Hi 👋 New subscriber here. Your video popped up on my news feed and thought I’d check it out. I have a particular interest in the Peak District, one of my favourite places to go walking. Dovedale’s amazing when it’s not heaving with people! 😁 Was that Thorpe Cloud in the background? Great video, and a great location for an adventure. Thank you 😎
Lovely vid Stuart....fantastic relationship with you and your daughter...Dovedale is beautiful but well overcrowded...not a place for solitude even in the winter...Was drawn to your channel again when I heard on the TV that the powers that be are trying to ban wild camping....disgusting....ok some damage by some maybe...but after watching this vid you and your daughter clearing your own rubbish and other visitors rubbish who dont give a damn I can only admire you two...it was a pleasure to see...if ever a petition appears to sign against the ban appears I can assure you my name will be on it....Cheers Lez.
Thanks Lez , yes loved the camp but I have never seen anywhere so busy. Thankfully we managed to find a fairly quiet spot to camp 👍It's very sad that wild camping is now not allowed on Dartmoor anymore, people should be encouraged to go out an experience what our amazing countryside has to offer , majority of wild campers live by the leave no trace motto and will carry out any rubbish they find. Hi Stuart, your video was recommended my YT and im glad it did now, loved this !! ive been trying to get my daughter on a wild camp for a while now and she's not having it at all, she will come hiking no problems though !! glad to of connected and ill catch you on the next one - Alan Team54
In the village of Ilam, so it's not that far at all. I just parked on the road, you will see some parking on the road just past the Ilam Cross monument. 👍

Yeah it was certainly very hot, ground was so dry I struggled to get the pegs in!

Another great vid. Dove Dale is pretty much on my doorstep (20/30 mins away), and I’ve often thought about doing a camp up there.
Yeah it was pretty good, down by the river it was packed with people but one we got up higher it was pretty quiet. 👍
