Would be a lot more stable and handle well with someone else up front, or a couple of bags of builders sand as ballast.

I’ve put some miles on this setup since the video and yes it’s much more stable with a more balanced load. Even took the whole family on an hour ride no issues. Cheers!

LOL concerning the counterweight up front! Good job on the build.

Bad idea. The function of a canoe's narrow design is for easy paddling. If you're gonna toss that out with a motor, you should buy a 10' or 12' square bass style boat that you only paddle if your troller dies.
    Paddle a canoe.
Motor a wide boat you can stand and easily cast in all directions. A boat that is COMFORTABLE for two people.
Both vessels are about the same price.

You sound exactly like someone who has never done this. As someone who has, done it, many times, it's a brilliant idea and will work quite well! Good job!

Yes, but you can launch from anywhere you can with a normal canoe, and a roof rack for a canoe is way cheaper than a boat trailer, so it's not all doom and gloom.

I've done ALL of it... kayaks (paddle, peddle blades and props), canoes (with and without a motor), boats (flat back canoe i.e. Gheenoe, paddle and motor, flats boats, speed boats, sports fisher, pangas), rafts, fresh water, saltwater, surfing on 4 continents, motor boats, sail boats...... You didn't address a single point I made. You just invalidate it by calling me inexperienced when you have no idea of my experience level.....
      Bah bah bah..
      Good luck.
