Thank you and happy thanksgiving
Hi Jeffries,
Love the show! I've already had some success with some of your techniques, even though I've just discovered your Chanel about two weeks ago!
I'd love to see a follow up video on the high-gard.
What to do when your opponent is bending down a little and using it to recover and catch his breath???
Thanks in advance
Aaron
Maybe a video about the best mental tips before a training or sparring session, or wht you did to get yourself into the "mode"?
Please make a video on shoulder injuries and how to overcome that a lot of guys are suffering these day
Talk about what to do when you get hit hard. I know we should try to avoid it but sometimes it happens anyway.
That's the most protected wrist in history 😂 Great vid 💯
😂😂😂
That’s funny as hell. This guy has awesome energy and this video is just what I needed
You are the only Boxing coach I've seen do a video dedicated to this.
:) it’s a common problem mate
i asked because i watched a Tristar video where firaz said boxers can break their hands in a street fight because they wrap their hands and that doesnt allow them to become more durable during training....as well as wrist issues in boxing
so i asked THE MAN!!...Tony.
and he delivered
the guy is a class act responding to casuals like us!!
lol
When the student is ready, the teacher appears. I so needed this. Thank you!
Great thanks
Me too. Can hardly lift a tea cup with my left hand now, after hard work on the heavy bag.
I feel guilty for the free content.
No worries mate - you comment actually helps the channel
LOL I just discovered Tony and I have to say: I feel the same way. Guess we are all used to just get some teasers from professionals like him and not the awesome content he provides.
Thank you so much. I'm dealing with an injury right now. Soft tissue damage no fracturing but hurts like heck and definitely impedes my bag work. Going to use these wraps from now on!!
Great Chris, let me know how u get on
@@Tony_Jeffries just wanted to check back in. After doing this wrap my injury is not hurting during training and seems to hurt less during the day when I'm not wrapped. Massive thank you man!!!
@@pchbass8767 that's excellent results mate. I'm going to do this for one of my boxers. Thank you as well, Tony.
If you really want to fix your wrists permanently you should add a wrist bulletproofing routine. Back when I did boxing and just got started I had real bad wrist pain but once I started incorporating wrist stretching and strengthening excercises all issues stopped. Fitness FAQ's has a good video on wrist strengthening for calisthenics, but it works great for boxers as well. Watch some other videos too and take the best part from all of them to create your own routine.
I'm always injuring my wrists while boxing training. Thanks for this vid, I'll definitely use this lesson!
You are a great man for sharing your knowledge! I trained kids and basics like protecting your wrists is not discussed enough...
Thanks ma man, means alot
Thanks Champ, this video was a big help for me! I was hitting the heavy bag a few years ago, without adequate training and I got an injury in my wrist that still flares up to this day if I over do it. Ill make sure to wrap it like this for now on to help prevent it from happening, good stuff!
Yes mate, let me know how u get on
Tony, I never comment on UA-cam videos, but I just wanted to say thanks. Just getting back into boxing. You add an extra spark. Great work mate. Love it. I’ll be watching all your stuff. Subscribed 👊
Perfect vid for me Tony! I just injured my wrist and waiting for it to heal for weeks and stopped doing bag work, only double end. Thank you for this vid.
Best video on the subject so far! Awesome!
Great tips coach!! Thanks!
Tony I get so much value out of your channel I really feel like I owe you one! Started boxing recently and hurt my left wrist with a bad hook I threw and then hurt it again at the next session with a bad left uppercut as well. Was considering stopping for a few weeks to let it heal up, but instead I'll try taping and wrapping my wrists like this, as I know straight punches don't hurt my wrists, just when I tweak it on a bad hook or uppercut. This will give me some confidence I can train still and keep working on my technique in class while giving my wrist a break to heal. Thanks Tony! 👊🏻
This combined with the hand wrapping video are great. Sharing this information is very much appreciated. Thanks!!!!
Tony, you're the best man. Thanks for all the tips throughout this journey so far.

I’ve got two broken wrists (ulnar styloid process attached with metal pins and figure of 8 tensioning) and haven’t been able to box for years. I’m raring to start training again! Thank you so much for these tips.
Hope you back to it mate. I have got a denerate tfcc tear. But have started back boxing just working around it. Can't do press ups but can punch pads/paddles okay
I’ve suffered with my wrists for years but from plastering, this video is priceless for me

Appreciate it ma man
Class video, appreciate the content👊🏼
Thanks Mark
Awesome! It's always my wrists that take a bashing. So interesting about pulling the wrists in just before connecting with the bag. More than likely what I've been doing wrong. Intend to correct that. You're a life (& wrist) saver! 👍
Great video thank you I will try
By far THE BEST boxing channel on UA-cam!! Cheers from Brazil!!
Thanks ma man, means alot
Fantastic, Tony! This is exactly what i'm suffering from right now and this is a really great tip for me to now look at using. Much thanks!!!

