Tried a bunch of videos to fix the poorly adjusted Frigidaire lower fridge door - none including this one worked. Fixed it by placing a couple of 5/8" washers on the lower hinge pin and placing the nylon washer on top of them. Been good ever since.

Thank you , it worked perfectly with the metal washer below the original nylon washer - 15 cents

Outstanding! Just what I needed. I subscribed. Now I’ll see if you have one for hinge replacement in case replacement of the washers doesn’t work. And thanks for including the part number for the washers. I have subscribed.

This was very helpful and clear. Thank you so much.
One other thing, that AV logo going across from scene to scene throws the focus off. It's like someone standing up in the movies when it gets to the good part. Otherwise, this was great.

Our fridge has a broken gasket. After I installed a new one, now the door cannot be closed. How to fix it?

  • @12fahq

can I place two or more washers on the bottom hinge? One was installed and the door worked fine until we started adding items to the door. Or could I be dealing with another issue?

Would this same fix work with a full fridge door(no freezer)? Thx if you are still active 9 years later.

It seems to me that putting those washers in one end simply raises the hinge side only. My door needs to be rotated up at the handle end where all the weight is that’s NOT supported and where the door sag is.

Could a bent hinge be why I have a gap on the side? I have changed the gasket which I have thought was the problem now I have noticed the door is dropped to one side.

Use resin or better yet, use slightly bigger screws.
