Alright, now it's time to survive 24 hours, without the hiding spots.
YES
thats what I thought the video was about.
24 hours in the middle area of corvette on legendary
@@FoxyWoxy-pc8jj That isn't survival, that is a masochist's dream coming true.
There is no survival
only death
and explosions
I know this is a joke but it’s not possible
The voices are actually the Gravemind talking in reverse, it's part of a song from Halo 3's soundtrack. Apparently the track can play in ODST firefight sometimes.
I think its black tower
Dragon Soul what voice?
@@asiankoolaid0062 the gavemind
Yeah, the voices is just part of the OST and is one of the 1st-wave incoming songs that can play.
Gravemind on Earth during Halo 2 confirmed lol

"Can we survive 24 hours?!"
"Nope. Here's a different video."
Richard Polson i know bruh misleading af
I thought they were gonna play fire fight normally for 24 hours and try not to die at all, I was like “wow this video is gonna be cool af”
yup, pretty dumb lol whatta letdown of a video
the title says "can we" not "we will"
@@woahokbro yeah and they didn't try
Heres me thinking you were actually gunna fight for 24 hours rather than just hiding
Firefight wasn’t underrated though. It was a fan favourite. Always has been.
It was in ODST. It barely felt like you could find any people to play ODST. In Reach it was just another addrd game feature that nobody played it. Only since has it gotten somewhat recognition it deserves
343 GIVE US ODST FIREFIGHT DAMNIT
@@Zillionjape well mcc has plenty of people to play with you on firefight
Xer the T'vaoan it’s because it was somewhat popular, but many people didn’t even try online because of the amount of time it took to matchmake making it even worse. But with the huge boom in players that changed.
Damn really? I've actually never played it. I thought it wasn't gonna be good or something. I'm definitely interested now though. What map is the best for firefight?
I feel like the title should include "Could you survive for 24 hours in every Halo Firefight Map?" or something like that, that would more accurately describe the video, but that's just me
Agreed. Not taking away from the video, RocketSloth has great content but I came expecting them to actually play on a single map for 24 hours haha would make a good video too but that’s a lot of effort
Yup. Kind of click-baity
More like "Can you glitch into any place in a firefight map that would allow you to survive indefinitely." Considering they don't actually play the game at all.
Its just clickbait
Okay hear me out here.......for Halo Infinite, what if they introduced Forge Firefight? Set up your base how you want it with weapons you want from across the Halo games. Customize the enemy types that spawn, when they spawn and how many rounds and waves you want. How fun would that be?
Devmaster 07 so AI in forge
@@redtalon8947 Yeah basically same firefight we know and love but you get to forge your base before hand and customize everything
Walls would have to be breakable though
All of you have to do now is show this to 343
RedTalon 894 and especially forge AI 343 needs to see this as well
When I was a kid I thought the only way to get those coins to buy my own armour so I grinded for hours

Yeah dude now you're 16 bro hell yeah
I survived a day in reach, it was boring until the music came in
Something fox Studios what music?
Catalyst - D B the theme music that comes in when a new wave starts
This went from can we survive 24 hrs to the best hiding spots
Really hoping Infinite has a classic firefight mode alongside a more modern take on firefight.
Hopefully the art style isn't the only good thing about the game
Shanenon Wolfe we can only hope 🤔
Jon Moore I miss that feel when you’re playing ODST firefight and you’re out of lives and medkits and the brutes are just outside the door, now that’s survival.
they need to bring back split screen co op
@@jonolow That, at least, is confirmed.
Rocket Sloth: Has an idea
Also Rocket Sloth: this turned out to be much harder than we thought
Could you do a video where you and your friends ACTUALLY try to hold out in firefight for 24 hours WITHOUT using any of the hiding spots you've given us? Like actually take out some waves and complete some sets.
I agree seeing a 24 hour survival would be awesome.