Thank you! Great shared knowledge.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Learning for free straight from one of the goats. I love the internet and I love u Tony
Good information 👍
Thanks tony!! I recently injured my wrist while exercising (I'm not a boxer or anything, just a teenager!) and didn't know how to use an athletic wrap!!
I’ve become such a huge fan of all your videos. I just started boxing a month ago at the age of 40 and I’m in love with it. Wrist injury was the first thing that occurred and I will try this method immediately. Cheers brother
Hey Pedro thanks a lot mate- so glad this is helping you - let me know how u get on
Thanks Tony solid proper honest advice that isn't complicated
Nice 1 James mate
Amazinf video! Thank you so much! With perfect timing too. I’ve been boxing training for about 5 months now and I injured my left wrist hitting the heavy bag working on my job and haven’t been able to train for a few weeks now. Definitely going to try this.

Thanks Tony this video is gold, your channel is great and you are a professionist and a great man!
Thanks ma man, means alot
I repeat it, this video is gold, I started wrapping my wrists with athletic tape and usinng the tip that you gave in how to close the gloves and since I started I never had traumas to my wrists like before, I punch at full power for 3-4 rounds and at the end I don't feel any pain, thanks Tony! Your experience and your lessons, especially in this period with gym closed, mean a lot to all of us. Keep going and I wish you the best!
Glad it was helpful ma man
I needed this. Thanks!
Did you tried this already mate?
@@Tony_Jeffries Yeah, I changed to your style of wrapping and closing the glove with the strap over the wrist to give more support, really helped a lot.
I used to get sore wrists, especially after hooks on the heavy bag, but this fixed it. :) very satisfying.
Another thing I did during the same period was getting a new pair of gloves. In the shop I noticed that some of the models had a way better (tighter) fit around my wrists than the ones I was used to. I didn't knew gloves of same weight (14 oz) and from same manufacturer (Fairtex in this case) could differ so much in fit depending on the model. I have pretty slender joints for my size/weight so I think I need all the support I can get.
Thank you man
Thanks also for watching and leaving a comment
I really Appreciate the advice, I messed up my wrist with a bad lead hook the other day. I wish I knew this stuff years ago
That was awesome
Great job Tony, i injured my wrists about 6 weeks ago amd have been looking up ways to strengthen the wrists and get back in gym. This is highly on time and helpful! 🥊🥊
This should help, let me know how it goes
Tony tells you hes going to do a video...he delivers!
thanks tony
you the MAN!!
If you asked for it mate definitely I will make a video about it.
@@Tony_Jeffries cheers!
This vid is a life saver! As a 43 year old with bad wrists who just took up boxing a month ago, sure enough dinged up my wrist learning uppercuts. Should have been taping them up from the start.... duh.
But don't worry Tony, I still have the left hook to the body working for me :P
Thanks sir🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
Thanks mate for leaving a comment - this helps the channel
@@Tony_Jeffries my pleasure sir

@@Tony_Jeffries will do, my wrists are killing me but your videos are awesome and help me a ton!!
Thanks for the advice. Im 43 and started hitting my sandbag. Totally out of shape and i killed my wrist. 😅 will try this next time and maybe get into shape...one day.
Thanks Again Tony for the inspiration! Feeling great training more. Can you recommend the type and right size gloves for heavy bag work? Thank You!
Thank Tony very useful video👍🥊

Nice one Tony, I will definitely start wrapping my hands this way in the future😊
Sounds good!
All the videos are diamond for beginners as well as professional
Excellent video. Simple and effective.
Glad it was helpful!
Did you tried this already?
This is good stuff. I keep spraining my right wrist on the heavy bag and, boy, does that make me angry...
Thanks sooooooooooo much!
You got injured hands mate?
@@Tony_Jeffries yeah. Right wrist after doing a weird right uppercut angle on a heavy bag. Hurts to do pushups now. I'm taking it easy. Icing it and will wrap better based on your instruction. I may not be pro but boxing and kickboxing is a big part of my life the older I get.
This is very helpful as I have a wrist injury.
Glad u like it
i just got a (probable) sprain doing this exact thing and this helped a lot thanks. any advice on how to heal faster would be awesome but thanks just for this.
I did a lot of damage to all of my joints. I have been looking for something like this, because after a classic wrap and punching on the heavy bag, my wrists were killing me for a week. Thanks.
This video is GOLD. My wrist has been bending with upper cuts and hooks and these tips will stop that dead in its tracks! Thanks again Tony!
Were you able to watch my video how to wrap hands mate?> that will help too
Excellent, thank you very much. I’ve got arthritis is both wrists so this is useful info for me
Good luck, let me
Know how u get on
Thank you for all these protection tips, very interesting 🌟🌟🌟
Glad you like them! Did you tried this already?
@@Tony_Jeffries Yes !! With your technique it's perfect 👊🏻👊🏻
When I was 15 I volunteered to wrap amatuer fighters hands before their fight, mostly fighters who had small to jo support from friends or coaches, ive used multiple techniques however Tonys is my favorite. Strengthens the wrist and makes hands feel like stone 💯
Hi thankyou so much for this video gives me hope to return to the sport i love. What is the tape your using? Thanks
Love the content.
