What he said about eating in the morning before training even though you might not be hungry is very true. I tried going to the gym one morning without eating because I wasn't hungry and by the time I got home from my workout I was seeing blurry and getting symptoms of hypoglycemia.

A lot of "clean" eaters have no idea that eating clean doesn't have to mean bland. If you learn how to sear, sauté and season, you can eat clean and eat with a LOT of great flavor

Years ago when I fought professionally I was was training 4-5 hours throughout the day, 6 days per week. I was able to maintain about 8-10% bodyfat at 5'11" and 192-195lbs. I was consuming 5,300-5,000 calories per day. There were times I was so tired from training I hated eating, but the hungry pains several hours later if I skipped a meal would wake me from a dead sleep.
@@potatowaffle5653 There were days I did hit between 5,500 and 6,000, but I was sometimes just too tired to eat. As far as today, I'm 45 and now a business and marketing consultant. My training has switched to distance running. I can get away with only 2,500-3,000 today.

Thanks for the great video. I apply a lot of what you said with the off-season and bulky phase. Can’t do the same amount of cardio year round, won’t work when you need to get leaner. Some of my friends who are very big and muscular and in phenomenal shape taught me this and the dieting aspect years ago. And seeing is believing. Training properly, eating right, supplementation, rest, and sleep all must be done in order to optimize your gains. I also loved all the valuable information on the foods you eat and recommend. Just started eating a actual big meal for breakfast, and at first it was hard to eat and now it's been about 5 days and this morning it was easier to eat, so my body is starting to adapt and Mike is 100 % correct about what he is saying to you all

Look up the myths around LDL cholesterol, there are basically two types. LDL and oxidized LDL. The latter is damaging when it comes into contact with glucose pretty much and causes artery issues. Generally speaking, a high LDL is healthy except if there are too many of the oxidized variants present which are not healthy.

The evening meal should be filled with recovery nutrients and casein protein sources as it promotes maximum recovery and sleep. The deeper and longer the sleep-8hrs should give the best recovery plan and hormonal levels. This meal should not be too late as you don't want a full stomach as it would disturb your sleep. except when you are overactive thinking, eat some food and the body goes into digestion mode. Mike gives some good advice and experience is a good teacher.
You did get bigger . It’s not about being sliced , it’s about just as you say . Build then slice or a bunch of muscle gets lost and biceps turn into hot dogs . I did as you said and saved the cardio and kept the weight and it really did work . 52 and my own version of myself . Out here looking like a jacked golfer 😂.
I'm 54. 6f2 225 This is exactly how I stay healthy and strong. Been traing for 30 years. Just hit 250 and scaled back to 225. All I did was cut the rice. Seems nuts but rice blows me up. Healthy fats = high T. But not with out 15k iu of d3. 250 to 500 magnesium and beef organs or capsules for the k2. That made the biggest difference in my life. More that any supplement. Keep in mind coffe strips magnesium out of the body. So be warned.

I admire what you do and how you look esp...ESP for your age AND length of time that u have been able to retain it at such a high level. That being said, understand that in NO way am I being a hater or sending shots or anything of the sort. However, I know that you are a very bright guy and know 99% of the ins and outs of this "training game". Even with all the best gear, top scientists and top nutritionists it takes an unimaginable amount of training, work, and focus to get anywhere even near your level.... With what u have been able to achieve its flat out astonishing. Very very obvious to those of us in the know that you have put your life into the hard work. ..none of us would think any less of u and as a matter of fact you could patent what u have done and let the masses know so maybe we cld try. .....cuz clearly u are on to something..something special. . Share it with us. All good stuff. What I’m surprised about is the carbs are only 30% of the total calories. Only because he talks so much about carbohydrates being important for longevity. I was thinking they would be more in the 40% - 50% range.

The evening meal should be filled with recovery nutrients and casein protein sources as it promotes maximum recovery and sleep. The deeper and longer the sleep-8hrs should give the best recovery plan and hormonal levels. This meal should not be too late as you don't want a full stomach as it would disturb your sleep. except when you are overactive thinking, eat some food and the body goes into digestion mode. Mike gives some good advice and experience is a good teacher.

You did get bigger . It’s not about being sliced , it’s about just as you say . Build then slice or a bunch of muscle gets lost and biceps turn into hot dogs . I did as you said and saved the cardio and kept the weight and it really did work . 52 and my own version of myself . Out here looking like a jacked golfer 😂.

This is exactly how I stay healthy and strong. Been traing for 30 years.
Just hit 250 and scaled back to 225.
All I did was cut the rice. Seems nuts but rice blows me up. Healthy fats = high T. But not with out 15k iu of d3.
250 to 500 magnesium and beef organs or capsules for the k2.
That made the biggest difference in my life. More that any supplement.
Keep in mind coffe strips magnesium out of the body. So be warned.
