Please note that by default, remote engine start will run for 10 minutes before it falls below the engine stop line. Add more 10 min by repeating these procedures.
I live on the 3rd floor. My car stays on the carport and I can't see it. The remote start works from inside my apartment. I'm very impressed. I just wish when I depress the brake pedal, the car doesn't shut off.
I was able to start my wife`s 2022 CRV by following this procedure, twice. But now suddenly, it doesn`t work anymore. WHY? Is there some sort od reset I need to perform? WHY won`t the remote start work anymore?
Is there a way to keep the remote start running after entering the vehicle with either the key fob or physical key? Soon as you try to get out of park, or depress brake pedal the car shuts off. Defeating the purpose of remote start and putting more wear on the starter or engine...is their a workaround so that the car knows it's you and not a thief so we can have full remote start capabilities?
Dose your honda have that auto stop and start thing where the engine turns off at red lights etc? If so maybe turning that off will stop it from doing that. Just a guess.
It's a safety feature so your car won't get stolen while it's running, you have to get in it and press start button while pressing break pedal. Imagine if someone walking by heard your car running and breaks window and tries to put car in gear? That's why it shuts off when you enter and put in gear even with key fob. It shouldn't but they forgot to program it that way I guess?
@sean8102 it won't, I turn off that auto start n stop feature. It's annoying, and it really doesn't save you much fuel. Plus, from all rhe stop n restarting it wears up the starter.
I preferred the remote start on my 2016. It has a way longer throw than 100' and the remote has an LED screen to let me know that it did start. On my new CRV, I can't tell if it's started unless I'm standing right there which totally defeats the purpose of having a remote start. JS.
‘23 Accord Sport Hybrid. When I used remote start all it seemed to do is put the car in ACC mode and activated lights. No cabin temp adjustments and I still had to apply brake & push start button. What’s the damn point??🤔
Honda CRV 2022 sahibiyim.
Hate to tell ya but normally remote start is when you’re not looking at vehicle. So flashing lights don’t help. No flashing lights on the remote that would help.
Does not work on my 2023 Odyssey Touring. It is enabled on the navigation system, all doors are locked but won't start. Also tried the Hondalink but there is no remote start selection. Any ideas?
It's easy to use Honda remote start but if the hood latch is broken and I just bought the Honda then no remote start ain't gonna work thank you so Carvana for selling me some wrecked Honda seems like a lemon to me
I have been using a Pilot 2024 for a few days and to start the remote start, if there is a wall with two windows, the signal does not go through. This did not happen in any version of previous Honda cars. Is there a solution to increase the power of the remote start?
Leave ac or heat settings on depending on your weather condition at the time, and it will be turned on automatically when you remote start it. I do it on my 2024 honda accord and it works like a charm
This is useless feature! It doesn’t work if, the other key fob is left inside? 100 feet away? What happens if, someone breaks a window and drives off?💁🏼♂️
No, it wont work if there is another keyfob inside - this prevents the "break window, drive away" concern. The car wont be able to be put into Drive/ driven away, if a keyfob is more than than distsnce, therefore preventing theft potention.
@@shellinstlouisto add to that, drivers still need to do the start process by stepping on the brakes and pressing the start/stop button while having the keys on you.
Imagine this, it's -45C outside. Everything is frozen, the engine barely turns over. And now you just want to start the vehicle and drive away? The windshield and windows will be full of ice both on the interior AND exterior, every surface will be cold and your engine will be damaged if you try to drive away as soon as you start it. This is why remote starters were invented. Here in Canada, we need to let the vehicles run anywhere from 10-30 minutes before we can drive them. And that's even if you have them plugged in to warm up the oil/engine coolant. Sure, it's bad for the environment but that's just the way it is. We can't all use dogs and sleighs to get to work 😜
I think all Honda vehicles (my 2020 CR-V has it) have the auto engine stop thing. Where the engine shuts off when you fully press the brake pedal and are stopped for more than 3 seconds and turns back on as soon as you lift the brake pedal. And this remote start will turn the car off after 10 mins if no one gets in with the key and drives. Plus like someone else already pointed out, there are plenty of scenarios where this is a nice feature to have. I live in the US in the south. So for me it's the opposite. It's nice being able to remote start my CR-V when it's 100+ degrees outside and let the car cool down a little inside.
and in the summer I can leave my dog in the car running on remote start and hit remote start twice so I have 20 minutes to run in and shop while my dog waits comfortably.
Thank you for a clear concise video. I looked in owners manual 🦗🦗🦗 on how to operate, only the "On" feature for remote must be set to On.

You need to physically start the vehicle now. My Ford does the same. Some sort of fuel saving or security feature I'm guessing.
