THC edible gummies, staggered 10mg dose per 2 hours of flight. It's nice to be good and high when you land and have to wait to deboard from the back row of the plane
Ohhh no no no. The whole purpose of wearing a money belt is to keep it on your body AT ALL TIMES, including on the aircraft. If you remove it and stick it in the seatback pocket in front of you, you're risking forgetting it at the end of your flight, as well as having someone reaching over and stealing it while you're sleeping. The rest of your suggestions are great but this one is a HUGE no-no. If it's uncomfortable to wear it because it presses into you, loosen the belt and push it up a little higher above where the seat belt sits. Or go into the bathroom and loose the strap enough so that you can wear it crossbody style under your T-shirt. But whatever you do, DO NOT remove your money belt! Dude, seriously.
Former flight attendant here - Never ever put your valuables in the seat pocket in front of you. We find dirty diapers, snot filled tissues, vomit bags, dog pooh bags, diabetic needles etc on the regular
Take two aspirin at the start of your travel day. The aspirin will help to prevent blood clots from forming and alleviate minor aches and pains before they start. Also, I bring saline nasal spray. It helps me to deal with the dry airplane air.
I was going to write about aspirin. Also: as he already have pill case - it is good idea to add some aspirin there too - for long flights it would be good to take some extra pills after few hours
Bad medical advice is bad. There is no reputable study of the efficacy of Asprin in managing or preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis in travellers on long haul flights. Talk to your trained medical practioner, it's unlikely to be harmful unless there's some sort of contra-indication to usage. Aspirin is adjacent to the other NSAID class medications, like Ibuprofen, Naproxen and will absolutely do a number on your gastro-intestinal tract; all of this class are very effective at ruining your stomach and should normally be prescribed with a proton pump inhibitor. If you have a long flight ahead, I would suggest compressions socks, sit in the aisle so you can stretch legs and talk to your doctor before taking medication based on old wives tales. @thetravelcoaches ☝
Visine is a vaso-constrictor (constricts vessels). It makes your eye look better, but actually isn't good for them. Eyes get red when irritated, because the blood vessels are working hard to remove the irritation. You're better off using a lubricating drop to add moisture, without constricting the vessels.
Exactly! I use gum often to freshen my mouth after eating if I can't brush my teeth right away. I don't feel like brushing my teeth on the plane...I'll use gum and mints and water.
Regardless of whether you are riding in economy or 1st class, aircraft air is exceedingly dry and can wreak havoc with your sinuses, especially on longer flights. To provide a comfortable travel experience, I use "Ayr Saline Nasal Gel." Just before I board, I visit the bathroom, squeeze a bit on a Qtip, and gently swab both sinuses. On long international flights, you can easily reapply more if you feel the need. Ayr gel has been a God send for me, and I highly recommend it!!
I consider traveling a luxury. I find happiness when being on a plane and going to another country. Most people in the world can't travel. Cost, visa requirements, etc. Having a US passport is sacred. I'm grateful even its economy.
It is even better to have some Europeans passports ;) I agree that traveling is luxury and having passport that allows you to go to most of the countries is great :)
I've been with too many people who left their stuff in the seat pocket. One girl had to leave our trip, pay for a flight to an American Embassy location to get a new passport, which she left in the seatback pocket. My brother has left, not one but, two boze headphones in the seat back pocket. Don't use that pocket for anything you don't want to lose!
couple things - (1) charging cables (to use with the power bank ) (2) I would not recommend visine. Refresh or Systane would be better for your eyes (for the long haul) and lastly, (3) disinfecting wipes, (4) hand sanitizer (small bottles, and lastly, seriously (5) wearing depends. sometimes the wait for the restroom can be unpredictably long.
I always check a bag because I don't want to take my suitcase through the airport, and I don't like the overhead bin. Then I take a canvas zip top large tote bag, with FOUR, yes you read it right, outside compartments for water bottle (which I fill at the airport), coffee thermos (fill at the airport), a small spray bottle with water and maybe some scented oil that I can spray on my face when I feel hot, and whatever else in the last one. It's soft so I can stuff it with snacks, sweater, headphones, scarf, glasses, etc and put it under the seat in front of me. My valuables are either in a small purse inside this bag, or maybe in a fanny pack that I can wear as a cross body bag. Then when I arrive at my destination I can use this carryon tote when I go shopping, or doing day or overnight trips.
May I strongly suggest not putting your valuables (money belt) in the front pocket. This is super niche, but most accidents are during take-off and landing (and most people survive), and if you have to evacuate it will make a huge difference if you have your passport, cards, phone on your person. Also, anything in the front pocket can be forgotten, stolen or get dirty. But the rest are great tips.
EXACTLY! I keep my necessary stuff like my passport and money on me, attached, so that if ANYTHING happens, I am not slowed down looking for things, nor am I ever going to be that person who prevents a safe evacuation by bringing their damned luggage with them on the slide!
