    The Whoop Band being a subscription and not a one time buy is a disappointment. You never own the product and if the company changes its mind or goes bankrupt, "your" band becomes useless.

    • @dexterie
      @dexterie 3 місяці тому +11

      I that case, you stop paying and stop using it. Better scenario than buying it and then the company going bust and you end up with a toy that can’t be used.

    • @dexterie
      @dexterie 3 місяці тому

      @@harvivekdhindsa6809 I see it the same way as leasing a car. Or renting something. With the Whoop I feel I’m paying for the service, not the band. Once they have a new model, I get it without having to “buy” another one. I don’t need to own it… I just want to have the service it provides.

    • @dexterie
      @dexterie 3 місяці тому

      @@harvivekdhindsa6809 just as a real life example (it’s happening to me right now): Sonos ruined the experience with their new app. My whole system is unusable. Had it been subscription based, I would have stopped the subscription, send the speakers back and get something else from a company that respects their customers. I wouldn’t even think twice. But because I bought the speakers, I’m now either stuck with paperweights or I have to spend a lot for new speakers from another brand.

    • @Tovkal
      @Tovkal 3 місяці тому +15

      While that is true, the subscription also helps the company cover ongoing expenses needed to keep sold products working. If 100 people buy the band and then nobody else does, the subscription increases the likelihood (though it does not guarantee) that the company can continue running the servers the band requires. The alternative is to skip the subscription but raise the product's price, considering the expected longevity of each band, to cover server costs. Cheaper product with a subscription or no subscription with an expensive product-each has its pros and cons, and neither is ideal.

    It may seem simple...but a bicycle. Especially around town a bicycle forces you to get outside and turns something as simple as a commute to school and back into a physical activity. It is especially good on busy days before exams where I may not really have the time to play tennis or go to the gym.

    • @Hmy8799
      @Hmy8799 2 місяці тому +1

      I’m jealous you live in a bike friendly city/town! So true about it forcing you to get a dose of nature and activity regularly-both of which are INCREDIBLY important for overall health!
      Most U.S. cities are so behind/not bicycle friendly at all….which makes no sense to me🤦🏻‍♀️.
      I live in the 4th biggest city in the country, and there are only a few places where there is a TEEEENY TINY sliver of street dedicated for bikes-but they may as well not exist, as they may be a mile long max…
      Plus, drivers have become absolutely nuts here in the past 10 years…there have been far too many incidences of hit and runs by a car that kills a bicyclist, or just car driver not being aware of their surroundings and hitting bikers😢

    Believe it or not my 13 mini has improved my quality of life. Along with uninstalling social media apps from my phone the mini has helped me use the smartphone more as a communicator. My screen time is less than an hour a day. I make calls, send some text, check emails, gps, take some pics, and listen to music on my phone. That’s it! So refreshing not be tied down to my phone. I don’t have to carry it with me everywhere around the house and if I miss a call or text well I’ll see when I see it! 😂

    Lumie Alarm Clock, perfectly mimics sunrise which is perfect for winter when you have to wake up before it's light. It's also a much more gentle way to wake up which makes all the difference on those early morning rises as opposed to the blaring alarm from my phone going off. The Lumie greadually gets brighter and then you sound goes off on the time set. Honestly a game changer.

      That's funny. I've purchased an Apple Watch to train for a marathon last year, and it's probably been the most useless and overpriced piece of tech I've ever purchased. It's ALWAYS- always always- running out of battery, often has issues syncing workouts, Spotify playlists, etc... And I simply can't really find a use case for it other than tracking a workout (and it's not even good at that).

    A simple and cheap one that i discovered from your videos but my Orbitkey key organiser. The ability to know exactly where each key is because they're in order, and also to be able to find any key with one hand fairly easily is amazing.
    And one more is my razer gaming laptop. Having one device that doesn't is slim and designed well enough to not scream "gaming laptop" but can still easily play AAA titles is such a good feeling I never get tired of!

    hello man, so tech that improve the quality of MY life :
    1. 14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro, very similar to yours. it just works SO well and its so enjoyable to use i feels everybody who is working from a laptop should get this one (if they're into Apple already because i'm sure other laptop are also nice to use etc.) because there nothing worse than working with tools you don't like.
    2. AirPods Pro 2nd gen : you put them in, connect immediatly, play a song, it sounds really nice. awesome noice reduction and lot of cool software feature. i feel like it's a really good investment for someone who listen to music a lot outside and is in the apple ecosystem already.
    these are just fantastic.
    nice video btw, i really like the visual quality, the different shots, really cool.

