@@ryu-ken but was he? No. Why not compete? Why not show the world how great he is in Competition, that’s the point right? Unless he doesn’t want to show us great Olympian potential... which he hasn’t. I really don’t understand the debate of him not showing his super insane genetics in a proven COMPETITION.

Iam wondering why is it so important to you?you better get another dumbell in your hand and start pumping.lol .Jealousy and ignorance often make people making comments who only please them selves....The bad side is too many people....actually most of the population ( that doesnt know anything about bodybuilding ) beleive that bodybuilders are all on steroids....that belief is founded on stupidity..i was 16 years old when i started training in a gym..6 months later the people from my village were commenting with hes on drugs..lol..i was 73 kg ...6 months later i was 77 kg..naturally so it just shows how stupids people can be..Now iam 245 pounds off contest , 53 years old ..I trained for 37 years on and off and iam healthy and i don't look huge but in proportion comparing IFBB guys...because i'm natural...people have in mind drug drug only way to grow..,wrong ..its absolutely false...i know hundreds of natural guys who look great ...but in their clothes you woudn't know...as soon as the clothes drop down you see what a naural can accomplish...most of guys at the gym will never reach this level ass they dont have the mind set and their their pain threshold is low...then not everybody can be a bodybuilder...we are all made differently,..thats why some play ping pong:)

Lets say ...How many Ronnie Coleman do we know? Everybody was eating , training , recovering .and taking substances. .,Ronnie was probably doing everything extreme and his consistence never went down...so at the end of the day he won 8 Mr Olympia...why? he was unique. why? Mike O'Hearn has been doing it to extremes as well...There is a huge difference between training hard and training smart without any illegal substances....Hes unique as well his dedication and ability to use his tools a perfect way in order to progress without drugs...who train like that these days? train like shit look like shit ..lol....I'm a forever natural bodybuilder and i don't compare myself to Mike...even i entered the same Mr. Universe the year later ...Mike doesn't look like any of the IFBB pro bodybuilders. Its black and white...I can only imagine if he was using illegal substances he will be even bigger ......why is it a joke? j joke comparing to what? who??to you ?to most of bodybuilders...?that will be interesting to know how you judging this way ?thanks

One of the best podcasts I've listened to, to date. Thank you Hany Rambod, very refreshing to hear two bodybuilding and life-experienced 'been there, done that' authorities just chat openly about the importance of lifestyle choices. I just simply love it Hany, and I love that Mike O'hearn is a living example of a genuinely Natural Bodybuilder. He made that choice 40 years ago and was entrenched in the 'mind-set' and lifestyle because of his early environment. It later became his hunger and passion. The 'chase' or the 'pursuit', rather than 'winning a title/contest' at all costs was his approach. That has been my approach all my life too.
It is a choice afterall - to take or not to take drugs. I chose not too.
Like Mike, I was just genetically very strong since childhood. Kids at school would take their shirts off at lunch time to play sport but when I took my shirt off, the kids used to say that I was 'showing off' and that I looked like "Arnold'. Thing is I hadn't stepped in to a gym before or even lifted weights until I was 19.
LIke Mike, if I was able to build muscle quite easily by just eating right and training heavy, why do I need to take steroids etc. I am 45 years old and I have been training with heavy weights since the first time I picked up weights and have always stuck to the basics: Squats, Deadlifts, Barbell Rows, Incline Bench/Db Press, Military Presses & Chins.
    I still :
    squat - 180kg (400lbs) for 6-8 reps (working set, followed by drop-set)
    deadlift - 180kg for 6-8 reps
    Incline Bench Press - 110kg (245lbs) for 6-8 reps
I weigh 220 lbs @ 13.5% bodyfat (I try to keep under 15% year round). I stand at 5'7 1/2" (171cm) and have very good muscle 'flow'.
I've always wondered what I would have looked like if I had decided to take drugs and steroids. I will never know but I assume it would be my shape, only bigger. My main goal for almost 3 decades now is more 'balance & symmetry". ... to create my 'beauty' ... and in doing this, I find my 'truth'.
For me, the principles of bodybuilding are life-affirming when done right. I believe in the 'tortoise' approach to building muscles. It is much more delibrate and requires far more patience. For example, it took me 10 years to get to my first World Natural Bodybuilding Championships in New York, USA (2007). I was part of the Australian team and I competed in the middle-weight. I made the Finals (Top 5) and pose-down. I ended up with 4th place, beating George Peterson "da-Bull" & 2018 Arnold USA, & 2020 Tampa Pro 212 Champ. George got 5th.
For me, realising a dream to be 'one of the best in the world' from the moment I picked up my first dumbell at 19 was a dream come true. Making the Finals and being ranked 4th in the world (natural) was a bonus.
I repeated the effort again in 2008 (making the Top 5).
I enjoyed every moment of that journey and it is wonderful to see George making his name in the IFBB ranks since then. Since that time, I have owned and manage a Family Gym (which I sold 5 years ago) and have developed proven "Lifestyle Programs" and Coach teens, men and women of all walks of life, by helping them 'build their bridges from where they are to where they desire to be.'
Thank you Hany Rambod. You've got a regular listener to your show in me now. About time we have a podcast of intelligence like this.
Keep up your great work ... and thank you to Mike for being such a sport and allowing himself to be vulnerable. You've got a great voice and interview style Hany.
    Cheers from Sydney, Australia

