Canoe Trolling Motor Mount - Easy, Cheap, DIY. No drilling through canoe.

Put a trolling motor on your canoe to spend more time fishing and less time paddling. I made this mount at home and brought it on my fishing trip. Fit on the canoe nicely. No need to drill holes through the top of the canoe. People are selling these online for $60, but just take a couple scrap boards and get a couple bolts and you're good to go.

I would recommend tying a safety rope from under the head of the motor to the carrying handle of canoe. If the board would break or motor hits something and comes lose, you won't lose your motor.

Turn the bolts going down.

I wanted the wing nuts on top, so I could easily reach them to tighten with just some fishing pliers without reaching underneath. You could put them the other way especially if this was going to stay in place for a long time.
