The first time I visited the Peak District was by mistake as I got held up in road works and was running late and decided to find a quite place to sleep in my car.. when I work up in the morning on top of a hill over looking a valley I had tears come to my eyes as the views was stunning. Every one should visit it at least once in their lifetime.
Richard this is a really stunning piece of work . It is quite inspirational. I have visited only a handful of these places in my 30 years of living on the edge of the Peak District (Macclesfield) - your work leaves me hungry to explore more, and a handy list of specific places to visit. Thank you for sharing it.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing these familiar places from the air. I live in Chesterfield and constantly tell people how lucky we are. Thanks for sharing some amazing footage
Even on a wintery evening like this, it's still a pleasure to drive from Sheffield back to Bollington. It becomes the Dark Peak... except for the bright welcoming lights of Hathersage, Hope and Castleton - the pubs welcoming you in on a dark stormy night...
That is a fantastic voyage around the Dale's....well done, I'll take my hat off to you. I really like the way you have presented that entire video especially that you took the time to label every location. I can imagine how much effort you have put into that especially the leg work. You sir are an inspiration.
Thank you, I appreciate your comments. The video took me the best part of a year to film, I put it together from extracts of videos I filmed all over the Peak District. I got over 100,000 views of this video on Facebook.
Great video.I lived in Froggatt village as a kid,1942-56 and know all those Edges. In later years I lived in Sheffield and being a shift worker got out into Peak District walking on my midweek days off when it was quiet.
This really is incredible a great uplifting film and belongs on TV also to lift up the nation - Thank you for letting me see some of where I've been and places not yet seen. David McGough
Richard- you are a gifted film maker with thoughtful edits and great musicality. I particularly liked the way you showed humans, whether driving or walking, interacting with the landscapes. You move the drone in imaginative ways, and I suspect a lot of set up was needed for some shots but your visualisation is on point.
Simply stunning. Thank you for capturing the sheer beauty of a place very special to me. Everyone should visit the Peak District. You will feel very humbled. Thanks again Richard. Stunning
Thanks very much, Richard; this is the most beautiful description of Derbyshire I have ever seen. I'm from there, and now live in Hong Kong; this shows the beauty of the county I am so proud to have come from, a magical place for a youngster!
Fantastic piece of filming, having worked lived and played in the Peak District for many years I shall now use this to explain to my friends just why I live here. Thank you.
Hi Richard. I just watched excerpts from this superb video on Alan Titchmarsh’s program this morning. That set me looking for your stuff on UA-cam - and finding this! Congratulations on a brilliant piece of work, beautifully synchronised with the music you chose. 👏🏻👏🏻
That my friend is a complete guide to the peak district Tons of places I haven't heard a very well put together piece of quality film, A huge like from me.
Hi Richard, it's sensational. I've lived in Sheffield all my life - Visited Stanage for the first time last week and wanted to see if there was any footage around and your masterpiece just auto played - i've been transfixed. I'll be out and about more often as a result of seeing all these wonderful places, some known, most not! Cheers to you.
Thanks for this amazing video which I know you spent lots of hours putting together. The best thing is that they are tagged which allows people to create a list of places they can go to. I just got back from Peak District 2 wks ago and wished I saw this before. Now I want to go back as it looks like I’ve missed a lot. See, you’ve already encouraged tourism which is what travel vloggers like you make people do. All the best in your channel and I wish you continue on.
Hello Richard. Just wanted to congratulate you on such a beautiful film, expertly shot, edited and presented. We've been to many of those lovely places but you have also introduced us to a number of new ones. We're lucky enough to live in the area and your movie made us appreciate it even more! Outstanding work, so thanks.
Really impressive footage and editing. Absolutely insane the number of locations you have visited and put together to showcase not only your talent but what’s on offer! Well done and congrats on a excellent video! ☝🏼❤️ If your local wouldn’t mind a trip out of your up for it 🤘🏼
The views are incredible! I did a DJ set on my channel from the Snake Road and I am now thinking I should do some more from other beautiful sights from this video!
Richard - thank you very much for this, it is stunning! Sadly the lockdown is keeping me and many others away for now so it’s wonderful to be reminded how amazing the Peak District really is. I’m looking forward to catching up with it asap.
Great bit of filming of my own county. I'm lucky to live within 30 mins drive of some of these places (Staveley) and you don't realise what's on your doorstep. Only now in my 50s have I started photographing the Peak more. My late fathers job took him round the Peak nearly every day for 24 years. I always envied him for that in later years, god bless him!
I'm not surprised. My friend was leading a walk along Taxal Edge during that week but we reined our plans in and skirted just around the edge of the Peak District. Even then we had to stagger through 6' snowdrifts. A wonder weather year :-) I was also supposed to be driving to Sheffield mid-week but every single route across the hills was closed. I don't go down Winnats Pass when there is any snow on the ground! That's another great shot in the video
Amazing video, you’ve got some great shots there! Are you able to tell me what the rules are on flying drones in the Peak District? I want to do it myself when I’m hiking but not sure which places allow drone flights. I’d really appreciate your help/advice. Thanks!
It's getting more restrictive in the Peak District to fly drones. The National Trust don't allow them on their land and The Peak District National Park don't like you flying them anywhere in the Dark Peak area. Definite no fly areas are Chatsworth and Derwent/Ladybower dams. Thanks for your comment :) www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visiting/frequently-asked-questions/drones
Hi Richard, hope you are well? how would you feel about me using a very small clip (maybe 3 seconds) of this video in an intro I'm looking to create for my channel. I would of course credit you for the footage and put a link to your channel in the text. Cheers Craig.
Oh what a pity they did not have drones when I was younger and did the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Hikes!! BUT its through sites like this than I can almost do them again. Thanks for letting me Dream
There are areas where they are not allowed which includes most of the dark peak area. The reason given is to protect ground nesting birds. Drones are explicitly forbidden between march and august. However I do see a lot of people flying drones and we are outside the nesting season. I've been approached by park rangers, some have told me to land my drone, others have been enthusiastic about the drone and asked me lots of questions and wanted one themselves so they can catch poachers. My advice is be sensible, don't fly too close to people or wildlife and you should be OK. Avoid Chatsworth and Derwent/ladybower reservoirs, they are definitely no fly areas. this link may help www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visiting/frequently-asked-questions/drones
@@RichardBowringvideos i know its a while since you uploaded that video footage (which is amazing btw - may I ask which drone did you use?), however... if I will follow caa regulations and will not disturb any animals, can anyone tell me to land my drone ? Let's say some random people that are not happy even if I would be whistling there only (special kind)
@@NA-bt9mx Thanks, I used a Mavic Pro for this video. It's only land owners, park rangers, farmers etc that can tell you to land if you are flying on their property.
Hello Richard, I am getting in touch from ITV to discuss a project with you. Please do let me know your email so we can discuss further. Many thanks, Emma
What a beautiful film, makes me realise what a stunning location I live in and how much of it I've covered on foot 😍

Loved the snow blowing across the fields
The snow was filmed during the "Beast from the East" It was bitterly cold that day and it was so windy I struggled to get the drone back.
