Right there with you my friend. I saw so many top class bands at my local pub in Melbourne. Could you imagine if Pegasus saw Chisel doing Bow River live? With Jimmy screaming and Ian shredding and the harmonica weaving all through it? Damn I miss those days.....

Personally, I love the fact that you go into songs like this completely blind. That way you're not tainted by any expectations or misconceptions because of something you might have read. Plus the fact that you then go back and look up details about the song/group when you like what you hear. That's what I want from a reaction, for what it's worth. Great job! Definitely more INXS ... "New Sensation" would be great, but there are plenty of good choices.

INXS was one of the Biggest Australian rock bands ever. Check out their live in Wembley show its on youtube start to finish. Not just one of their best shows, One of the best Live rock performances ever recorded.
My old man tells a story about being at the Star Hotel in Newcastle in the late 70s seeing Midnight Oil - another Aussie rock band worth checking out, and their lead singer comes out on stage early in the night by himself. The crowd blow up thinking they are cancelling their show but he says Sorry i know we usually have a local band support us but we found these guys down in sydney and thought you would like them. Out comes a 17YO Michael Hutchence and procedes to blow everyone away

    I LOVED INXS
( In Excess ) in my teens! My boyfriend went to Australia for a holiday and came back with the 'Kicks' album by them. He and i were both OBSESSED with them. Played that tape (yes, im old😂) til it practically wore out.
Wow, brought back great memories. I always felt apart from other girls in my school. They were all into Wham, Durran Durran, or Spandau Ballet. Nothing against those bands, some great tunes. But INXS just hit differently.
It was only years later when they released ' Need you tonight' that everyone here in the UK seemed to wake up and notice them.
    I felt so smug 🙊😂
What a truly charasmatic man Michael Hutchence was. Sadly missed 😢

🙋🏼‍♂️ 🇬🇧 saw them at Wembley Stadium , July 13 , 1991 .. my first ever concert ( Live Baby Live is a recording of that show & is a great watch ) .. a rock star on stage but super shy & quiet off stage . He had some very very famous lady friends during his short time here . Another sadly missed , RIP Mr Hutchence 🙏🏻

One of my favs. My claim to fame is that Michael Hutchence fell off the stage ( on purpose) at the Overflow pub in Perth in 1984, (I was 19 at the time) on top of me, I wrapped my arms around him and didn't want to let go, then I saw the panic in his eyes so I helped him back up 😅

Michael had an amazing voice. I used to play this on repeat as a teenager. They have lots of variety, you might like to go down the rabbit hole. INXS (in excess) an Aussie rock band who 'made it' globally. Great 80's band. Played Wembley stadium. To break into America they played in US colleges as unknowns. Their song Original Sin was apparently banned from being played on certain radio stations in certain areas of the US.

INXS crossed through several genres of rock..... POP, New Wave/Post-Punk, Dance, Alternative.... My opinion they were way ahead of their time. Often lumped in with the A-ha era synth-rock bands of the 80s and 90s but not really synth-rock.....
As comments pointed out below Australian rock band making it big in the 80s... Their music videos where top notch along with their music.... Great Band.

In - X - ess is how it is pronounced.
They were basically a rock band of the mid 80s to the mid 90s and were from Australia.
The old man in the black hat in this video is the great actor Lawrence Olivier. He obviously was an old man then but, it was cool they had him in it. Olivier was the premiere actor of the stage (with some movies). A true giant.
The band was huge during its time and they did a lot of diverse music. It was not the same over and over. They were very interesting musically.
The singer was Michael Hutchins and he was a fantastic singer and frontman. Sad;y he battled with depression and ended up committing suicide in the mid 90s at the age of 36 ending the band. It was extremely tragic. Especially because by the 90s they had the SSRI drugs for depression and with therapy could have learned to live with it and overcome the grip of deep depression.

I just now watched the film INXS: Never Tear Us Apart. Not the doc,but the movie staring Luke Arnold from Black Sails as Micheal. Made me cry. It shows why his personality changed so badly,as well as everything else. Laid it all out there. So well done.
    The ending is so beautiful.
They clear up the horrible rumors about his death in 1997.

