Money is an intrinsic part of watches. A lot of us would love to own a Tudor, but not all of us CAN own a Tudor. To the end of owning a luxury timepiece, saving and saving up money are important considerations so we won’t go bankrupt buying a watch. Expensive pieces become and investment for some, and if some need to sell for whatever reason, they’d obviously like to sell for as high as they reasonably can. Nothing wrong with considering money in horology. The two are inextricable.
The AD in Valencia,Spain obtained a BB58 gilt in 2019 for me when there were wait lists in North America. It was sized for me while I enjoyed a glass of champagne and a chat with the agent. At the reckoning he had deducted 10% and secured a loyal customer. The resale value never came into the equation. It has been worn daily and I'm not tired of looking at it.Seems most other buyers feel the same.
Just recently bought GMT BB for $4900 at Jomashop. Beautiful watch for that discounted price. Thanks for input. The Reverse Panda still holding up bought from my AD at msrp about month ago.
I think I've learned a few things in my watch journey. I've learned that sometimes the unpopular watch not being sold today can be the most desirable and sought after watch, tomorrow. You never know which kind/style watch will become desirable in the future. Remember when no one wanted to buy the Tudor Prince? Try to find one now.
The Tudor Style in black is also a hell of a watch. The main problem with this watch is that you dont recognize the quality from the pictures. It looks like a Casio or Citizen with this typical dolphin hands. But once you touch and wear the watch, you feel the great deal. Downfall is the model name. Why do you name a watch „Style“.
A lot of small time flippers jumped on the Tudor bandwagon with the chrono especially though eventually all hot Tudors have cooled. Had economic conditions not taken a turn for the worse the game would have continued but for Tudor at least flipping is over for now. The BB Pro is all over the secondary market at inflated prices but few are buying. Already realistic sellers are taking a small loss and getting out while they can.
I know most enthusiasts love the BB line, but for the money, I always loved the Style, 1926, and Royal lines, especially for under $2K. I hope to add one of those to my collection someday. Thanks for the video Oleg!
I paid full retail for my royal black 38 from an AD. Should have tried for a discount had I known. Either way I’m super happy with it. That’s all that matters.
@@Alex-mh9sm I don’t think in Australia after asking around Tudor does discounts. They need to protect the brand. And it’s already a great value watch. This guy’s opinions are nebulous. Grain of salt in.
LOL! People complain all the time. No matter what. If Tudor reduced the price by half, people would complain it is too cheap. There are markets around the world where all Tudor sports models are still wait listed.
I think the discount is driven by the loss of the Tudor warranty. People are willing to pay more for 5 years warranty. Jomashop only has a two year warranty I think.
This is 100% the reason and I'm surprised they didn't pick up on it. Jomashop is grey market, people pay less for grey market for the reasons you've said
Just bought a BB58 gilt from the Tudor boutique in London yesterday. I asked about discounts - nothing happening on ANY models if you go that route FYI...
This is why I take You Tubers with a pinch of salt! They hype these watches up! When they're not available! And when they're available they put them down🤣
I recently got an unworn early run 2018 gilt 58 on bracelet for an excellent price, like the best I've ever seen after years of stalking prices. Would take a while to lose on it, but that's not really something I dwell on. It's my favourite watch and I basically spent 3 years longing for one. It's staying with me.
Here's the thing w the precious metal 58s I feel like they aren't as sought after because the watch doesn't come on a bracelet when let's be honest, if you're buying a precious metal diver you're either going to want it on a bracelet or rubble strap. Not a leather strap.
The shop where I sometimes trade my watches is not very "happy" to buy Tudor. He says "Eveyone wants more than 3000 on trade-in, and no one wants to buy a used one for more than 3000".
Pretty much all modern Tudors depreciate in value over time. Just look at the vintage Tudor subs! prices are up there and if it's with snowflake hands it's on par with a Rolex Sub.
lol it's 2023 and at my local ADs tudor BB58 blue on bracelet still has a long waitlist and I tried to ask for a slight discount (2022 price) for the silver model which is available they say no way
I just wish next year they release a BB54 in full bronze 🙌 in bracelet. It must be another boutique edition, and I will buy it immediately without thinking 🤔 for a second about retail value. Also, the MN FXD is a piece of history and once they stop the engraved MN colab it would hype again.
Why is anyone confused. All these prices came up in a world cheap money, bitcoin, excess. Manufacturers and fans pumped up the market. All you watch collectors contributed to the hype. Now the money is drying up, there are only so many watches people want to own. Prices keep going up. Bubble is about to pop. Money makes the collectors communities live or die.
The Tudor royal in Asian market , it just a stepping stone for getting a Rolex. u can even find these at grey market for 50% off , and yes , it’s new, not even used !
3.5k is about as much as I would be willing to dish out for a Tudor GMT. As far as homages with ETA movements are concerned, there's better value offerings on the market, in my mind.
😂 if you are happy with second hand I only buy brand New AD watches, i want to know where it’s been, and how it’s been treated, and guess what, even if it ended up being worth a £1 i really wouldn’t give a F, the watch world is full of Chislers trying to flip for profit I hope they end up wearing the losses every time 😂
I have had a few Tudors and my take on Tudor is that they make them just flawed enough to not be great but good enough to convince yourself that they are great. The perfect homage company with great value to take the edge of never getting a Rolex at retail.
The difference is still only 1-2k. In 2022 that unfortunately it's not alot of money. If your in a position where that amount will hurt you financially then get a Tissot.
I can see with the release of the new Pelagos39, the price of the BB58 will go even lower. TBH, at the rate of the current new releases from Tudor, all of their watches will depreciate fast 🤣
Buying a watch with the interest being how much it retains value is kinda wack. "I hope this reward for all the hard work and striving to better myself stays expensive"
Surprised by the Blue BB58 as I prefer that to the black & gilt. Tried one on and loved it, might just start saving my pennies now they are mote affordable. I really like the last one you featured the style too, even more affordable! Thanks Oleg 👍
I’m not that surprised about the watches on the list. I was never sure why they created a solid gold version of the BB58. If they wanted to really spice it up they could have skeletonised it 😅
Brand perception holds, who'd buy a 2nd hand "poor mans rolex", some may think. Never understood the fawning over tudors, glad 2nd hand prices reflects the true desirability of this brand.
So what are we really saying here? Don't buy a Tudor if you want vaule retention! Archie Luxury would of broke this down in Secs! S**ter 🤣 Iam joking! Decent brand not for me! But decent. I like the Plealgos LH 42mm and that North Flag that's about it.
If you're worried about depeciation, then you're more into money than watches.........................................
Exactly This!
Exactly
No. It means you are not a rich guy and take care of one's money situation
Odd comment. All he’s saying is do not pay RRP because you don’t have to.