Seeing how difficult Vidmaster: Endure is, which only take a couples of hours, surviving 24hrs is next to impossible legitimately. Still, seeing how long you can holdout is the whole point of Firefight and would be entertaining anyways.
If you do it on easy it is but on heroic or higher hell no
@@Mastemine498 make it a stream and you got a deal
Fyi the weird voices ( 11:31 ) are actually part of the soundtrack, although it isn't ODST's ost which is odd
Sounds like the shadow temple from OOT
its the voices of bungie employees telling you not to break the game
B4256MaStEr ._. No it’s mendicant bias
Just stopped playing Firefight to watch a video about Firefight
"Can We Survive Halo Firefight for 24 Hours?"
What you expect: badass last stand
What we got: the best spots to camp afk -_-
I would enjoy seeing an actual 24 hour survival video like the title suggests, no bug or glitch exploits just see about surviving the entire time.
The ostrich strategy: Stick your head underwater and pretend the problem does not exist.

Lord Krythic you just had to make it political didn’t you?

I've always thought of firefight in ODST to be like the pilot rescue scene in Black Hawk Down, where those two Delta Force snipers hold out with the injured pilot at a helo crash

I mean honestly I’m an average player at the game, but a few friends and I managed to survive like 4 hours in Reach firefight on heroic. Surely a few of these legendary only masterminds could survive 24hours if they actually tried
Them: Says there not that good at halo
Also them: beats halo campaigns without moving
It’s probably considered cheating as far as challenges go but on Reach you can basically make yourself invincible and put enemies at soo low health you can tear down countless armies of hunters with any weapon on any difficulty without an issue.
This was my personal way of levelling up in Reach back in the day anyway since we didn’t have xbox online, just set everything to hunters, make yourself invincible and stick it on legendary difficulty and just go ham on the covenant!
Me but sadly your offline progress doesn't save when you go online which made me pretty mad
@@shanenonwolfe4109 I remember that struggle well, got past most of the early ranks grind, lost my xbox live for a while but ih well, played wnough local customs til I was lieutenant colonel grade 3 or something like that, not top tier but in the higher ranks considering it was all offline grinding, and as soon as I got live again I was set back to warrant officer 2 for some reason, pissed me off so bad cause I had my spartan look d o w n for what I wanted
The voices are really creepy.
Huh? He was joking about the voices. Didn't you know that?
RipleySawzen it’s the gravemind backwards and flood soundtrack. Also adding “didn’t you know that?” Is incredibly unnecessary as you can CLEARLY tell that they didn’t. Even if it was a joke.
@@AwakeWheel-fi9tm joke much?
@@RipleySawzen ... It wasn't a joke. The voices play between waves or to signal an upcoming wave.
WHOOSH
I pre-ordered Reach and right from the start, I was on a mission to be the 1st to get to the top level armor unlocks. I was pretty much temporarily crippled in bed 24/7 recovering from a back injury. I was also an insomniac that had to be awake for 50+ hours before I could get even 4 - 5 hours of sleep...then the cycle reset...giving me a guarenteed more time to work on it than any other living person was likely to have. I did a little experimenting, and determined that doing firefight gruntpocolypse was the fastest, steadiest, most efficient way to earn XP. I mostly favored Corvette, 'cause it was so small and quick, but I ended up on Overlook a bunch too. At some point I had to go afk and looked for a good hiding place where I might be safe. Pretty sure it was in the building ya start in, but below deck. It worked. Obviously that mode is on a countdown timer, but my spot was good enough to make it to the end, completely afk. I also got full XP for those if I remember right. At one point one of my friends got a hold of me and told me that I was at the TOP of at least 4 - 5 of the Halo Reach top 10 lists...including highest XP. Then we learned about the cap for the unlocks, so I got stuck in limbo, waiting for them to let me continue. I turned it on one day to check, and I had been XP banned for a certain amount of time for "cheating" or some such nonsense. I was so pissed, I walked away from it...never to return.
11:32 the voices is the gravemind from Halo 3. Also it is part of the soundtrack as well for some reason.