    For me, one of the products that improves my life quality the most is my motorcycle. Escaping the dreaded rush hour by lane filtering, parking anywhere without issues of paying expensive parking in the city centre, parking always close to my destination instead of walking 10 minutes, and also the economy of it: cheaper insurance, fuel, maintenance..
    also, robot vacuum, for sure.

  • @sarasoueidan
    @sarasoueidan 3 місяці тому +2

    The Dyson vacuum is honestly one of the best purchases I've ever made. I used to wake up every morning with a stuffy nose and scratchy throat. I had to take an anti-histamine pill every single day (not joking). But when I got the Dyson, I vacuumed my bedding and furniture with it and I swear I haven't taken an anti-histamine or woken up with a stuffy nose ever since I did. It's incredible. Worth every penny. I'd re-purchase in a heartbeat if I need to. It also makes vacuuming so much fun with the green laser light (if you get one of those). Highly recommend.

    Automation. Phillips Hue light bulbs especially. Having those lights on set routines to fad in when you want to wake up, and fade out when it’s time for bed. It does wonders for melatonin and your body clock naturally waking up and falling asleep. It can work well enough to not need any audible alarm clock (depending on what kind of sleeper you are).
    Also a robot vacuum cleaner ($$ brand like Samsung etc.) Just like you said about your vacuum, it can see overpriced and silly, but once you have it you will question why you didn’t get one sooner. A robot vacuum being set to go at a certain time every day means you never have to think about it, and you never have a dirty floor. It picks up all the tiny bits on the floor before you even get to the point of thinking “I should vacuum”. It’s such a pleasant feeling. Similar to that clean bedsheet feeling, but not quite as good 😂

    It's ridiculous but - I use the Airpods Pro as an Android user. Despite feeling like a second class user with all the features I don't have access to when I don't connect it to an iPhone, I am obsessed with how well they work. I just picked up the 2nd Gen after my 1st Gen packed it up after 2 years, and the Adaptive Noise Cancelling & improved noise cancelling make it genuinely one of my favourite ever products.

    1. Shifting to a business laptop. Currently using a Dell Latitude and everything just works like a well oiled machine. Unlike my previous laptop, which was the HP ENVY. The build quality, battery life, aesthetics are just so much better on a business laptop that I don't think I'l be going back to a regular model again.
    2. An 8-inch tablet. By far one of the most used gadgets I have. It is the Xiaomi MiPad 4 (old model, I know), and its helped me get back in to my reading habit again after being away for nearly a decade. I have academic books, comics, and tons of fiction/non-fiction books on it and the portability (and the Android ecosystem) make it very easy to simply dump as many books on to it and take them with you wherever you go.

    AirPods Pro, worth the $250. I use it everyday for music, video games, podcasts, watching UA-cam on my phone. I like the convenience of charging the pods for 10 minutes after using it for a while and it gives me extra hours of listening time. I use the noise cancelling when I mow my property or when I want a full immersive audio experience. I take it everywhere I go except going out with family or friends, honestly this has to be the best investment of all the products I own.

I used to have 2 24 inch monitors one in the middle the other tilted towards me on the right but for some reason my neck would hurt having to turn (I don’t like the bezel in the middle). I like that you mentioned getting the nice Dyson vacuum, as folks often write off cleaning products as not being “technology” in the strictest sense, but I’ll add an honorable mention for a robot vacuum as a device that has improved my life for well worth the price. The amount of dust and pet hair that it picks up from its automatic scheduled cleanings *even after* running the regular vacuum is astonishing. And same as you said for the Sonos setup, if a robot vacuum seems too expensive for you, check the used classifieds. People seem to often be selling last year’s flagship robot vacuums for half price or less. I think I bought my shark robot / wandvac combo vacuum set for $100 bucks on OfferUp and I’ve had it for years now. Great video as I think it gets to the core of why we like technology in the first place- because it makes our lives easier. Cheers!

    Word of caution on the Dyson Vac, our experience has been that the battery only lasts about 2 years before it starts to fail and a replacement is in the realm of 100 USD. Not a dealbreaker, but it doesn't hold up well over time without needing parts replaced fairly often.

