Damn I ran out of toilet paper
xD wtf
do you wrap yo ass?
You made my day 😂😂
Joey’s Scrotum Hahaha! Oh my god!😂😂🤣🤣 That’s how I always see my white hand wraps as.🧻 Lol!🤣🤣
Me too using toilet paper
I have never boxed in my life but I guess youtube recommendations want me to start 😂😂
hahaha welcome!!!
Idk how old you are but boxing and any other fighting sports are fun like hell just so you know.
@@Melledegroote true
Yeah and dangerous just have the balls to get hit, that's all or face it atleast.
Melle De Groote I just got Into boxing and hell yeah it is!
I swear this was the only tutorial that didn't make handwrapping feel like a mistery of the faith. Thanks, Johnny! Loved the method
hahahahaha. i'm so glad this helped you. and yeah, there's 101 ways to wrap a hand. keep trying different ones.
That's hilarious! Mystery of the faith, right? I have large hands so 200" isn't enough for me. My wrists are all messed up because they don't get enough support with the way I wrap my hands.
Helpful tip so you can remember
3 times around the wrist
3 times around the hand
3 x’s
3 times around the knuckles
and that is it if you have any left over just wrap around wrist hand etc.
The thing that helps me remember is 3,333 four things three times
hahaha yes, and thumb lock!
Oh ya 😅
Thanks!!
The main rules are 3 4s
@@expertboxing, yes this is an important part, also, it's useful to remember to roll them up the right way as well, otherwise you'll be putting the wrap around your hands the wrong way.
This was extremely helpful, everybody's all "who did your hands?.. they are beautifully wrapped" said one of the girls that's into boxing, and I'm all.... "I Did".... as heroic music played in the background.
Hahahha!
Hahaha thats nice man. Chamring fella right here.
Thank you for the r/thishappened lulz
Airplane theMonk r/thathappened*
Did everybody clap as well?
I lost blood flow and my index finger fell off, should I secure it back with the wrap or get help?
Duct tape
Super glue, it's better than duct tape so you won't have to worry about it falling off again
Scotch tape works just as well
Dont listen to them it happened to me too I just stapled it back
Squwell what kind of staples did you use? mine didnt work for some reason
I don't understand why people downvote videos for no reason. This was concise, and clear...!
Perhaps accidental. Perhaps a hater or just immature. Thanks, Johnny.
@@expertboxing most likely SJWs who believe being fit makes us "n@z1s". 😒 Anyway, i managed to do my left hand perfectly, but had to rewire my brain to do it on the right hand for today's session lol 😆 😆 but i managed to do it. Thanks dude, your video really helped.
@@HarosOfStyx I was sat here confused as shit wondering why it wasn't working, till I realised I was doing my right hand how he was doing his left lol...
@@tomhardy116 i know right lol there's a video for the left hand, but youtube won't let me post it. Just do what he does in this one, and pretend it's a mirror ☺
@@HarosOfStyx yeah I got it sorted within about 5 mins, pretty much got it now (wrote it down in my phone just in case I forget lol). I've always been used to having someone else do my wraps, so just never really remembered how to do it properly.
First Hand wraps just came in the mail, and this tutorial has been extremely helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!
Johnny, nice video! Best wrap I've tried yet. Easy to remember and simple. I still got the crap beat out of me but I'm not holding the wrap responsible. Thanks!
Lol, funniest testimonial ever. "I still got my ass beat but great wrap! Will be back for more!"
Joe Johnston you will sometime
imma let you hold up to that bro xD
Hahahahaha!!! Nice one!
Please how long is your boxing bandage I want an answer please❤❤
Will this method work for hitting slabs of meat in my freezer?
Gee Squared Bodybuilding as long as you dont break the ribs!
ok
Only if you play Eye of the Tiger on a boom box.
