This is stunning! I love those soft ripples. Especially as we could barely see them until you tilted it into the light & then put that warm light on. Would love to see a waterscape using the ripples like sunlight, as well as more flowers
This is just gorgeous. I love the purple and brass. Love your videos so far. I will keep looking for more of your in depth tutorials. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. 🙌🙌
@@randihart5731 It is, my husband was born in Copenhagen, came to South Africa as a child in the1950's. We married in 1971 and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in June.
I love this flower. I am afraid to try the ripples in case I am terrible at it and I truly want them to work. I do have everything ready to go. The ripples and lines are lovely. I have already fallen in love with brass ink. Thank you.
I LIKE THIS FLOWER WITHOUT A LEAVE. I JUST MADE LAST WEEKEND A SQUIRRELY FLOWER AND I LEFT THE LEAVES AWAY. I TRIES THOSE RIPPLES, BUT THEY DID NOT COME OUT I WANTED THEM. BUT I WILL TRY AGAIN, WHENEVER I AM IN THE FLOW. THIS IS A TEDIOUS WORK ....SOME PEOPLE CAN HANDLE IT. BUT THIS PAINTING IS REALLY GORGEOUS....TFS :)
LOVE this!!! I’m loving learning ripples but I struggle with petals. I can’t seem to get the direction of the lines to meet in the center near the stem. Practice practice practice!! Thanks for making this tut!
I just happened onto your site, so this is the first exposure I’ve had to alcohol ink creativity. I love it. I’m interested in learning what supplies I would need to give this a start.
First time watching ..you have a new subscriber!such beautiful work …I’m just venturing into inks after a few years of acrylics… it’s exciting to try another medium! Looking forward to more videos from you !
Absolutely stunning Randi! I do love t o add brass and could easily be excessive with it, if I'm not careful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Copic markers too! ♥♥♥
This is beautiful! I’ve tried ripples with not much luck. I’ll give it another go! Most of the tutorials I have seen show a heat gun...and I’m really bad with that😂
This is so beautiful and Inspiring, im going to try it thankyou for posting and explaining so well, can I just ask in your purple mix, have you mixed the purple, gold and iso together then added iso to blow it out? x
Beautiful! I’ve been watching videos but haven’t started experimenting with alcohol ink yet. I’ve gathered a few supplies to start. I see others also use brass, is that better than a gold metallic?
You were right my paper that was staining isn't NARA paper it is watercolor paper. Big difference. Now I have some NARA and it completely wipes clean. 🙌🙌
Can you please see if the hair dryer you are using is still available on Amazon and, if so, provide us a link? I have not had much success with a travel hair dryer that's 1000 watts that someone else on UA-cam recommended for alcohol inks nor the Conair 2-in-1 Hot Air Curling Combo that was also recommended by someone on UA-cam for the alcohol inks (though I've had a bit better luck with that one and just take the attachment off). It's been frustrating and I find the hair dryer or curling combo (with brush off) tends to blow the inks still too much even though their wattage is a lot less. I have plenty of alcohol (I think) mixed in with the inks. Any suggestions would be SO appreciated!! Thank you!
So sorry for not answering sooner, I been sick for a long time 😌 have you seen this tutorial? ua-cam.com/video/aYBZilwZE6g/v-deo.htmlsi=RJp6FVpk4WUgEbfP I hope this can help you 😊
Yes it’s 99% isopropyl alcohol. I’m actually going to try out a new type of alcohol soon that is non toxic - if it’s good I’ll be sure to talk about that in a new video
May I ask...what kind of blower is that? It seems like it is a very low air flow? I'm wondering if an air brush would accomplish the same or I would just pick up one like yours. I'm wondering if I can use this for alcohol ink as well as an acrylic pour if it has different power levels. Very cool video/technique by the way. Just love it and have subscribed!
Thank you very much 😊 mine is a Remington volume and curl. The air flow isn’t actually that low, it’s all about how you use it around the ink. I talk about air and heat in this video ua-cam.com/video/QtVB5vXdu_Q/v-deo.html I don’t use an air brush so don’t really know if you could get he same effect
Love the brass effects. Simple but elegant, beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
I watched this video again and I LOVE the purple flower and brass even MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!🥰
Thank you 💜💜

I like the way you use a brush to add brass. Much more control than just putting it down with oak. Thank you for all your tutorials. 🙌🙌🙌
You’re welcome ☺️ I often add brass/ink with a brush, gives it something extra

Ink is addictive 😁 all you need is synthetic paper, ink and alcohol + hairdryer or bulb blower. For alcohol I use Navimer (grain alcohol)

Absolutely gorgeous - it turned out so amazing! Are you using an old Remington hair dryer??
Thank you 😊 bought the Remington 3-4 years ago
Beautiful! I’ve been watching videos but haven’t started experimenting with alcohol ink yet. I’ve gathered a few supplies to start. I see others also use brass, is that better than a gold metallic?
Thank you 😊 most metallics don’t work very well - the piñata brass from jacquard is absolutely the best
❤❤Beautiful
Thank you 😊
You were right my paper that was staining isn't NARA paper it is watercolor paper. Big difference. Now I have some NARA and it completely wipes clean. 🙌🙌
So happy to hear it 😃 Nara is the best for alcohol ink
What do you have the alcohol in? Where do they sell it? Beautiful work!
Thank you. It’s called a fine line applicator. You can get them on Amazon. Here’s a link amzn.to/3A2xeVJ
I got it right today for the first time but still have to practice a lot stil!! I still tend to use too many colours....
Wuhuuu 😃 just keep practicing and nothing wrong with lots of colors

Simply gorgeous! Did you use yupo paper? Where do you like to get your large sheets?
Thank you 😊 I use Nara paper and I buy it in Denmark
@@randihart5731 thank you. I wonder what the difference is between nara and yupo. Off to Google to research! 😆
It looks like there’s a UA-cam video by Askari Art that compares the two papers and how they work with alcohol ink.
Big difference- you can find a tutorial on my channel comparing Yupo and Nara 👍 video no 20
@@randihart5731 oh! Thank you so much!
Is the brass an alcohol ink color? Can u ass brass color with acrylic paint after its dry? Just alittle lines. Ik there different.
Yes brass is alcohol ink. Probably won’t work with acrylic, you need alcohol to move the brass

Piñata brass is a metallic alcohol ink from jacquard
Why do you need to add alcohol to do this? Why does it work?
You need the alcohol to make the ink move 😊

It’s metallic ink
