Hey cuz,, if you want to hear the best ecoustic guitar playing ever,(debatable) check out and react to "Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live at radio city music hall, "Two Step." It very cool and I think you would appreciate it.. Great channel man, so glad your expanding into other genres of music..Very cool.
i had heard tool for years but the moment they really 'struck' me was in Aenima. I was stuck in traffic and in my own little world when they started talking about comets and the end of the world and all that and i was like.. Oh man hell yeah.. and the voice... my next stop was the music store (back when they existed still)
Been with Tool since Undertow. When I saw the video for Sober on MTV. I got my ass on my bike and rode many miles to buy the cassette tape. Been hooked ever since. My favorite band. See them live. Money well spent, no matter the price.
I found Aenima in my big bros collection when I was 9. Put it on and I was never the same person again. Dubbed it onto a cassette cuz I wasnt allowed in his room. Tool fucked me up in the best way possible. It made me feel like a worm. A clueless organism just having fun. Then I learned how to write and play guitar. Still clueless as ever but now I can always go back to my art to remind myself that I at least know how insignificant I am. Makes me feel safe cuz I stop taking myself so seriously in that temple I made for myself and everything seems way less scarier.
Michael J Fox? if so i got a question for you. Remember that note i sent you back when i was 14 and invited you to the Epstien Island Tour 1982? Yeah we got trolled...dont go. If you got this late and took a raincheck just remember ...dont drink the water ....something about it gives you the shakes....(as they say on the island)
I just searched to find this reaction after watching this particular reaction more than once years ago. Thanks for your beautiful reaction. Just saw Tool live on 2/17 and was blown away.
"Repugnant is the creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to Heaven conscious of our fleeting time here." GOD I LOVE TOOL. And thanks for the reaction to Jambi, benevolent sun healing is what we need. God bless.
It’s just too good. If this song doesn’t evoke some sort of emotions in you, whether it be anger or sadness or confusion, you aren’t listening hard enough. What a hauntingly beautiful song! Genius!
I love people who appreciate music but when you see these reactions to TOOL I almost instantly am impressed by how they are the only ones who truly make people feel different
311's first 5 albums are fuckin dope. Music, Grassroots, 311, Transistor, Soundsystem. They're not as technical as Tool but they're just simply bad ass. 311 is my favorite band, Tool second.
Dude! Do an album review! Tool Lateralus will Blow. Your. Mind. I'm a 55 year old Nana, and I freaking love Tool! No joke! Doooooo iiiiiit! Love your reviews!
I REALLY love watching someone discover Tool for the first time!!! It’s a journey! YES! I knew you’d love them...and then entrapped by the vocals and lyrics supported by that badassey guitar and bass guitar followed by those drums, ugh! YESSSSSSS!
Right? I would have loved Prestons channel anyway, but finding this to watch someone who "gets it" discover how beautiful and magical there music is.. really enjoying these, want him to do lateralus in the Holy gift rework xp, whole album, one video lol
this is a fraction of what this album has to offer. 10,000 days, both parts, are an ode to his mother, The Pot is intense, Jambi is a bassists wet dream, and Rosetta Stoned is a musical masterpiece. Good luck digesting this album, I find new meanings 12 years after it's release!
Their attention to detail is on a different planet. The drum breakdown in the middle is tabla drums that Danny Carey studied for years under an Indian master, but he didn't use them on the album or on tour, because he spent another year with an engineer developing a brand new drum pad that was good enough to replace them.
King KTF: "🎶 Right in two oOoOO! 🎶" Glad to see someone enjoying music as much as the rest of us. You also need some headphones for any reaction but specifically for Tool to pick up all the nuances. Then if you want the listener to hear what you're hearing, try and get your audio output through the recording device. Also, every new Tool song you hear is going to be your new favorite song.
