(Quentin Tarantino says that some of the best moments in cinema happen when a song and a scene have a special chemistry. This is pure proof of that.)
Just check them Live. Any pick from their "Live Baby Live" At Wembley there will something that's gonna blow your mind. Their studio album where any pick is also great is "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts", featuring Ray Charles in one of those masterpieces, which is probably their most underrated as much as most mature albums, the very absolute best.
Gotta say... if this is your first listen to INXS, Polo... you'd be in for a treat by listening to their live performance of "New Sensation" from Wembley Stadium, 1991. Before cell phones. The power and the crowd are over the top. About as polar opposite from Never Tear Us Apart as there is.
I also came to say, amazing band but that Tear us apart would not have been my go to suggestion for his first INXS experience. Your suggestion and What you need are both much more impressive work. I am so grateful I was able to see INXS before we lost Michael. Such a tragic end for this amazing band.
Congratulations to your sub on her victory over cancer, and prayers for her continued good health. INXS was amazing, and holds a solid spot in my all-time favorite bands. This was their slow one that had a lot of popularity. Most of their songs are a bit peppier, though. Check out "NEW SENSATION" or "SUICIDE BLONDE" to hear another side of the band.
8:00 : Definitely more from INXS! The depths of the rabbit hole are far from being reached. Some songs to explore: - Need You Tonight - Mystify - New Sensation - Devil Inside - What You Need - Suicide Blonde - Beautifull Girl - By My Side - Bitter Tears - Heaven Sent - Listen Like Thieves - Original Sin INXS was one of the greatest bands in the 80s. You just couldn't get past this band. So sad that the end was coming so early... Still love and hear their music. Greetings from northern Germany ♥️ 🇩🇪
INXS is definitely a rabbit hole to wander down. There are plenty of spectacular hits to explore, but I like to go off script, and you will discover the depth and beauty of the band in tracks like: Here Comes, Red Red Sun, Taste It, Building Bridges, or Burn for You.
INXS pronounced as In Excess were known in the late 1980s as the best live rock band in the world. They performed on MTV in Hollywood as well with one of their hits called Suicide Blonde. It's on youtube. You will also find their whole Kick concert in front a massive crowd in London's Wembley Stadium in 1991 on youtube. Even this song alone will be found as a single video on youtube from that concert. They are a Sydney band. Michael died under suspicious circumstances in Nov 1997 at the Ritz Carlton, Sydney. I believe that hotel doesn't exist there now. He was found by a maid having hung himself on the inside door handle of the main door. The whole funeral is on youtube at the Sydney Cathedral. He was just 37 at the time. The band continued with a few other singers replacing Michael but the fans didn't want anyone else and eventually they disbanded.
Watched a show recently that said how Michaels daughter received almost nothing from his estate after his death even though he was worth almost 20 million pounds. His business partner / lawyer swindled and exploited his estate and musical rights. Truly heart breaking and diabolical
This is my favorite song by them. His voice, talent, and presence will never be forgotten. Gone too soon! The emotion and message of the song will transcend over time.
Fantastic song and iconic band, always even better live! Anything from their Wembley stadium performance from 1991 is just brilliant. 73k fans going off! What You Need or New Sensation are favs, but anything from that show is amazing. This song was huge and yes been used in many movies! Filmed in beautiful Prague before the curtain came down!
Michael Hutchence suffered a TBI in Amsterdam and was never the same since! He fell into endless deep depression until he finally took his own life some years back. RIP Michael!
Hutchence starred in a movie called Dogs In Space that is a bit of a cult film but everybody should see it once. With tissues at the end. It had an AWESOME soundtrack though.
This is the softer side of the group. Pretty iconic for the age. New Sensation and Suicide Blonde are the ones that come to mind...oh, and Need You Tonight.
My prayers go out to the one that had cancer. Maybe you could be cancer free forever. I like it when you pause a video. You tell us your true feelings. A lot of the others pause to bull shit.
The band name, INXS, is a play on words. It's pronounced "in excess".😉 Great reaction as always, oh and... I LOVE your pauses and commentary!! Keep doing you!!!😊✌❤
I was lucky enough to see INXS live a handful of times growing up in Melbourne, Aus. Michael was so full of talent and charisma. You really need to watch their live performances to ‘get’ INXS - Wembley Stadium is the gig, What You Need is a great start.
INXS is another great band. Other tracks to check out are "Need you Tonight," "New Sensation," 'Devil Inside" and "Suicide Blond" among others 😉. They definitely take me down a particular and enjoyable portion of memory lane.
Polo right on the nose, very 80s. I was glad to hear your viewer had recovered. There is something so therapeutic about watching these reaction videos. So keep up the good work 💜
Yeah, you have to do “Need you tonight” now. They were one of the quintessential 80’s rock/pop bands. “Need you tonight” might be their most popular hits, but they’ve had so many.