Yes i known it
I also think its grave mind
Or bungie employe making joke of you that he knows you will get pass that barrier

When you make a video about surviving 24 hours in Firefight, you kind of expect to see a video about actually surviving for 24 hours in a firefight... This is just trying to find some map glitches...
In Halo Reach on the Courtyard map I once had the drop pod land on top of me and I got stuck inside, me and my cousin had bottomless clip on and I had a fuel rod cannon so I was forced to kill myself after many attempts to escape. I havent been able to recreate the glitch, but I havent tried very hard sense then. Anyway I spent a lot of time in firefight because I didnt have anyone to play the other gamemodes with and I never bought Xbox live. Reach is my alltime favorite game and I love firefight.
Thank you Rocket Sloth for the awesome content and the nostalgic memories they bring
not being able to play with others, I understand and I feel
Rocket sloth: hides for eternity in firefight
Noble six: bruh
those voices are from a halo 3 sound piece. some flood themed song
Auxigamerz tf how?
What voice?
The Lizard King dude stop asking watch the fking video
The Lizard King 11:15 outside the map on Crater (Day)
there are no voices it's all in your head
9:20 that was so wholesome
I remembered this mode, loved it. I was terrible at PvP so when I was with the lads, it was clear I was never having fun in MP. Switching to firefight made me smile. Same thing with CoD and Zombies/Split Screen
ODST's firefight was the perfect mix of theme, setting, and art style that Reach never really managed to recreate. That and the fact that you had good reason to try and hold out as long as possible thanks to the Vidmaster achievements.
I knew the creepy voices were a thing!, I still remember them from when I first heard em', I honestly don't remember another video addressing them, they're quite similar to the ones you get to hear when checking out the Data Pads from Halo: Reach, so, they're certainly purposeful, but, I can't really find a connection between the two since the Assembly was only mentioned in Reach.
Edit: Thanks for telling me what's up!
Fun fact, if you didn't read it in other comments, it's the Gravemind speaking backwards from the default Halo 3 soundtrack, bit of an audio glith considering I don't think it's intended to be in odst. Hope that helps!
@@steve7745 That's not the correct use of the word glitch, it's also not a bug. Even though ODST was built with a slightly modified Halo 3 engine, it's literally impossible for it to have been accidentally ported over from Halo 3's files or campaign because Firefight is a mode unique to ODST. It would almost take effort to make a mistake like that. Maybe the audio team accidentally imported the wrong track into Firefight while compiling but that is also highly unlikely. They were just reusing assets.
@@voodoodolll thanks for the correction! Wasn't trying to spread misinformation or anything, playing games and music is more my speed, not making em! Good to know a bit more about that since I always assumed odst was just built off the same basic bits and stuff from H3 could have been left behind
SensualCream it plays at the start of every new round so its not accidental

Watching this brings back memories of me and my friends and cousin spending all day trying to find glitches on Halo 2 maps. Good days
This should of been named: hiding spots in firefight.
I just want you to know that your channel is a gem in the halo UA-cam community. Keep the vids up!
11:15 it's the ghosts of the Elites the Brutes kill on this level in the campaign.
THE META LOL. They haunt all those that betrayed the Sangheili on that fateful day
Really now
Fun fact: Halo 3: ODST was created specifically for the purpose of testing out firefight. Bungie threw a campaign in to make $60 for it sell well, and to give an interesting story as an ODST, but it was effectively an afterthought following firefight’s completion.
Jasondurgen the campaign is so good tho
Loved the facecam ending, i have a nearly identical pair of glasses. Great video bud!!
it's so cool to see people still making halo videos and the

Thank you for making videos, this self quarantined is driving me nuts.
i was hoping this video was going to actually be you guys attempting to survive 24hrs of fighting enemies with regular health and lives. maybe another vid? would be most interesting on odst.