You have to listen to the whole album dude!!!! 10,000 days all runs together to form one giant killer song. Such longing and introspective feelings come out of this music. MY FAVORITE TOOL ALBUM
Never gets old watching others fall in love with this band. I'll tell you right now, love just about every piece of music they've done *because* they all receive this amount of attention and soul. If you're up to it, I think we'd all enjoy you going through their album. BUT, if not, you gotta listen to *Lateralus* shit will take you on a journey, guaranteed. Love the vids tho.
@@Ian-oe9wp Well welcome aboard, the good news is: you've got a lot of content to go through, not only is there Tool but there's also Perfect Circle and Puscifer. All of which have the same lead singer; Maynard James Keenan. Each have their own style and are not created equal but still very worthwhile.
Something about watching people react to tool, i love it, more so when people havent heard "alot" of the band. Every single person had the same feelings you had when finding tool :D Its magical tbh. True experience
I find that I hold myself back from recommending Tool so I'm not labeled a fanatic. BUT, in the back of my mind I'm always thinking it. The best feedback I ever got was from a local rapper selling his CDs at a gas station. I bought a CD then asked if I could listen to one of my songs on his car's sound system. We listened to 'Ticks and Leeches'. It sounded beyond amazing! He lost his mind! I gave him the album. That's right, I gave away my Lateralus CD. I don't regret it a bit.
Michael Mickles I agree as far as every single song being great it doesn't get any better than Aenima I love every song on that album and in my opinion the best album ever written
Some of Tool’s best songs are on the 10,000 Days album including this song, but my favorite off this album is the pot. And yes you should listen to the whole album they won a Grammy for it.
for years i have thought the most powerful and meaningful lines i have ever heard in ANY song is from this song... “repugnant is a creature that would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here”... SO POWERFUL with SO MUCH MEANING... it is so REAL about the human race
Lol when you said “it’s like every detail is on point” Yep, that’s pretty much the Tool experience summed up in 7 words :) Welcome to the Tool army, I can’t wait for more reactions! It’s so cool to watch you fall in love with them! Edit: okay I also have to add that yes! ANY Tool album is so worth reviewing!!
I've said him a few times I know,😶🙄 but just incase you didn't see I'm gonna throw this out there again.lol.. I swear this cover song of Alice and Chain's, Nutshell done by Ryan Upchurch is gonna make you feel him😉 even if you don't react to it, just give it a whirl.❤ lol if you like it maybe you like his rap too, I can tell you like Unique♡♡♡
This song gives you two priceless experiences, you discover it for the first time, and you watch people discovering it for the first time .. Tool is magnificent.
I saw an interview with Maynerd where he said FI was ready, done and packaged up, ready to go in 2009. He said his self doubt got the best of him. He wasn't sure it was the best it could be. He kept us waiting for 10 extra years. They spent all that time cursing and hexing the album. That's how they got all 10 spots on Billboard's Top 10 in 1 day when FI dropped. No other band or artist has done that. Tool did what seemed impossible/unthinkable for sooooo long. Keep your Tool on top, so you won't lose it
I couldn’t agree more, and I’m almost jealous as a Tool fan from the beginning that someone is just experiencing the genius of this band... with so much to look forward to, and we suffer through years of anticipation for new music. It’s a hell of a ride that will change your entire view of music and how personal or relatable lyrical content is to another level, and I’m looking forward to going along with a new fan
Got yourself a subscriber, this was a great reaction to one of the greatest songs ever. I would love to witness an album review, but it HAS to be their Lateralus album. That album is a journey.
