, thanks!
Another great video Ben It' been over 30 years since I've been to Blackpool. I'd forgotten how beautifull the place was
Great video Ben - I find these really interesting and great to watch. Many thanks
Nice one. Love these unadulterated flight videos - as good an armchair flying experience as you'll ever get. Keep it up.
+Lo-fi Pilot thanks a lot!
Another great video Ben. Well done and thanks for posting. Tim
+Jodel Flyer thanks a lot, Tim, hope you're keeping well!

First one of your videos I've seen, very good. Very confident radio comms.
+Kev cheers Kev!
Love that really tight base!
+Steve Richer it was so much fun!
I didn't see the date of the video.. I only noticed it was recent because the new roundabout completed at Coventry's Tolbar island just after takeoff
Super video Ben
+geardownandlocked thanks a lot!
12:30 wasn’t me on the radio but was my plane G-BOPC Cardiff based.

@@PlaneOldBen Came back to this video 5 years on.......i've just started my training at Sherburn again!
Awesome good luck!
Nice work Ben. Strange seeing you with an empty plane!
+Andy Donaldson I hardly ever fly solo!
Great video! So is Liverpool pretty good about granting zone transits? I'm planning a trip south, and I think id prefer that to trying the LLC.
I enjoyed that Ben. Nice to hear Andrea? on the ATC after meeting her last week.
+The Flying Reporter I love Andrea, she's brilliant!

Great landing
Thank you!
Excellent video! What did you think of Aeros? I fly and do a bit of work at Aeros Cardiff so it's nice to see someone mention it.
+SmokingSpitfire it's a really nice place!
Plane Old Ben Yeah! Come visit us in lowly Cardiff at some point. try your hand at a proper international airport. (plus the restaurant is very good!)
Some of us ground based locals still think of it as Rhoose Airport :-)

Another great video Ben. Can I ask what kneeboard you are using? it looks like you have an iPad mini in it.
+Gary Hueser people always ask me this and I can never remember! It wasn't cheap, maybe around £60 or something!
You flew right over me!

Great content, thanks. How do you fund your flying hobby?! Is it very expensive to rent the planes?

Excellent Video.
Very nice Ben! Are those new ATIS voices as I really prefer the old ones?
+CharlieClass156 I'm not sure, may have updated!
Ben what device do you use with your sky demon software?? great video's by the way keep up the great work
+Alex Johnson I use an external Garmin GLO for the GPS
are you running an iPad or an android tablet and what model.
aww, do you not get lonely when you do these long solo flights?
+Bhavrageaverage nah I don't mind it every now and again!

It's a shame now that Coventry is only A/G. 😕
+David James when did that happen?

Is there autopilot on the PA28?

I'm training at aeros the facilities are great
+JS Gaming it was well worth the visit.
did you have a look at their da42 sim ?
JS Gaming I think the AL42 sim is in Gloucester last time I checked. but don't quote me on it
SmokingSpitfire no they defiantly have one at Coventry as I train in it
What’s your flight planning app
The_Flight_Simmer 16 looks like sky demon to me
The most English video I've ever seen
Sounds like a trainee ATC Ben ;-)