    Narwal Freo. It's pricy but it SIGNIFICANTLY changed my life. It does a really good job at vacuuming and mopping the floors. There are various modes, and I your able to set a schedule for each day or how ever many days you what to run it. It washes and dries it's own mop, so there is no oder and when cleaning your floors it's washing with a clean mop. It also rinses the mop through out the cleaning session so it doesn't just spread the dirt around. All I have to do now is just empty the dirty water bin, refill the clean water bin, and empty the dust bin.

But now I can have my tea on a perfect temperature for the whole day or up to 2 hours when I use the battery. I would instantly buy it again and will when it dies. People that say it is too expensive (150$) don't calculate how much use it gets. Only the app was bad two years ago but you don't need to use it (I used it once). No online-forcing so it will work even if the company dies.

Definitely would add a vacuum robot for daily cleanup and an air fryer instead of the oven in my kitchen and a small rice cooker not to worry about rice sticking to my pots. My unusual pick would be a transportable external monitor. I initially got one for displaying things on certain events, but now I always have an additional 14-inch screen ready to plug in with my setup at home or with my laptop when I'm away. Using 27-inches felt excessive for me, but a single one was sometimes suboptimal for certain tasks. This is the perfect balance for the times when I want that little bit extra screen real estate.
    I also agree with some comments about a monitor light bar - I got a cheap model that simply does its job well - and a Kindle - you don't necessarily need one to read books from the Amazon Kindle Library, but it certainly improves "quality of life".

    For me that would be my Fully Jarvis standing desk, together with a larger monitor. Being able to switch between standing and sitting behind a desk for me is beneficial for my posture, and also focus.

    I have gone all in on Bellroy products. The best has been the phone pocket which holds a few cards, one or two keys and my phone. As I have a 1-year-old, I want to switch off from my phone and have it out of the way and this does it perfectly. I can then set my Apple watch to only show important notifications during "Family Time".

    Your Mode sonnet looks impeccable still. I still use mine daily and switch with the Mode Loop and having a bespoke keyboard when you're typing or interacting with your keyboard in the manners we've all become accustomed to is essential. Hope you're well!

    My ipad mini. Just love the convenience it's brought to my life. I watch a lot of sports and twitch streams. Regularly use it as a companion alongside my laptop whenever I want something in the background for for consuming media when I'm in bed. It's really just the perfect size and one of Apple's best products.

    11:30 for Remote workers out there, a Great pair of headphones, a camera and a well lit room makes all the difference when you’re on those important meetings (i really get a lot of comments/complements). Of course paired with a decent internet connection 😂.
    Sometimes when I am alone, I prefer using the speakers and the camera’s built in mics, keeps your ears free from having headphones all day.

    For me it was letting go of my Apple Watch for an automatic watch. The peace of mind that comes with not having to recharge your watch every night and having it always juiced up when you're still out and about at night and need to be out again in the mornings. I thought I loved being able to have instant notifications pop up on my watch but I found that distracting while I'm working (I work from home too). I love not having to lug around the watch charger too when I'm traveling; I've downsized to just a MacBook Air M2, iPad mini 6, and iPhone 15, AirPods Pro 2 and they all just charge with the same usb c charger!
    What helped me the most was actually upgrading to an iPhone 15 though; the Dynamic Island is such a niche but useful feature for me. I use it to keep track of timers while I'm cooking or doing laundry, it's there for me to see the music I'm listening too, etc. I guess the added feature of the new AirPods as well where it can adjust volume straight from the buds. All these just made my Apple Watch obsolete

    Garmin instinct 2. All the tracking features and notifications of other smartwatches without having to recharge it every night. 20 days battery life, light and not too big.
    Airpod pro. I switch often between android and ios. This pair of earbuds have been fantastic and I don’t think there’s any better sounding pair at this price range.
    Sony RX100VII. Super small but very capable camera. I just wish it was USB-C rechargeable

    Air Pods Pro 2. I always thought they were way too expensive, then I got a set and the sound quality blew me away. I lost a set and didn’t baulk at buying another set straight away - the cost was immaterial compared to the pleasure I get listening through these and how well they integrate with all my Apple devices.

    Tbh it’s my Omega x Swatch Moonswatch 'Mission to Mercury'. Though it’s just a analog watch, but it does bring me away from a screen and also as a watch enthusiast, I love the design of it and it being memorable to me as well because I queued up for it way back when during the original release but didn’t get it and in my recent trip to Sydney I managed to get it.
    So I would say that it is a memorable piece, a useful tool and beneficial to my life.
