I have an Old DX Wraith I found at a pawn shop in the same weight and it’s Beefy as heck. It’s kinda crazy to see yours turn so much.
Had the same thought then remembered the headwind. Curious how fast the wind was blowin
Great video. I wish all disc review videos were like this. Not just review a mold but review the mold in the multiple plastic types. Also liked the distance readouts. (let me know how i compare to you and what then i should expect out of the discs )The next level for me would to also show throwers shorter/longer than yourself and to see how the discs react to that. Thanks.
also think they should make sure all discs are about the same weight since weight also affects stability and glide...
I have a g star and champion, I prefer the champion wraith but they both fly true to the numbers
Solid review. But imo the video would have been better if you showed the flight from behind the disc longer (or for the whole flight) your camera seemed to be picking it up quite nicely. Whereas the other camera angle wasn't really helpful. Either way I appreciate you taking the time to put this video together and some of those tosses were bombs!!
Is it because it it yellow or is it the name of the plastic
I throw a flat forehand with the Wraith and it holds a line forever ,cuts right. I can park it on 99% of those shots.
It's "Fore"
Ah yes you got all the 4 elements colors, perfect
I am new to disc golf can someone explain how these discs can have the same flight numbers but behave so differently? I am sure that there is a difference in the actual throws by the reviewer, but given that the discs behave relatively consistently for this reviewer between throws it does seem like there is a significant flight difference between the plastics. Are flight numbers supposed to be compared between molds using the same plastic and not between molds using any plastic for a given manufacturer?
Welcome to disc golf. Flight numbers are a guide and not an exact science. These are all the same discs, but different plastics, they should fly the same on paper, but they have different weights to them and the plastics does make a difference to the flight of the disc yes.
Thank you for this video! I feel like you're releasing with a lot of off-axis torque that is really resulting in tons of turn, but this video was still very informative. especially in seeing how torque resistant the star and champion plastics were! thanks again and cheers
I'm glad you like it 🙂 what would you recommend to fix the off-axis torque? Is it good or bad?
in general off-axis torque is not great. It's a result of your axis of rotation being off from the plane of travel (those are just made up terms, idk what its actually called). It adds a lot of inconsistency to the throw and reduces accuracy substantially. basically, you want your follow-through to match your angle of release and not roll your wrist.
just to be clear, i still loved the video! and we can all benefit from better form. Danny Lindahl has a great video on off axis torque also
@@frisbeefrolf thank you appreciate your comment and glad you liked the video. I actually made a continuous decision not to create form and technique videos as I'm not a 1000 rated player and don't have the best form, but subsequent I've not spent any time looking and analysing my own form. Bring on 2021 the year of improving and getting better 👊
Great video! Cheers from USA.
I do have a BLIZZARD champion wraith. Have you guys ever thrown one of those blizzards?
I have not tried one fo those. Olli.
Nice review! That forehand form could use some work though 😜
Thank you appreciate that 👊
Too many variables ie weights plus stickers on bottom sides can effect flight😁
For me, it would be interesting to see throwing each plastic, but also different weights in each plastic on these and more discs.
Love Catch the Spirit
No halo wraith 😢
I believe they came out after this video was produced
Same mold, different plastic.
*Fore