Yo this is the best music channel out period the diversity and the appreciation and passion you have for the music is unreal I just saw the trust company video one of my all time favorite bands that no one really knows about keep up the good work man much love and support
The fact that 4 such unique musicians coincidentally found each other, and (sometimes sooner than later) decided to create such pure art, never giving a single shit about what anyone would pay money to hear or have it played on the radio 10 times in a day, chopped into digestible 2-3 minute snacks, is indescribable to me. Each one of them so creative and unique at their craft, Danny Carey with those insane rythms and tribal sounds, Adam Jones with the crazy effects and different string-pulling techniques, as in the Jambi intro, Justin Chancellor also using some awesome effects and pedals, and just over all amazing basslines (Reflection, Schism, H., Jambi...), harmonizing so amazingly with the Guitar of Adam Jones, to the beats of the absolute Monster that Carey is, topped of with a voice that can sing you into a high with some ancient fckn singing, like in Parabol, and screams that wake you up from the Dead (The Grudge, H., Tick & Leeches, Third Eye.....). And then they converted all of that shit into Music, where basically every track is a trip, just taking you along for a ride, building and building until it explodes and jizzes into a musical climax thats just so one of a kind. Nothing comes even close, i'm gonna go pry open my third eye now.
This song is so good it starts out asking a very important question (having already had an idea before listening to tool) because an all powerful being could only be satisfied being genuinely surprised by our irrational actions no? Is he not living vicariously through us? ;)
Bro!! Absolutely loved this reaction. Have you read the lyrics to this song? It will make it that more meaningful bruh...love your reactions, keep it up!!!
Tool is one of few bands that really grab ahold of you and take you on a different kind of journey. Listen to the entire album with good headphones on to get the full effect. Mindblowing bro.
Dude i just found your channel yesterday. I love that you dig tool. They have a new album coming out soon. You should do the headphone thing cause you're cutting the experience right in two
Listen! if you wanna hear an amazing song? listen to Tools= Push it off the Salival Album which every song is live, I say Salival Album because the song Push it is kind of a remake but far better then the studio version, which is on their Aenema Album. It's one oi the greatest live performances EVER!!! it is a long song but every bit worth it, IMO its one of the greatest vocal performances ever..
Congratulations, my friend. You’re stumbling into the essence of Tool! I love your reactions! I feel like I’m viewing my own first listens again! I love the raw emotional reaction you have to their songs while still allowing your wheels to turn. Please keep it up!
Right on bro, glad to see people appreciating the quality of tool. Such a unique, talented band. See them live on day, then they will officially be your favorite rock band haha. They are one the best live performances between their sound, and backdrops,
Their album 10,000 Days has a lot of rough parts, in the sense that it can be very difficult to get into for untrained ears. I'd suggest their album 'Lateralus' for an album review first.
I disagree. Lateralus is considered to be the better album but 10,000 is just as good. I think people just prefer that Lateralus has a clear through line about consciousness and thought where 10,000 clearly has more parts. Just my opinion.
I wasn't making a statement on the quality of either album. My point was about what would be easier on the ears of someone who hasn't experienced a ton of progressive music. For example, it took me FOREVER to finally appreciate Rosetta Stoned. There isn't a track on Lateralus that took me as long to 'get'.
Stars Die Don’t worry, I know what you’re saying and you’re right, Lateralus does have more songs that are easier to consume and probably more songs that I’d recommend individually to anyone new to Tool. That said, I think 10000 Days I think is a more complete album rather then a collection of songs and look.....he really got into Right in Two so I think he’ll be alright.
What I love is that Tool is ever evolving, and by that I mean that as we grow as people and revisit not only this song, but any Tool song, we come to it from a new perspective. Each song provides the flexibility to contour to your life and vice versa. This is what true artistry is to me, that I can re-approach it numerous times and every time has the potential to be new, I know what beats and lyrics are coming next, yet I hear what I need to hear as it applies to that moment in time. Tool is simply perfect!!
TOOL. It has the power to transform just from sound alone. The beauty of it all draws you in and changes you right to the core. It enlightens you in ways you did not think possible. I love TOOL. I love TOOL. How many of you can agree with me.
"Like, I wanna restart this video. I'm not going to...but I want to." 😂😂😂😂 I know this is now a 7 or so month old video but...fuckin welcome to the family, bro. It's awesome watching someone fall in love with Tool.