TIMELINE 17:30 : "I believe you because I have no way of knowing". "I'm stilling doing guest posing so I'm doing something right". "If you believe or not, it's training and nutrition. Keep focusing on that". Both of these things are not arguments against being on PED's. An easy way to clear up any doubt is to get an independent lab to publish the results. Personally, I don't care either way, only that if he is on something, it would be morally wrong to encourage a belief that buying his products could naturally get you to that size. I think he's a great ambassador for being healthy and working out. And watching his power bodybuilding is very motivating.

Agreed. I don't think he's natty, but it doesn't really matter. Most people who are enhanced will never look as good as him. Combo of great genetics along with consistency and killer mentality! 🙌💪🔥

So many presume mike ohearn to be a liar because many think his size is due to taking something that is going to enhance his size. If he is lying he is lying to himself. The right diet and the right amount of food necessary to build size will enhance growth and if someone has been doing this for most of their lives, in this case 40 years, you'll going to grow. One thing many don't realise is, mike ohears life revolves around bodybuilding / powerlifting. Jealousy or offendedness is no help reaching one's goals

Great interview ...Great content from 2 great legends ....Looking for another one soon ....Cheers Hany ..
I believe you must be passionate , have a strong will power and be consistent at all the time .A goal is necessary to move forward .To be a great bodybuilder whatever you natural or enhanced you must have many qualities ..I don't believe in short cuts however I'm a big believer in health and longevity in bodybuilding and in sport in general.I was fortunate when I was 16 years to like only classic physiques with a nice proportion, symmetry and wide shoulders , great core muscles and a upper body in harmony with the lower body .I had no interest to use illegal and dangerous products as My health is paramount and I have never been interested to be a big monster .My passion since I was 16 years old is the same now at 52 years old..I was lucky in bodybuilding as the judges appreciated my natural physique .I kept on training smart and hard to make sure I will bring on stage the package the judges were looking for..INBA has been the federation I competed with since 1994 to 2015 ..I have to say I was training on and off and I was the kind of bodybuilder who decided to train super hard for 8 months prior a contest and grow lean muscle instead to have a off season and getting fat ...I always made sure I took 3 to 4 months off to regenerate my body and mind .Mike has always been a role model in the bodybuilding , fitness and business ...In 1995 I've heard Mike won the Mr Universe 1995 ABA/INBA .In 1995 I won the Australia title overall INBA and placed 2nd at the world cup behind great americans bodybuilders ..I set my next goal and went to compete in Las Vegas in 1996 with the ABA/INBA the same contest that Mike won.Great memories as I placed runner up Mr Universe in tall class...I was not heavy at all as a natural , for 5ft 11 1/2 @ 187 pounds but my condition and shape was spot on...Anyway 24 years later with lots of up and down I managed to be 244 pounds (not in contest shape ) ....I could imagine to be on stage once again at the Mr Universe at 244 pounds ( I'm retired since 2016 after 93 contests in France , Australia ,Malaysia and USA , have a Natural Pro card but I never competed as a Pro as I never felt I could go anywhere with my physique...classic wasn't on in the 90s..shame ....) ...Now at 220 pounds...close to my contest shape...It's an ongoing transformation and when it's healthy it's fun....Long life to natural athletes and Mike keep on sharing what you doing because you are a great individual not just a bodybuilder.... ( I should talk to you when I saw you at Gold's gym Venice Beach right after the Mr universe in december 1996 ..and yes you are a great humungus unit..lol..