I love the rocky references 😂🔥
Dillary Clump 😂😂😂
I have issues on my right wrist (previous weight lifting injury) and this boxing wrap has helped cushion the wrist from the shock absorbed from the heavy bag. Thank you!
Thank you. This was the most straight forward wrap I have seen. Definitely going to practice now.
Why can't all tutorial be this detailed and fast
UA-cam rewards $$ for videos over 10 mins. So most videos nowadays are all filler.
not everyone so kind.....
Monetary reasona
wrap it before u tap it!!
Wrong video!
expertboxing 😭
Thank you! I have been trying to get my wraps right for weeks. This was the best and easiest to follow I’ve seen.
11 years later, and the best tutorial yet. Thanks 🙏
thanks, really glad you liked it
Typical boxing instructional video; with the sound of skipping in the background.
Hahahhaa, yes! You can always hear skipping and also speedbag in every legit boxing gym.
It's a good sign
expertboxing Hi, do you have advice for what length wraps I should get? I train kickboxing twice a week just for general fitness (not competing or anything). My wrists, thumb & pinky hurt after sessions (especially with upper cuts!) so was advised wraps. I'm petite, about 1.5m tall 🙈 so figured 1.5m wraps would be more than enough, but I've run out of wrap following this video. 😕 Do you *have* to go round 3 times at the wrist etc? Thank you! Great video!
@@fp7770 I'm very late and I'm sure you have had instruction already, but all of the wrap patterns are necessary up until 2:00. Wrapping the wrist is just as important as wrapping the knuckles, and if your wraps cant accommodate the complete pattern then you need to up scale them. Better to chip in for better suited gear, than to experience the pain (and potential injury) of a crumpled wrist.
@@GypsySlyp Thank you for the response. I was just looking for this topic answer in the comments.
Could you reframe the second part of your message? Do you recommend one purchases a longer wrap even with a smaller hand/with the extra wrap to use?
Thanks for making the video from the perspective of looking down at our own hands. Makes it much easier to understand. Now if you could just use the same perspective and show us how to tie a neck tie!
Bill Blaskey Ha....I'll do that when I learn how to do it myself. :)
It comes in handy at your wedding! :D
skotiskiller You ruined it.
David Williams Why?
You know, Google is probably on to me.
For the last few days I have been resaerching on how to use guns, the typws of guns, how to sew yourself up, how to sew others up, how to relocate dislocated shoulders, how to wrap your hands up, and all types of other shit.
In reality I just want to write a story.
hahahaha
@@expertboxing Holy shit, just realized this is from 9 fricking years ago. Thanks for replying and hearting my comment 9 years later. I am honored.
@@cezar3169 what
For beginners I highly recommend playing this in 0.5 speed to save yourself a lot of frustration ;)
just pause the video lol
Lol this was so easy to understand at first
Bro I ran out of wrap.
i just wanted to write, is this wrap 20 metars because i ron out as well
riad zalihic same and i am using the 2 meter one , with another way it's enough but not like this idk
LOL
14 ft? For each hand? No wonder why fools be trying to knock each other out.Shit is expensive.
less wrap.. less fap.. lol
Well now my left hand looks amazing but my right hand looks like crap.
***** try doing it the other way around first maybe that will help a bit
Update: I have been boxing for 2 years now, and my right hand is finally starting to come together.
JV after 2 years😭😭😭
JV after two years, do you still forget your roll of quarters?
JV lmao
Hey Johnny! I just got my first handwrap to start training seriously. Before this i used normal bandages, but now i have professional bandages. You helped me trough this and i am so grateful!
This served me well back then when I started Boxing at the age of 15.
Anyone else watching this even though they don't box
im the free standing bag heavy weight champion of my living room for last 6 days

Meh
I've always been curious about the hand wrapping stuff. I'd always assumed it was about padding the knuckles a bit while preventing injuries like wrist sprains or something.
Me
Awesome video. I've watched a couple but this has been the best - really clear and easy to follow. Thanks expert boxing!