I first saw INXS a band from Sydney, Australia in 1983 or 1984 at a small, dive club in West L.A. I knew immediately they would be huge and considered myself fortunate to see them up close and personal. I had been familiar with their music, and I believe they created their own genre of "dance rock".
Kirk Pengilly is the their saxophone player. Michael Hutchence was lead singer and lyricist. The other main lyricist is Andrew Fariss one of 3 brothers, Tim and Jon who were part of the band. Gary Gary Beers played drums. I have all their recordings, and there was not one bad song. Sadly, Michael Hutchence passed away.

Probably a type, but Gary played bass.. Jon the youngest brother played drums. But yeah love them, still my fav band. I wasn't old enough to see them in 83, that must have been cool.. But went to the kick concert in 87. then again more recently at one of those winery concerts in Australia, when JD Fortune was singing for them.

I remember the breaking News, informing all of Australia what had happened. It was so heartbreaking! I was one of many, many fans that watched the funeral when it was shown live on tv.

INXS was an Australian band 1977, that was at the forefront of the New Wave (Neuro) Rock movement that included such bands as Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, Adam Ant, The Specials, Ah-Ha, The English Beat, ABC, Bananarama, The Cure, Culture Club, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Thompson Twins, Eurythmics, The Go Go's, Flock Of Seagulls, The Human League, UB40, The Pretenders.... Man I could be here for days adding names. What an amazing time for music. But anyways..... INXS formed in 77 started off with a song called Don't Change I think in 82. Then albums The Swing then Listen Like Thieves, but it was Kick in 87 that brought us amazing songs like Need You Tonight, Mystify and Devil Inside. Then New Sensations and Never Tear Us Apart the following year I think. And we lost Hutchence in 97, another greatly missed. Voice of an angel.

I can never watch a reaction to Michael and not get emotional.
We became friends in the 70's,having met in the pub at Crowie through our mutual friend who did lighting.
Michael was sweet, shy and the biggest dork you could ever hope to meet, but he knew he had talent and dreamed big.
When he,Tim, Andrew, Kirk and the guys went to West Oz we slowly lost touch with each other and with his rising fame and all the glitz that went with it he changed, I have my opinions (which I'll keep to myself) but I say,to this day, getting involved with a certain woman was his ultimate downfall and the situation with her ex husband was Michaels undoing.
I'll always love you mate, you were a wonderful friend - if I could turn back time I wouldn't encourage you to go for fame,I'd encourage you to look at WHO you had not what you WISHED you had.
Love and respect always ol' mate. ❤️

Just say Inexcess INXS! Fantastic band from Australia 🇦🇺 you have to watch footage from there London Wembley performance, it was professional recorded at the height of there popularity! There a incredible live band and I do mean incredible and lead singer Micheal Hutchinson RIP (died of a suicide) was the most charismatic frontman of his time, he was a incredible vocalist and had a audience eating out of the palm of his hand, he had that IT factor in spades ♠️ They have so many incredible songs! Please, please do Need You Tonight from Wembley performance or New Sensation or Bitter Tears or Suicide Blonde or What You Need or Mystified or this song from that show, they’re all stellar! I’m sure there will be so many others in the comments that can name more or Devil Inside! There is a great song with Micheal Hutchinson and Jimmy Barnes both from Australia 🇦🇺 who did a song called Good Times from the vampire move The Lost Boys classic horror movie that official video is a BANGER, it in itself deserves a reaction! I love, love ❤️ INXS, miss them miss Micheal Hutchinson they’ll never be another like him😢Thank you for checking out this beautiful song 🎶 check out those Wembley performances🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️🥰By the way that Wembley show was completely sold out with 73,000 fan’s!!! You get the feel of how it was with the crowd jumping, singing you can see how amazing they’re were and see how much the fans loved them! Start with What You Need, Suicide Blonde, Need You Tonight and New Sensation from Wembley performance! Gotta see your face to that👍