"Sir, we thought they fell off the cliff"
"THEY VERY CLEARLY DID NOT"
On beachhead, I and my friend found a hole in a pile of rocks leaning off a rock pillar near where you drop off in the campaign.
Damn, i was really looking forward to stream highlights of surviving 24 hours fighting in firefight
Vidmaster Endure on windward. that was the most heartpounding moment I ever had playing any Halo game hands down. But the Recon helmet was so worth the potential heart attack
I remember me and my best friend way back when, we grinded firefight for 9h and 28m one fateful weekend. Just to complete one of the vidmaster acheivement. What a memory.
This brings back memories, me and my grandpa used to play firefighter on reach but he passed away in November
Sorry for your loss. Me and mine did the same and still do.
I miss playing ODST firefight.
If 343 would bring it to the MCC.
Finger112 they are
This is the perfect example of glitches that are fun and don’t break gameplay and it’s why I kind of miss older games full of fun glitches like this
Im so underskilled that I cant even last the first set of waves😂
If you crouch behind the little boxes inside the covenant corvette, the ones inside the spawning area, you can just sit there for a while without being noticed.
I've done this for bathroom breaks, helps with toggle crouch.
I would really like to see a 12-24 hour stream where you actually legit do try to survive with some friends you guys would have to like take turns eating and protecting each other lol
It's like when the ohter person goes afk
A more accurate title being
"Can we find all of HALO Firefights glitch spots"
Cause seriously, this is literally just firefight afk the video
I actually used the firefight options in halo reach to create a hunter boss battle - there’s a pair of hunters with ridiculous amounts of health and an army of grunt minions you have to fight. It’s really fun; you should try it.
I guess the demons are planning to give penance to new mombossa.
For Beachhead, if you travel down the road the warthog is facing, right before the kill zone are a bunch of rocks. Climb up onto the furthest one right before you hit the barrier, all enemies act like you're dead and run to the center of the map. Useful for a DMR build with a friend on the ground to lure them out one by one, wraith also ignores you and is content with lobbing bolts into the side of the building.
I can’t believe this channel doesn’t have more subscribers, you guys are amazing. Keep it up :)
I absolutely loved “Firefight”! Especially making it how you want it, I loved going up against Hunters only with an energy sword and super speed and low gravity
I only played Reach's and never knew why only the original enemies appeared (the ones from CE)
Dude you are so AWESOME AT VIDEO GAMES. Also shoutout to your mother for pre ordering ODST. ;)
for the odst level "lost platoon" you can also get the warthog and steal one of the choppers and then get you way up the rocks and over to the building on the corner of the map by the big plateau where the wraiths spawn and hop on top of it. me and my brother would grab snipers and snipe from up there.
11:32 sounds like gravemind
Longest I’ve made it is roughly 45 minutes i legendary reach firefight, once black eye comes on it becomes so difficult to survive because of your lack of shields. This is duos with my buddy so typically we set up a cross fire on some maps so either person can easily target other enemies when their focused on one of us. Phantoms are an absolute nightmare and will kill you in a few hits, elites with confusion rifles are terrifying, skirmishes rush you like nobodies business, and hunters simply refuse to die regardless of how many rockets/nades you put in them. You have to be very methodical in what power weapons you use, how many nades your able to save, and if your lucky and are able to stock pile some covenant weapons from the previous wave.(plasma launcher, fuel rods, and needle weapons)
I believe those voices are actually apart of the ODST Firefight Soundtrack itself. Perhaps your team mates had a different track playing at the time? If not, then that’s pretty weird.
"Survive for 24 hours at night" ... Luna: The night will last FOREVER!
in Corvette you can actually just stand on top of the shield, there is no kill barrier there
Quarantine makes a man do crazy things.
Great video btw
There's another option on Lost Platoon. There's a little garage in the center area. Every time a brute brings in Chopper, take it and put it in the garage, after a bit you can just make a pile of them and hide behind it. My friends and I use to do this during sleepovers and we'd wake up in the morning still alive behind a pile of dozens of Choppers. Maybe this logic could be used with the Ghosts on Coastal Highway?