This is by far one of my favorite wraps!
thanks man! watched this on the fly at the gym and it got the job done
Thanks! That was clear and very helpful to us starter boxers. Much appreciated!
Glad I could help!
Johnny, great video. I'm just starting out and this is knowledge I need. Thanks again!
I watched this video back then when i started training and now it's in my recommendations 7 years later
Same here
I started boxing a few months ago (amateur, just to stay in shape sort of thing) and I watch this every time before my class. It's become a sort of ritual. Great tutorial, good vibes. Thanks a bunch!
The best method I've used so far; thanks
nice video, a while ago i was on youtube for a video like this, surprisingly there was no video. Thanks for uploading, i learn best from videos because I can pause and rewind as much as i like. Now i don't have to bug people to do it for me!
Perfect. Best wrap intro I've seen Thank you.
Very helpful. After watching this video twice I was able to get a nice, tight, professional looking wrap. Tomorrow is my first day training. I can't wait. Thanks
The best hand wraping video i found. Thanks.
Best wraping method, in my opinion. Nice, solid fist and secure wrist. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! The instructions were clear, easy to understand, and I also appreciated the explanation at the end of why you wrap. Very helpful!
Thanks and glad you like it.
Simple but still took a while to find a clear concise vid. This one's the best, thanks!
This was extremely clear and concise. Thank you very much!
Tying hand wraps is something that I'm really bad at actually LOL. This video made it a hell of a lot easier, and I say thank you. I'm sure I'll be referencing your videos in the future, so thanks in advance!
Thank you its a great wrap looks comfortable, and also thanks for explaining the purpose of the wrap.
Excellent. This is the best hand wrapping tutorial on UA-cam
Tried this for myself, very simple and easy to follow 👍🏽
Great and helpful video. A lot of wraps in UK shops seem to be 3.5m, which I find I run out after the 2nd thumb wrap even with my small hands. Definitely purchasing some 4.5m wraps. Thanks!
Even tho this video was 8 years ago it still helped me thanks bro 👍👍
I've been using this method for a year now and it's the best one so far, thanks man!!
Thank you so much for posting this!! I started hitting the heavy bag in my workouts about 2 weeks ago!! I use gloves for the bag and I always wanted to know how to wrap my hands properly!! I was wrapping my hands very incorrectly!lol Thanks again! Very helpful!!!
make sure u wrap ur hands to anyone who dont! i didnt for kickboxing and i screwed up my wrists! now i wrap them and it gives them support and way better!
Yes, everybody wrap your hands!
I dont wrap my hands when i fight.... i wrap them when im punching heavy bags when im training like my instructor told me too..iv been in many fights never wrapped my hands thats fuckin gay. just doing it to protect them when im punching heavy bags for hours at training.
iwrotefuck how about fucking fight me and find out.. id fucking wreck u bud.
iwrotefuck no i think not.. and hmm not often but im sure thats what would happen to you after kicking me.
Alaina Dutill Do you wrap your hands traditional style or thai style?
This worked great! I wrapped my hands for the first time ever following your video and it feels tight and good. Thank you Johnny.
Oh my god thank You. I've been struggling with it for a while. That was so Perfect
This is actually the best method I have ever seen
My 13-year old brother just picked up boxing. Used your method to wrap hands shown here in the video. Awesome stuff! Keep up these great informational videos!

I'm starting boxing tommorow and this was really helpful!
Thank you so much! Very helpful. Saved video until i get it by heart.
i've been using this for 3 years now! Thanks man!
The end bit with the extra x's is pretty damn useful. Now I check for the longest handwraps for the added protection.
Thank you so much i tried various methods to wrap my hands and this one is by far the best one,I’m a beginner btw
Excellent. Simple and straightforward. Thank you.
I started boxing a week ago and bought wraps yesterday. This video made wrapping so simple - thanks!
awesome! best of luck to you, jana
Been looking for a wrap suiting me. Just found it. Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad I could help!