Are you saying they didn't offer you a discount or they don't offer discounts at all on the BB58?
Correction: the Tudor Royal line up is powered by the Sellita SW200 movement.
I’m thinking about buying the Pelagos 39 but it’ll probably be like the bb58 and after 6-12 months you can get a discount.
No ETA movements in Royal, it’s Sellita. Almost the same thing of course.
Saw all the models at airports while traveling.. BB pro, ceramic, 58 all versions, pelagos etc.

I bought the tudor BB 58 39mm on leather strap for $3,250 brand new on jomashop about 3 weeks ago, the metal bracelet was at $3,600
Further signs that economies are in trouble...
Thanks, I'll keep looking for another flash sale on Jomashop for the Royal 41 Blue, at $1850 or whatever I'm a buyer. They were like 2300 this week.
Here's the thing w the precious metal 58s I feel like they aren't as sought after because the watch doesn't come on a bracelet when let's be honest, if you're buying a precious metal diver you're either going to want it on a bracelet or rubble strap. Not a leather strap.
Good point. Also $16K for a Tudor is a big ask, regardless of the precious metal.
Tudor watch is the best in the world if combine the price and the material. No doubt.!
The Pelagos 39 will eventually fall into the same category. It's hot now, but titanium just isn't as popular as steel.
And what do you think 🤔 would be the future of the FXD ?

Another great video brother, crazy how Tudor can be purchased at a discount yet the big bro… it’s a huge delta.

Tudor is hitting the market around $2k -$5k, few stops below omega, rolex, zenith.
