Been with Tool since Undertow. When I saw the video for Sober on MTV. I got my ass on my bike and rode many miles to buy the cassette tape. Been hooked ever since. My favorite band. See them live. Money well spent, no matter the price.
I found Aenima in my big bros collection when I was 9. Put it on and I was never the same person again. Dubbed it onto a cassette cuz I wasnt allowed in his room. Tool fucked me up in the best way possible. It made me feel like a worm. A clueless organism just having fun. Then I learned how to write and play guitar. Still clueless as ever but now I can always go back to my art to remind myself that I at least know how insignificant I am. Makes me feel safe cuz I stop taking myself so seriously in that temple I made for myself and everything seems way less scarier.

Something about watching people react to tool, i love it, more so when people havent heard "alot" of the band. Every single person had the same feelings you had when finding tool :D Its magical tbh. True experience
I find that I hold myself back from recommending Tool so I'm not labeled a fanatic. BUT, in the back of my mind I'm always thinking it. The best feedback I ever got was from a local rapper selling his CDs at a gas station. I bought a CD then asked if I could listen to one of my songs on his car's sound system. We listened to 'Ticks and Leeches'. It sounded beyond amazing! He lost his mind! I gave him the album. That's right, I gave away my Lateralus CD. I don't regret it a bit.

Got yourself a subscriber, this was a great reaction to one of the greatest songs ever. I would love to witness an album review, but it HAS to be their Lateralus album. That album is a journey.
Their attention to detail is on a different planet. The drum breakdown in the middle is tabla drums that Danny Carey studied for years under an Indian master, but he didn't use them on the album or on tour, because he spent another year with an engineer developing a brand new drum pad that was good enough to replace them.
Michael Mickles I agree as far as every single song being great it doesn't get any better than Aenima I love every song on that album and in my opinion the best album ever written
for years i have thought the most powerful and meaningful lines i have ever heard in ANY song is from this song... “repugnant is a creature that would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here”... SO POWERFUL with SO MUCH MEANING... it is so REAL about the human race
Right on bro, glad to see people appreciating the quality of tool. Such a unique, talented band. See them live on day, then they will officially be your favorite rock band haha. They are one the best live performances between their sound, and backdrops,
Some of Tool’s best songs are on the 10,000 Days album including this song, but my favorite off this album is the pot. And yes you should listen to the whole album they won a Grammy for it.
King KTF: "🎶 Right in two oOoOO! 🎶" Glad to see someone enjoying music as much as the rest of us. You also need some headphones for any reaction but specifically for Tool to pick up all the nuances. Then if you want the listener to hear what you're hearing, try and get your audio output through the recording device. Also, every new Tool song you hear is going to be your new favorite song.
I saw an interview with Maynerd where he said FI was ready, done and packaged up, ready to go in 2009. He said his self doubt got the best of him. He wasn't sure it was the best it could be. He kept us waiting for 10 extra years. They spent all that time cursing and hexing the album. That's how they got all 10 spots on Billboard's Top 10 in 1 day when FI dropped. No other band or artist has done that. Tool did what seemed impossible/unthinkable for sooooo long. Keep your Tool on top, so you won't lose it
Dude i just found your channel yesterday. I love that you dig tool. They have a new album coming out soon. You should do the headphone thing cause you're cutting the experience right in two
Dude, I've gone down a rabbit hole of reaction videos, and I take my hat off to you for being the one who lets the song play through...right in through :)
I couldn’t agree more, and I’m almost jealous as a Tool fan from the beginning that someone is just experiencing the genius of this band... with so much to look forward to, and we suffer through years of anticipation for new music. It’s a hell of a ride that will change your entire view of music and how personal or relatable lyrical content is to another level, and I’m looking forward to going along with a new fan
Your so cool, love your pure reactions to badass songs and groups. Tool has always been one of my all time Favorite period!! Get best headphones and listen to all the nuances of the music and lyrics, it's just mind blowing!!!!
This video made me crack up. Absolutely love seeing people listen to Tool songs for the first time so I can bask in the feeling I felt when I heard them for the first time. This just happens to be my all-time favorite Tool song, looks like I found a kindred spirit. Love the channel, keep it up!