I agree with your requester. It took me a hot minute to understand your frequent pausing pattern of reactions but now I love it. It is like listening to a song with a friend, pointing out parts you love or hate.
The name of the band was (or is) "In Excess" spelled as INXS. Hutchence was a musical genius who, like countless other musical geniuses, couldn't fully channel his talents. When he died, the media shredded his reputation, which could not be more unfair. They hit MTV like a nuclear bomb with What You Need.
I bought that album when I saw it had Beautiful Girl and Not Enough Time on it. Not Enough Time got a lot of radio play where I grew up, but it's a forgotten track here in the comments.
They are from where I grew up. Played regularly in pubs up and down the Sydney's northern beaches..Great live..whether in a pub or in a large crowd.Nice guys
Love everything about this video, the location. . . the instrumentation . . . the SONG and most of all Michael Hutchinson. That man was the BOMB. RIP Michael.
I love this band. I remember when he died. It was crushing. He is so talented. You have to check out more of their music. Need you tonight you will probably like and the devil inside.
Those violins get me every time. This song is so beautiful. Violins, percussion and Michael's voice, than it just builds and builds. if that sax solo doesn't move you, you don't have a soul.
Hell yes to all of the above. Michael's voice was like melted dark chocolate, yet still had full vocal strength with the heavier rock songs. There will never be another Michael Hutchence💞
INXS was part of the soundtrack of my high school years in the 80s. They were just part of the background drone of FM radio at the time, heard them alot, but never "listened". I never really appreciated them until much later. I recall a TV series (early 2000's maybe) featuring INXS. It was a contestant talent show format revolving around their music, and was also an audition to find a new member for the band. This is where I really began to appreciate the talent of INXS. Gotta listen to their biggest hit New Sensation to get the correct INXS vibe.
For me, I understand that ALL reaction videos need to be paused for copyright purposes. You along with select others actually give solid commentary during these times. Also, having some musical understanding of when there is a break between a verse, chorus, or bridge helps out a lot as well. You do a great job with all of these things, I think that why some enjoy what and how you contribute to these reactions.
Original Sin, To Look At You, The One Thing, Stay Young, Just Keep Walking, and Burn For You are my favourite INXS songs. I grew up on the Northern Beaches near where the band lived.
Polo - these guys were one of the biggest and best rock bands of the 80s. Aussies. Wrote excellent songs right out of the gate. Polo, it’s gotta be their slowest track. Usually, they are holding up their groups name with rock to the excess. Always strange seeing an entrée to a group that is not the way they normally sound. This band in general rocks.🖖🏼
Saw them in Honolulu in maybe 1988. GREAT concert. I love this group so much. Kick was one of my favorite albums in high school. Totally rec more from the. Don’t Change is a great next track.
Polo, I must agree with the lady whom you quoted at the beginning. As someone with progressive MS, my days abed can appear endless at times. Michael Hutchence had one of the sexiest come-hither voices ever recorded. Yet he was so self-destructive.
INXS was HUGE in the 80s. There is a reason for that.
Man, it hurt when he died. We all knew they were done because there was no ‘replacing’ him. Damn. ❤
This song was apparently played at his funeral. Heartbreaking loss 😢
@@Grungycat67 Oh damn ☹️
Nick Cave sang " into my arms " at the service.. a truly beautiful song
"We all have wings, but some of us don't know why" ... an all-time favourite lyric.
It's my favorite too ❤
"I'd make wine from your tears" is my favourite lyric in this song.
"Mystify" is awesome!! Also, "Don't Change", "Need You Tonight". Heck, they're all good!! Keep listening to INXS because they're not one trick ponies.
Too look at you is one of my favorites.
Mystify IS awesome and doesn't get enough love

Yes!! He sounds just as good live as he does in studio.
@@jillykzagree..also Suicide Blonde for me at Wembley…..this was poor choice as introduction to the band, IMO.
INXS was the complete package. A perfect rock band.
One of the greatest 80s bands. INXS ROCKS! ✌️
YES I want them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so bad!!! I love them!
INXS “Devil Inside” is a good track
Congratulations to your sub on her victory over cancer, and prayers for her continued good health. INXS was amazing, and holds a solid spot in my all-time favorite bands. ALL Aussies are fans of this band.
Not just Aussies.
This much more than a 80's romantic song. It's a timeless one.
Much love to this cancer survivor!!!!!
Michael Hutchence had such a great voice. Awesome band from my younger days and most of it still holds up.

Too bad Michael Hutchence died so young as a troubled man. So much potential.
murdered imo
Yep, murdered for sure. Never ever believed the official version.
@@ronnie7075 how do you think that? He was unfortunately a very troubled man, also with a brain injury that made his life a misery.
Who says???@@stanreaper3080
no he was not. He had a brain injury & he was affected by that & the depression that was caused from the injury.
I would like to just take a moment to say that I am greatful to be able to share my love for music with everyone that's reading this comment.
I loved INXS! Rest in Peace Michael! ❤