I am going to try this when I am going for my next Boxing Session! Thanks!!
This really helped as protection against blisters while I draw! Thanks man! my hands feel so much better!
I call bullshit on that. No artist is ever going to go through the trouble of wrapping their hand like a boxer to assist with holding a pencil or paintbrush. Your hand would be so inflexible that any precision work with a pen would be impossible.
@@ericwoods6286 yea I’ve never heard of artists wrapping their hands before
Looks like a great way to do it, Johnny! I didn't realize that going around the thumb like that reverses it and locks it into place. I'm going to have to incorporate that into my wrap style from now on. All I'm doing is hitting the bag, so my biggest concern is my wrist; I mainly wrap for it and not my hand. But I've noticed a solid hand leads to a solid wrist, so its all important. You're a great source of boxing info, bro; appreciate it!
Best video on the subject!
OMG THANK YOU!!! this is really helpful for me.
i watched 100 of these videos of how to wrap hands and this was by far the best one!!!! thank you so much
Thank you, Veronica!
Damn so much nostalgia in these hand wraps man
This is very helpful, should have got wraps before my first session the other day, learned that one the hard way 😂.
Thanks! Best hand wrap tutorial on YT! 🔥

I love this method!! I have really small, spiny hands and all the videos use up the wraps easily because of big hands, While this tutorial show how to even do it for small hands!! Thank you so much again :)
you're very welcome!
Thank you very much for your help and support ❣️
Thanks, very clear and helpful tutorial!
This feels amazing TAT
As a 17 year old wanting to protect my hands against my bag, this will help me for sure 100%
Nice one man! Feels so much better to how I was wrapping it! 👍
Thanks I've been struggling with this for a while
This is crazy but I have never wrapped between the fingers for training or sparring, this feels so much better, thanks
You're welcome!
My daughter just started boxing she is 12 and her trainer showed her once and I watched but obviously I did not remember correctly because we have been starting it off incorrectly, thank you for this upload! I will be able to show her the right way now!
awesome!
Awesome technique, thank you !
Awesome video thanks for the help! Clear, quick and easy…doesn’t get better! 🙌🏽👌🏽
Great to hear!
Thanks for this, it's my favorite method.
As a kid I would always watch my brother train, I was interested in learning how to box but my mom disapproved for some reason and made me feel awful wanting to but I'm grown now so I bought a pair of 120 cm hand wraps and training gloves. Thank you.
good luck, juan!
120cm is not enough, get 4,5 meters atleast
Thanks brother I just got hand wraps and plan to take boxing so i'm going to practice from your video!
Thank you. This was very helpful.
Good one can't close my fucking hand
Well then you're doing it wrong
+DarkSamuraiHD keep your fingers spread out while you wrap
when u do the X make a fist will work 200% :)
wow good way
DarkSamuraiHD 😂😂😂😂
Wow, this is way better than the method my boxing coach taught me. Thanks.
You're welcome.
expertboxing hey man I don't have enough tape for running those 3 last ones around the knuckles, after those 3x's around the fingers, I got limited wrap left, how do you think I should close the wrap around my hand? (with one roll after 3x's)
Christopher Tom you only have to do it 1 time around the fingers.
Christopher Tom Im with exactly the same problem xD
Christopher Tom If your hand is too big or you bought a shorter hand wrap, try to buy the 180" hand wrap. Lessen the thumb padding and wrist padding too. Don't follow every rule in the book, just feel that your hand , knuckles got enough protection should be okay.
I had watched so many videos of this topic but i didn't learn any of it
Thank you my teacher❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much I did my own Way of wrapping my hands cause The other tutorials didn't make sense except for yours and my own way wasn't as Effective or good it was always loose so thank you my good sir!
just did my first one from watching this, thanks!
***** ^wtf
Thanks a lot man ❤️💯🥊