In the campaign on Lone Wolf people have been able to survive for 24 hours by moving crates into a tight perimeter around themselves beside a wall with no space between the crates/movable objects with toggle crouch on.
On Corvette i think this could work since were are alot of movable objects as i recall.
I’ve done a 3 day firefight session on Reach. No dying (invinciblity is on), legendary difficulty, and the weapons are given a overpowered damage modifier for us Humans. The covenant are set to be deaf and near sighted, they throw grenades alot, and the bonus round waves are heretics. No drop ships for the waves, just constant spawning in of new waves of covenant. I only slept for like 30 minutes in those three days. My total score was in the millions when I ended the match.
Halo reach: one of the first big games I played, and my first game was in firefight.
Me and the father still play to this day
I absolutly love Instillation 04, mainly because that was the only Firefight map that I played with a very good friend.
Dude we made it till the last mode but there was a brute with a hammer but 19
It done my head in after an hour, I couldn't imagine sitting through 24 hours of this...
You already know some crazy people are gonna find the hiding spots
Love your channel dude keep it up !
100k soon!! You guys deserve it
And here I thought I was gonna watch a kick ass gameplay video. Nope, just another glitch video.
Firefight I still play it to this day. Especially after buying MCC on PC.
As a kid trying to get all of the achievements, I used to drive the warthog up on those rocks on use the turret for kills, really too me back seeing u guys use the same area I used to use years ago
Challenge: Halo CE with the inverted controls
That isn’t necessarily a challenge, some people use inverted controls
@@andrewexists4517 or default controls to those who change their binds
In ODST on Last Platoon you can pile up Choppers and hide between them. This is how my cousin and I stayed alive through Xbox Live while sleeping.
bro.... this is highly underrated
I remember doing roughly 8 hours straight legendary ODST co-op, and it got to the point where there was so many stockpiled choppers that Atroix would be proud, but eventually we quit because it was the same thing wave after wave
Your mind porb was like you konw what I quit
@@near5148 Yeah? It was just too much so we decided to quit
Next comes actually playing firefight for 24 hours and not falling asleep lol
Odst firefight was amazing, abusing the rounds with "to memory" at least 2million scores on every level. All about that magnum
My buddies and I would always try and see how many choppers we could fit in the spawn room on the ODST zoo firefight map. It’s maybe a fun challenge? Idk think about it.
My longest firefight was back in ODST, and was over 9 hours on non modified heroic. Remember driving around a big building with a warthog and a friend for hours and hours, and then quitting after around 9 hours due to the long time.
The score was around 1.2mil if i remember correctly and I was hooked on firefight.
Hope its included in infinite
11:34 I believe those voices are part of the Halo 3 soundtrack, I think it's Mendicant Bias speaking if you play it backwards
I'm not sure of you've covered this glitch before, but i have a VERY interesting glitch. Years ago, I was playing co-op Halo 3 with a friend. The mission was (I think) The Covenant. That had the special pink wraiths that were anti aircraft, that you could never drive as they would always explode. This specific wraith was on the edge of a cliff shooting at hornets out in the skybox.
BUT, I managed to actually drive one, and shoot with it. What we did was my friend went in the back of the wraith to destroy it (I think by beating it) and I went behind the left 'wing' in the corner while walking in place and holding the enter vehicle key.
The game took it as the driver was dead and the vehicle vacant, but before the wraith could destroy itself, it allowed a new driver, me.
I drove it until I was forced out because the next section could not fit the wraith through a tunnel. Once I exited, the wraith immediately exploded as it was supposed to do before.
I think you should try to get it!
That's a well known glitch, actually. You can also do it by standing over the driver's compartment, beating opening the hatch and bursting the driver's armor, and then headshoting the driver while you crouch and hold the boarding button. The key is to hold the button down when you can't see the "Hold (button) to board Wraith" prompt.
