- My new acrylic/oil painting on canvas titled, "Countryside Dream." Inspired by the beauty of the natural world around me and fueled by my imagination, I often have dreams of places I want to be. I remember even as a child always painting a world inside my head that was beyond what the eye could see. I would imagine what a place might look like at the perfect point in time, capturing all of the best moments into one image.
Spending more time exploring the countryside lately has got me thinking more about what I love so much about it. I've been taking everything I'm inspired by to bring the most perfect memories to life. Told through my paintbrush, "Countryside Dream" is where this story begins.

Chuck Black is an artist currently residing near Bozeman, MT. I work primarily in acrylics and oils on canvas. I paint landscapes, wildlife, and anything to do with outdoor living or Mother Nature. My work simply reflects my love for the outdoors.

The light is warm but everything is frozen, the Canadian Goose is living the country, and the first snow is imminent. Amazing atmosphere!
Omg seriously chuck you blow my mind. Your attention to detail is what makes your art stunning. Please I will beg make a few dvd from your videos so we can learn. UA-cam is a great way to too but I know I would pay money to paint like you. I am trying to learn to be detailed oriented. But man you think of the tiny wee things. God I love every single one you have on here. Especially when you frustrated and unhappy with what is happening. God that is so important to us new to acrylic. I see how you think the problem out. It's helped me not to throw crap away and push through it sometimes in a different way. Thanks for all you give.

Stunned! I’m totally stunned! I had to back up so often because I got so deep into the image emerging that I forgot I was watching you paint so I could paint better. I just would wake up to the realization of another emergent beautifully rendered claiming my consciousness and leaving me in a sort of stupor. I “rewound” and “rewound” and marveled at the skill and precision with which you lovingly render your image which so obviously comes from within, from a synthesis achieved by an intuitive and integrative mind, so loquaciously expressed by your brush. Yes, the brush reveals what you love in the countryside. I WAS TAKEN BACK TO MY DAD’S MOTHER’S FARM where in the late 40s and the 50s-60s I soaked in the images of rural Cajun life. You bless the very images you create, Chuck. I am appreciative, grateful, awed, and inspired by you. I work twice as hard these days now that you are modeling how to work. I’ve learned so much about the craft, and the materials from you too, GOLDEN would sum it up in a word but so much much more comes from your heart and mind to us. Chuck Black : I have insights hitting me from your work sometimes ten to twenty days later, like shock waves, after shocks, and the methods you use accumulate more and more clearly as I review your teachings. I, too, like others, think you are a marvel and we want to support you in some way that doesn’t exclude anyone who couldn’t contribute, but if there were some subtle mechanism where we could make donations or give you some support and it not be a requirement of all, because your accessibility to everyone is totally important. I want to contribute and to contribute for those who cannot, but I am not suggesting a paytheon account...but some way to invest in you as a treasure. Maybe we should all start buying more prints and support in that way, but I’m thinking of some sort of reward system for our excellent contributions. The amount of work you are doing for us is amazing.

Chuck, you are an amazing painter. Your art inspires me. I would love to learn how to paint more detail. I am actually painting a barn right now and saw your detailed roof. Your video is a little to fast for me to see the steps to make the details. I wonder if sometime, you might consider doing slower videos maybe of a painting you have done and explain one section of it? Such as, how to paint a barn roof in detail? I know others have commented on wanting to learn detail. It would be enjoyable to watch and hear your thought process as you go. Even mistakes, and how you figure out how to fix them or change them. Thank you for all the videos you do and for sharing your talent with us. I appreciate you!