Jambi is my favourite on that album mate. The ending is the best part so i have to listen to it all again just to get there lol. Shine on forever, shine on benevolent sun , shine upon the broken, shine until the 2 become 1
This is the 2nd vid i watched - I am about to watch all of his reactions - Watching somebody fall in love with my favorite band - waaaay awesome - priceless entertainment - Tool is my music bible as far as rhythm and song structure as a producer.
You need to react to all tool and use lyric videos. If not you're missing out as everyone else has pointed out. Watching you discover Tool has made me a subscriber!
Your so cool, love your pure reactions to badass songs and groups. Tool has always been one of my all time Favorite period!! Get best headphones and listen to all the nuances of the music and lyrics, it's just mind blowing!!!!
I know exactly what you were feeling. The song basically is telling how humanity has taken everything the Creator, God, Allah or suprem being of the universe has bestowed upon us. And used it in every way other then it was intented. It tell how angles are watching in disgust and disbelieve at the way we have taken these gifts and squandered it away. How we tend to take some thing good and manipulate it into something used for evil and ultimately to bring the end to mankind. The instrumental i believe is describing two sides at war. Battling to the last man. Just my thought. May not be the way Tool wanted it to be intended. But thats what i got from it. Either way its one of my all time favorites. More Tool Brotha. PS: love your takes. Keep em coming
Really, the whole album, from start to finish. Honestly that is the only way to listen to any good bands album. Pink Floyd The Wall, and Wish you were here are excellent examples. ua-cam.com/video/yCXrgASzf50/v-deo.html
Been a Tool fan for years and I have to say that watching your reactions is bringing me back to hearing it all for the first time again. Those goose-bumps aren't going away lol. 20 years later and hearing every song hundreds of times....I still have them.
This is my favorite of your Tool reviews. The fact that you go completely speechless is exactly the reaction to have on the first listen of almost all of their songs but this one is Tool taking a hard left from what they usually are lyrically.
1st?

Olly Hudson definitely gotta experience it kinda loud through some quality headphones. Follow those lyrics too!

My favorite verse
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here
It is possibly the greatest verse that has ever been in a song since the beginning of human beings making music.
I envy you

Dan Mann fuck yea
that entire album he needs to listen to if he thinks a song off 10,000 Days is that good he has no idea when he hears the whole album of Lateralus

I remember my first time also. I cam't remember how many times I played this record over and over.
Love your Tool reviews keep them coming bro!
I’m so hooked on this song right now. And have this whole album on almost constant repeat right now.
I literally forgot I was watching a reaction video until you paused it again that’s how mesmerizing tool is
Got yourself a subscriber, this was a great reaction to one of the greatest songs ever. I would love to witness an album review, but it HAS to be their Lateralus album. That album is a journey.
I second Lateralus
Yo this is the best music channel out period the diversity and the appreciation and passion you have for the music is unreal I just saw the trust company video one of my all time favorite bands that no one really knows about keep up the good work man much love and support
ide like to re up that. For real, keep up the journey man. Never stop spiraling
You should listen to their cover of Led Zeppelin's No Quarter! It is absolutely amazing!!!
😊Dam...thanks for the reminder😊
This is my favorite song by Tool. The combination of the lyrics and the instrumentals is on another level.
Nothing comes even close, i'm gonna go pry open my third eye now.
tool wings for marie part 1 and 10000 days part 2
david howard yes! But with focus on lyrics and a background on his mother.
You’ll definitely want the lyrics. Extremely powerful. Recommended to do nothing but lyric videos for Tool songs.
completely amazing album and that "song" is the crown jewel.
Tee the greatest love song ever written
This!!
Well, prepare to go down a rabbit hole. If you’re already digging Tool, the rest of their catalog will not disappoint you.
Try Wings for Marie, part 1 and then Part 2. Best of the best. Keep it up, love your videos
This song is so good it starts out asking a very important question (having already had an idea before listening to tool) because an all powerful being could only be satisfied being genuinely surprised by our irrational actions no? Is he not living vicariously through us? ;)
What happens when you cram too much talent in one place? It makes a Tool!!
