Those are great sizes love how Tudor has made it so the watches can fit very small wrist to large, something I really disliked about the 2020 Rolex releases where the watches were either way too small or too large.

I like it. I really like it. I love that 70's oysterquartz style with integrated bracelet, and the movement is reliable and easy to service. You know the quality of the bracelet will be excellent because its a Tudor, as will the fit and finish, and at less than $2500, its a great deal for an entry level luxury watch. I'm hoping to add the blue date version to my collection someday. Great video Oleg! Always appreciate your opinions!

Chris Kiederer The problem with these Eta movements though is that they're becoming increasingly dated i.e. the short, 38 hour power reserves. I'd really like to see them get closer to the new 70 hour benchmark. IIRC the 2824 was first introduced in the early eighties.

The bezel is so cool. Really like the dial with Roman Numerals. Looks timeless at a reasonable luxury price. My only beef is the size. If it were just 40mm. Not sure why the vodoo about a 39 or 40 mm dial, but seems so many companies make either too small or too big dials. Anyway, I would wear it.

  • @drzaius844

I love this watch. It’s derivative of ‘70s glamour, sure, but it does so very well, and it’s charming. I dislike the day complication - you truly have to be a royal to not know what day it is. Guess that explains the name. But the 38mm blue dial, perfection. Also really like the black/gold. I think Tudor has a lot of style and if people don’t get it yet, that’s more a function of most folks having poor taste or no sense of humor or fun - like those hating on the new OPs.

  • @aleksandarmarkovic4992

I like it, it's not some copy cat rolex model with a different brand logo slapped on the dial, yes it borrows some Geral Genta design cues but is very much its own thing, very inovativne and bold, unlike all of the new rolex models.

I think your comments that it’s ideal for the younger generation of potential watch lovers are spot on. I bought one for my 22 yr old as a graduation gift. It’s a good price point for a starter piece and should be reasonable to service in the future with the Selita movement inside. It’s also very nice to look at IMO.

I’m 18 and am choosing between this and a used Prince Date. The design of this watch makes me think of the Oysterquartz which appeals as a Day-Date Oysterquartz is my grail along with also being quite fond of the hidden clasp. Less convinced by the 38 hours of power reserve, mind you…

just by the look of it, it looks like some watch that you can buy off from Aliexpress at $100.00 or so. I am sure that the Tudor quality is there (if you touch and feel and check out the watch personally), but it just looks out of date!!!!! I went to my M.P. Dimitri Rolex dealer in Charleston South Carolina. They showed me a bunch of different Tudors. I have a large wrist (8") and anything under 40mm looks to small. They showed me a 41mm Blackbay that I liked but the watch I really was intrigued by was an old stock Tudor Advisor. It's a really cool alarm watch that is 42mm and list price is almost $7k. Great video I just have one question! Is the gold really solid or capped because I found this scrolling in the comments in another review: "The Black Bay S&G models have solid crowns, bezels and end links while links in the bracelet are capped. The 1926 and Royal lines do differ. The Royal bezels and bracelet links are capped while the crowns are plated which helps assist in keeping the cost more approachable. The 1926 models have solid end links with capped bracelet links and bezels, however the 28mm versions do have solid bezels." Thanks!

I’m hoping to pick up a Black Bay 58 in the next couple of months - and am really looking forward to adding a watch that “stirs my soul” to my collection. Looking at the Tudor Royal, it just doesn’t move me in the same way; it’s OK, it doesn’t offend me, it seems very well-priced - but I don’t think that I will ever end up spending money on one. I would really love to see Tudor's in-house movements trickle down to their other watches. 38 hour power reserve is kinda meh in 2020 - COSC or not.
My "best watch" for 2020 so far is the SPB143J. Seiko did a lot of things right this time. But I reckon Longines' new Spirit line will be my personal pick of the year. They just hit so many things right with that one. The new colorful Rolex OP line is also neat and I'm not really a Rolex guy.

Like your comment a lot esp.your meaning about the inhouse movement in gen...overrated.., indeed and ETA mov.are very 👍.
Plus the service costs of inh.mov.much higher.
For a guy like me liking watches and just not toch enough to buy rhe real high time pieces it is nice to see that Tudor also offers these rel.cheap models so it is for me eg.within reach to buy a timepiece lik Third.

I like it but the Roman numerals is the deal breaker. Not just on this one but on most watches. Isn't it funny though how much we emulate the '70s style when it was probably the worse time for the Swiss watchmakers? Even in those dark times they had created that distinct look.

Bela Deak How doesn't it fit? Tudor has a number of dress watches and this looks a hell a of a lot better than the 'Glamour,' the '1926' and the 'Style.' It might look better in real life. I don't like Eta movements but given the price I'm tempted.

@@willemdeleeuw8094 It is way too flashy and not understated like the glamour or the 1926. And to be honest as i said it just looks cheap in my opinion. It has to many details with the bezel, the roman numerals and the integrated bracelet and therefore ends up looking cheap and also outdated in my opinion and more like some kind of wanna be AP homage or something. And even though the 'style' isnt an original design and basically just a 'date just', that is still way better than this