Tool is my favorite band. I've said it on another video of your's and I know these are semi-old videos. But, thanks for letting me vicariously live through you and experience the songs for the first time again. Feels great.
Tool is one of few bands that really grab ahold of you and take you on a different kind of journey. Listen to the entire album with good headphones on to get the full effect. Mindblowing bro.
This is my first review of yours. Long time Tool fan and this song is one of my, if not THE favorite. I really liked your review. I'm going to have to check out more. Glad you liked it so much. It's phenomenal. And I still get goosebumps where you said you did, haha
New subscriber, long time Tool fan. Been having a blast witnessing your Tool song reaction videos. I love seeing people’s first time reactions to Tool’s music. Thanks for sharing. If and when you get a chance you should catch Tool live in concert. Their live performance will take you to another plane of existence.
Well you’ve got a new sub. I don’t know how I haven’t found your vids until today, and this was EXCEPTIONAL. I’m a true hip-hop fan for life, but TOOL is by far one of the best bands of all time. Now I’m gonna go binge watch all your vids 💯
Nice review man. I really felt the passion and conviction in your voice. Of course, I had to add that Right in Two is definitely Tool Top Three for me. So I tuned into your channel for your reaction.
Watching you enjoy Tool makes my day. My kids grew up with Tool in my car damn near every day. Ive been to Tool concerts with my son twice who is now 23 and we're going to A Perfect Circle next week. But watching your reaction is exactly how I felt when I got the bug. Bands have come and gone on my playlist but Tool has never gotten old.
Always happy to see someone get turned on to Tool. Their music is a journey, hits you in the gut and mind... and I hope you enjoy the entire catalogue of journeys. They're my favorite band.
Bro!! Absolutely loved this reaction. Have you read the lyrics to this song? It will make it that more meaningful bruh...love your reactions, keep it up!!!
Been a Tool fan for years and I have to say that watching your reactions is bringing me back to hearing it all for the first time again. Those goose-bumps aren't going away lol. 20 years later and hearing every song hundreds of times....I still have them.
Really, the whole album, from start to finish. Honestly that is the only way to listen to any good bands album. Pink Floyd The Wall, and Wish you were here are excellent examples. ua-cam.com/video/yCXrgASzf50/v-deo.html
This is the 2nd vid i watched - I am about to watch all of his reactions - Watching somebody fall in love with my favorite band - waaaay awesome - priceless entertainment - Tool is my music bible as far as rhythm and song structure as a producer.
Just stumbled across your channel. That’s what Tool does to you bro, goosebumps and the feels. Your reaction brings me back to the first time I heard tool.
I don't sub to react channels but this guy genuinely takes in what he's checking out and his reactions are authentic. Props. Reacts to good music too. Very open minded from what Ive seen and I respect the f outta that. Subbed.
Just discovered your channel, your reactions are pure dude I love it! You should definitely watch the video to this song too though it’s so powerful man
Until I was 13, I was really into rap and hip hop but the direction it began to go had me searching for music with more meaning. I asked a friend who was rock and metal guy for some suggestions. Tool was the first one out of his mouth and the next day, he brought me their CD Aenima. I was BLOWN AWAY and became an instant fan. I even jumped on my slow ass dial up internet to search for lyrics and everything was just exactly what I was looking for. Lyrics with meaning, compositions with drastic changes in feel and time, and a perspective that I had never seen or heard before. Tool is that band that you’ll never forget the first time listening to.
m0nstaman I’m down to take a listen. I do listen to some still. I just don’t like mumble, and I’ve tried to listen to it, but just didn’t like it. I do like Tech 9 a lot though, but he’s been in the game for a long. I’m open to suggestions. Talent is talent.
@@jaimeecherivel2927 jeez, tech n9ne, I haven't heard that name since middle school lol. Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly literally changed my life in some ways. VERY underrated/underappreciated album (probably my favorite hip hop album period) and if you haven't already, definitely check on Kendrick's DAMN and Good Kid Maad City projects, cause they're great also. He's a fantastic storyteller. Also, Lupe Fiasco's last two projects (Tetsuo and Youth, Drogas Wave) are incredible too. All those albums are driven by strong narratives and take you on a straight up journey, as they should. Not to mention that some of the entire albums (like Tetsuo and Youth, which you should listen to backwards btw) are double entendres/metaphors in themselves. Lupe's most recent album Drogas Wave is nuts. Made me feel like I was reading a book to study for a test, lot of thinking going on there. Those are the only two hip hop artists I'd put on Maynard's tier for lyric writing at the moment though :/ There are a few others I could give you that are damn near it though (like Roger Waters tier).