And it only gets better bro! There is no bad tool song. Next you should do parabol/parabola next
Joe Loera the lyrics to that song are incredible
For sure, some of my favorite. We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion
You should do the headphone thing cause you're cutting the experience right in two
Ron Klue ‘soon’
@@johngilbanni6385 Hehehe
The more you listen you become theirs.. It's addicting..
You have great taste in music. I like how you listen to the whole song too and don't chop it up too much.
Listen! if you wanna hear an amazing song? listen to Tools= Push it off the Salival Album which every song is live, I say Salival Album because the song Push it is kind of a remake but far better then the studio version, which is on their Aenema Album. It's one oi the greatest live performances EVER!!! it is a long song but every bit worth it, IMO its one of the greatest vocal performances ever..
That track is amazing. I concur.
Robert Snell Yaaasssssssss!!!!!
Robert Snell yes dude. That song is best played while alone, laying flat on the ground, looking to the stars, and emptying your head.
I'm glad you're getting into some of the best progressive music right now.
There's real art in progression, and Tool highlights it best.
This band changed my soul seeing them live WOW
A beautiful song with such a perfect truth behind it.
Congratulations, my friend. You’re stumbling into the essence of Tool!
I love your reactions! I feel like I’m viewing my own first listens again! I love the raw emotional reaction you have to their songs while still allowing your wheels to turn. Please keep it up!
Liked & subscribed. Preston, I'm new both to your channel and to Tool. We are truly fortunate to be on this journey of discovering Tool. Cheers!
Right on bro, glad to see people appreciating the quality of tool. Such a unique, talented band. See them live on day, then they will officially be your favorite rock band haha. They are one the best live performances between their sound, and backdrops,
Any tool song will hit you deep. It shaped my life , tool
The great thing about Tool songs is that they take you on a journey, and even if they end like they started you find you're in a different place.
This is my favorite song, I salute and clap at the exact same time in the song when you do.Respect and thank you for sharing that moment.
“That was the best thing I’ve ever heard.”
Same. This song is a gd masterpiece, and an underrated one at that.
"PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE"
It's like a right of passage..
Tool knows the inside and outside of writing a song. Some of their songs are sooooooo deep.
"Its like every detail is on point".... that's what makes tool so special. Perfection is their game!
“That was the best thing I’ve ever heard”. Me too until Fear Inoculum
Their album 10,000 Days has a lot of rough parts, in the sense that it can be very difficult to get into for untrained ears. I'd suggest their album 'Lateralus' for an album review first.
Stars Die Sure but for me 10000 Days is the most complete album they have done. I frickin’ love it from top to bottom beginning to end.
Olly Hudson Rosetta Stoned might, maybe, be a little much but the rest of it is gonna blow his mind
So dope seeing you love the God given Tool, or Maynard...same difference, but you like it so much you forgot to HOLD ON BRUHHHHHH>>>>LOL
I'm not going to...but I want to."
😂😂😂😂
I know this is now a 7 or so month old video but...fuckin welcome to the family, bro.
I love watching people fall in love with TOOL. Best band of our generation.
Larry McCaslin seriously!
Your so cool, love your pure reactions to badass songs and groups. Tool has always been one of my all time Favorite period!! Get best headphones and listen to all the nuances of the music and lyrics, it's just mind blowing!!!!
You haven't touch tool yet. You have to listen to Parabol amd parabola. It will blow your mind. Then Anema!
You know a song looks good when you look sad when you realize it's about to end
10:50 that was the same exact expression I had on my face when I first heard this part. You just gotta lean back in astonishment bruh
You can see exact moment when his life changed :)

Stinkfist - Tool
Really, the whole album, from start to finish. Honestly that is the only way to listen to any good bands album. Pink Floyd The Wall, and Wish you were here are excellent examples. ua-cam.com/video/yCXrgASzf50/v-deo.html
Definitely!!!
STANKFIST!!!!
Yes! Anything from undertow or opiate!
