Mobile gaming is evolving rapidly, and it's great to see the accessory industry keeping up. I can't wait to see what comes next as mobile phones continue to surprise me every day!
PRO CONTROLLER - been using backbone since released and loved it. Since upgrading to iPhone 15 been looking for something to replace but nothing ticked the box until I spotted this and your review made up my mind after a few minutes. So ordered straight after 👍
@@adeyinkasokunbi8132depends on what mobile game you’re playing. If it’s an fps the paddles on the scuf are nice for jump and drop shotting. It’s all preference in the end though
Perfect!! Exactly what I was looking for. I always get pain in my right wrist while playing with the Backbone controller. Much prefer the symmetric layout of the sticks instead of the Switch-like design. Immediately preordered over your link & thanks for the discount ❤
closest controller I've seen that has everything I want. wish there was a port in addition to the bluetooth and allowed pass-through charging. otherwise close to perfect for me!
Great video Russ, coming from a Razer Kishi V2 I’m loving mobile gaming. Scuff not needing to remove phone case is good but would recommend people do, as a lot of games make your phone quite hot and without the case keeps it cooler.
tried the scuff and it works great but I can't take phone gaming serious and doesn't give me the best gaming experience. Returned it and looking into something better. appreciate the review.
It really works well? Doesn’t have any input lag… because of type connection, I’m thinking on buying bakcbone but I like these one too so what would you recommend me? Wich is better option
The SCUF Nomad was almost the perfect mobile controller. I question the decision to put the right thumbstick above the ABXY buttons. Other than that, it looks great.
Just got this today and I once again have the joy of mobile gaming. And why is your box huge!!! Still getting used to the thumb sticks but it’s still very responsive and love the customization .
I think this is better than having a portal. I almost planned to buy a portal but have now changed my mind to buy the Nomad controller. This controller can support any iPhone model, including my 14 Pro Max, since it connects via Bluetooth.
I’m a mobile streamer and I use the razer kishi v2 and it’s an amazing controller, all mouse click buttons and it runs off your phones battery, it works for iPhone and android and over all is a great mobile controller by renown company Razer. But why I’m watching this video is because I want professional quality thumb sticks on a gaming controller. The Razer controller is much like a switch joycon which is fine. But but to play heavier games like apex I just need something more. So I’m gonna give this one a try because scuff is the controller king
great high quality video as always man! I think having to connect it to bluetooth and needing to charge it is a dealbreaker for me I just want a plug and play solution like the backbone. I prefer the scufs ergonomics though!
Pro controller. I wonder if we could use it as just a Bluetooth controller for now and they can push an update for full Android compatibility...eh just a thought. Great video!🤝
My only complaint is that it's bluetooth and not directly connected to the phone. Other than that it looks like a pretty solid controller for mobile gaming.
Hmmmm I was liking everything about it until the buttons are placed below the right joy stick. Don’t know if I could get used to that. Pro controller 🎮
Does this connect to iPad Mini 6th like the GameSir G8+? - I had to return my G8+ due to a fault with left trigger and vibration not functioning correctly but loved that I could connect to multiple devices.
So this thing works perfectly fine. Functions is not gonna turn off. It’s not gonna have any glitches no problems with it. It’s just me perfectly fine. You’re saying right
I may be switching my Backbone controller recently broke. I opened it up and how it looks inside doesn’t work good enough to keep. I want to see if shoulders can support Xbox Antonia also Apple Store games.
Honest question man I just bought a ps portal and happy with it but would you say this is better for gaming through ps remote or ps portal the better option? 👀
For the PS5 the Portal is better for the dualsense controls and the larger screen (plus it uses the full screen, whereas the PS App on iPhone has those black borders). But for mixed gaming (Xbox, mobile, Apple Arcade, GeForce Now) this is a great buy.
The only thing I’m concerned about is the fact you can’t charge your phone while playing. Also I like that the backbone app integrates cloud gaming. So close to being perfect for me. Think I’ll stick with my backbone
Just watched it and before the end of the video I’ve ordered one 😂 been looking at the backbone for a couple of months but the case in the phone put me off, but this looks mint
Hi i have a question, if i used a mobile controller like scuf nomad for example in cod mobile , dost it shows that im using emulator or that im not a mobile player and doesn’t match me against mobile player ? Cuz in ranked no emulator
Pro Controller - Amazing video :) Now I am thinking about buying one for my own. I tested the Backbone already but was very unhappy with it… The thumbsticks felt very inaccurate especially when playing FPS. What is your opinion on aiming with the Nomad? And as I am also more a PS Remote guy, would you advice be to buy the nomad or go for the Portal? Thank you :)
Decent enough product, but with the mobile video games market. Still growing mainly through smartphones. The lack of Android support is definitely a missed opportunity. The mobile video games market is massive, so not having Android support was certainly a bad decision. It is a larger video games market than Windows PC or consoles. So I don't know what the people behind this controller were thinking.
Hey pls reply, I checked the discount code and it doesn’t work what percentage is it supposed to give because nothing happened for me when I clicked submit.
Reviews say that the PSConnect app on iOS runs better than the PSPortal. I hate that that’s the current state of things - but since I have a 15ProMax… I guess I can’t complain.
I’ve been playing around with mine for the last day on COD mobile. But I’ve been running into a couple of issues. First, the controller will randomly get super laggy after using it for a little bit. It’ll sometimes fix itself within a minute or so, but other times I need to turn it off and back on. Second, the sticks don’t feel very accurate. I’m not sure if it’s because there’s a slight delay, if it’s because the sticks are so loose, or if it has something to do with the Hall effect sensors. But the sticks on this controller just don’t feel nearly as precise as when I hook up my Xbox controller over the same Bluetooth connection
Great video! Immediate thought from the thumbnail was whether it uses lightning or USB-C. Likely upgrading my iPhone when the new ones come out in a few months which would mean a port change so happy to see this one uses bluetooth with no lag. This one's perfect as I can pull the trigger now and get a controller now rather than wait until the phone upgrade. Another surprise was the price considering it's from Scuf with some pro controller features plus the app integration.
This seems like one of the best ergonomic mobile gaming controllers on the market. BUT the lack of a wired connection between the controller and the phone means no way to charge the phone with the controller attached:/ Huge miss on Scuf's part
Atlast a mobile controller that DOESNT have offset analogs! Yessir! It looks cool af too though personally I'd opt for the white version. The only downside is no android app but ah well.
Hope you're having a good day, what are you playing?
Spider-Man 2 just got it 2 days ago
Believe or not but I am playing watch dogs for the first time
Just started playing CS go. Personally not a big fan. Same with Destiny 2. I think I should stick to minecraft or fortnite.
I'm playing Lego Harry Potter 1-4...
Horizon Zero Dawn
i know its a wrong video but your setup looks very well maintained man
Thank you man, I appreciate that.
Looks really nice, iPhone camera bump and case removal were what made me return my Backbone, so this is looking like a pro controller option 🤙
Yeh, removing my case every time on the Backbone is a real pain. This has already made be swap.
@@SpawnPoiint Backbone Gen 2 doesn't have this problem and it's way better with input lag (on BB doesn't exist).

What makes the G8 controller better is that it is direct connect instead of Bluetooth. Direct connection eliminates latency.