m0nstaman thanks. I do like Kendrick Lamar, but I’m not familiar with those songs you mentioned. I’m one of those who if I like it then I like it. I don’t stick to just one style within a bubble. Thanks again for the suggestions
I really like watching you write the songs because the parts that likes you of the most of the ones that light all tool fans up and every other song that I've seen you rate thus far. Seldom do I ever comment on these things but when I do it's because I feel a need to. Keep doing what you do there are those of us out here than enjoy these and you're every reaction to the same thing as we were acted to every time we've ever listen to these marvelous songs by Tool
I know exactly what you were feeling. The song basically is telling how humanity has taken everything the Creator, God, Allah or suprem being of the universe has bestowed upon us. And used it in every way other then it was intented. It tell how angles are watching in disgust and disbelieve at the way we have taken these gifts and squandered it away. How we tend to take some thing good and manipulate it into something used for evil and ultimately to bring the end to mankind. The instrumental i believe is describing two sides at war. Battling to the last man. Just my thought. May not be the way Tool wanted it to be intended. But thats what i got from it. Either way its one of my all time favorites. More Tool Brotha. PS: love your takes. Keep em coming
"Like, I wanna restart this video. I'm not going to...but I want to." 😂😂😂😂 I know this is now a 7 or so month old video but...fuckin welcome to the family, bro. It's awesome watching someone fall in love with Tool.

2) those who have never heard Tool.

Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here
It is possibly the greatest verse that has ever been in a song since the beginning of human beings making music.

for years i have thought the most powerful and meaningful lines i have ever heard in ANY song is from this song... “repugnant is a creature that would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here”... SO POWERFUL with SO MUCH MEANING... it is so REAL about the human race
I love how you feel it bro. I cant get anyone I know to listen. watching you fills the void :)
I literally forgot I was watching a reaction video until you paused it again that’s how mesmerizing tool is
Right on bro, glad to see people appreciating the quality of tool.
Glad to see someone enjoying music as much as the rest of us. You also need some headphones for any reaction but specifically for Tool to pick up all the nuances. Then if you want the listener to hear what you're hearing, try and get your audio output through the recording device.
Also, every new Tool song you hear is going to be your new favorite song.
Mah dude, there's a reason it takes ten years for them to put out an album
I saw an interview with Maynerd where he said FI was ready, done and packaged up, ready to go in 2009. He said his self doubt got the best of him. He wasn't sure it was the best it could be. He kept us waiting for 10 extra years. They spent all that time cursing and hexing the album. That's how they got all 10 spots on Billboard's Top 10 in 1 day when FI dropped. No other band or artist has done that. Tool did what seemed impossible/unthinkable for sooooo long. Keep your Tool on top, so you won't lose it
This is my favorite song, I salute and clap at the exact same time in the song when you do.Respect and thank you for sharing that moment.
2.5 minutes in: “that’s the best part of the song.” LOL buckle up
Hahaha...the verse that starts with "repugnant" is amazingly melodic.
Dude i just found your channel yesterday. I love that you dig tool. They have a new album coming out soon. You should do the headphone thing cause you're cutting the experience right in two
Ron Klue ‘soon’
@@johngilbanni6385 Hehehe
Dude, I've gone down a rabbit hole of reaction videos, and I take my hat off to you for being the one who lets the song play through...right in through :)
Your connection with music is very powerful. I hope it inspires others.
Now THAT is a TOOL reaction 🤙
CYBER DEMON he sees the magic, he feels it.
I remember my first time also. I cam't remember how many times I played this record over and over.
Your so cool, love your pure reactions to badass songs and groups. Tool has always been one of my all time Favorite period!! Get best headphones and listen to all the nuances of the music and lyrics, it's just mind blowing!!!!
That’s pretty cool man you gave that person a shout out! Good video man. Like how u kept singing that part riiight in twoooo lol. Nice!
I say do an album review on the Tool album Lateralus
Uhh YES!!!! Way more so than 10,000 Days. Most TOOL fans I know didn't care for most of that record.
Best album in history 100%
I'm glad you're getting into some of the best progressive music right now.
There's real art in progression, and Tool highlights it best.
This has been my favorite video series ever. Golly, thank you, dude.
And it only gets better bro! There is no bad tool song. Next you should do parabol/parabola next
Joe Loera the lyrics to that song are incredible
For sure, some of my favorite. We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion
Try Wings for Marie, part 1 and then Part 2. Best of the best. Keep it up, love your videos
You know a song looks good when you look sad when you realize it's about to end
New subscriber, long time Tool fan. Been having a blast witnessing your Tool song reaction videos. I love seeing people’s first time reactions to Tool’s music. Thanks for sharing. If and when you get a chance you should catch Tool live in concert. Their live performance will take you to another plane of existence.
Well you’ve got a new sub. I don’t know how I haven’t found your vids until today, and this was EXCEPTIONAL. I’m a true hip-hop fan for life, but TOOL is by far one of the best bands of all time. Now I’m gonna go binge watch all your vids 💯
Lateralus is their best album imo but 10000 days is still really good. Cant really go wrong with any of them
so right
Nice review man. I really felt the passion and conviction in your voice.
Of course, I had to add that Right in Two is definitely Tool Top Three for me. So I tuned into your channel for your reaction.
tool wings for marie part 1 and 10000 days part 2
david howard yes! But with focus on lyrics and a background on his mother.
You’ll definitely want the lyrics. Extremely powerful. Recommended to do nothing but lyric videos for Tool songs.
completely amazing album and that "song" is the crown jewel.
Tee the greatest love song ever written
This!!
This is my favorite song by Tool. The combination of the lyrics and the instrumentals is on another level.
You should listen to their cover of Led Zeppelin's No Quarter! It is absolutely amazing!!!
😊Dam...thanks for the reminder😊
"PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE"
It's like a right of passage..
What happens when you cram too much talent in one place? It makes a Tool!!
Man I am digging your reactions to Tool, been watching a lot of your videos. Def one legendary band that will influence generations to come.
Always happy to see someone get turned on to Tool. Their music is a journey, hits you in the gut and mind... and I hope you enjoy the entire catalogue of journeys. They're my favorite band.
Well, prepare to go down a rabbit hole. If you’re already digging Tool, the rest of their catalog will not disappoint you.
Bro!! Absolutely loved this reaction. Have you read the lyrics to this song? It will make it that more meaningful bruh...love your reactions, keep it up!!!
You have great taste in music. I like how you listen to the whole song too and don't chop it up too much.
Been a Tool fan for years and I have to say that watching your reactions is bringing me back to hearing it all for the first time again. Those goose-bumps aren't going away lol. 20 years later and hearing every song hundreds of times....I still have them.
So happy you found Tool.
Also. I like how you actually pay attention to the music you listen to, unlike some other reactioneers.
Stinkfist - Tool
Really, the whole album, from start to finish. Honestly that is the only way to listen to any good bands album. Pink Floyd The Wall, and Wish you were here are excellent examples. ua-cam.com/video/yCXrgASzf50/v-deo.html
Definitely!!!
STANKFIST!!!!
Yes! Anything from undertow or opiate!
This is the 2nd vid i watched - I am about to watch all of his reactions - Watching somebody fall in love with my favorite band - waaaay awesome - priceless entertainment - Tool is my music bible as far as rhythm and song structure as a producer.
“That was the best thing I’ve ever heard.”
Same. This song is a gd masterpiece, and an underrated one at that.
Dang bro, I hope you still listen to hip hop at least though. There's some incredible hip hop out right now.
m0nstaman I’m down to take a listen.
I started listening to them around 13 too. My mom of all people is the person who introduced me to them. They are by far my favorite band.
Dude you were mesmerized! :D
Man, very happy you loved the track. It's on my top 5 of all time. Big, big ups for the review. And yes... the whole album is great.
I love that you love this!
"Like, I wanna restart this video. I'm not going to...but I want to."
😂😂😂😂
I know this is now a 7 or so month old video but...fuckin welcome to the family, bro. It's awesome watching someone fall in love with Tool.
Welcome to the Tool family brother. So stoked that you're so stoked on them. Much love bro.