Yes! I left my passport in the front pocket after a long day of travel from New York to Australia. Was super tired and had to go back for the passport and fell over breaking my elbow. Ambulance called and taken to hospital. All because I forgot my passport.
I would add Imodium and Benadryl (or generic equivalents of each) to your medicine pack. Vomiting is bad enough, but you really don't want to be running to the toilet every 5 minutes, especially when there is likely to be a line. Also, you may not know of any allergies, but that doesn't mean you don't have any. Having something to help you if you need it can be a life saver, sometimes quite literally.
My biggest problem is the absolute lack of sleep. No matter how long the flight, no matter how comfy the seat and big the legroom seem at first... I never manage to sleep 😭
*****Having some meds for things like upset stomach and headaches can be a game changer, but I use travel sized manufacturer containers. If you have loose pills without the container and they are discovered by TSA - or customs on an international flight - depending on the officer, you may be delayed while they check into the fact that they are what you say they are. Also, a reminder that prescription meds must be in the container that has the prescription on it. To not do so is a crime in some areas of the world, including much of the U.S.
The MOST nightmare thing is the inbuilt head cushion meaning your neck is bent as your head is just slightly pushed forward. You may not notice it but over time it can cause discomfort and will often be the reason you can't get comfortable to sleep.
About the money bag - I would never put it in the seat pocket, but having one on you for the plane is a great idea. If you need to evacuate the plane in an emergency, your most important items are already on you (literally!) and you won't be tempted to grab bags or extra things. It's also helpful if you need to go to the bathroom, you don't have to worry about nosy neighbors going through your bag.
I'm only 5'1. I won't fly without it. I gave one to my daughter who is 4'8". She flies frequently. One time, she forgot it at home so she paid airport prices so she wouldn't be without one on her flight.
I take these with me on the flight: 1 - Therm-a-Rest lumbar travel pillow, I don't always need to use it but some seats don't have much lower back support. It's compact after all the air are out. 2 - Listerine pocketpaks fresh breath strips instead of brushing my teeth inflight, don't want to use their water to rinse. 3 - Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, I don't have makeup to remove but the wipe cleans my face without drying and it's individually wrapped, doesn't take up any room.
I have a disability and I cannot make it thru the flight to Italy without being in a lot of pain. So I ordered some cushions and a foot rest to try. If you have a medical condition you can bring a note from your doctor and have them in a separate bag so it will not interfere with luggage as they are bulky. ALSO I worked in ophthalmology for over 20 years. Do NOT use VISINE. USE Systane ARTIFICIAL TEARS. Visine has a drying agent, so you have to use it more. Just an FYI
I would agree with the comments about your money belt tip. That seems like an invitation to theft in the middle of an overnight flight. Also, I’ve seen people put some nasty stuff in airline seat pockets. I try never to use those. I put my sling strap around the tray table arms and it makes an effective seat pocket for me.
Absolutely must have Immodium AD in that pill kit. I was in Iraq with my unit back in 2004 and my body decided it wanted to do an untimely release as we're in convoy. Had a fellow soldier not handed me the Immodium, it would have been horrifying not only for me but my driver as well. 😮
I experienced something similar recently after an airline canceled flights 11 hours before start off 15 day trip. Lost so much sleep during night fixing issue and my gut acted up!!! I was so thankful another UA-cam travel content creator recommended immodium. It's now non negotiable for me.
Hahaha, YES to packing Imodium! Reminds me of that one time I stupidly ate about 1kg of grapes just before a transatlantic flight... I was so thankful to the BA crew for having Imodium! Also, I heard a horror story of a guy who had to take a dump during a flight on a plane with NO toilet!!! Everybody on the small plane, including the two pilots were grossed out by the stench - the guy took the dump in a plastic bag in the last row of seats... they were all dying to get off that flight!
I don’t use a toothbrush and paste inflight because they keep saying the restroom water isn’t potable. So to brush your teeth you have to take bottled water with you to the restroom. On the plane I use Wisps (or equivalent brand)-tiny individual toothbrushes with a dab of paste built in. I always try for reusable things but this is one of the few disposable exceptions that’s worth it.
it's fine, its not like India or something. Just relax, brush your teeth with the sink water. If people were getting that sick they'd do something about it
Whether it's a 3 hour flight or a 16 hour flight, besides my over-ear NC headphones, I pack my flight essentials [cell phone, nasal spray, medications, lens case (with solution in it), eyeglasses, gum, tissues, Shout wipes, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, face mask, eye mask, small hairbrush, etc.] into a sports fanny pack that I'll wear if airline is not strict, or put into my personal item if they are. Once at my seat, I strap it around the back of my tray table. It doesn't interfere with the operation of the tray table, everything is safely within reach and not falling onto floor, and there's no need to use the filthy, yucky seat pocket except for trash. And it won't be inadvertently left in the seat pocket as could happen with what you do with your money belt. BTW, on that topic... A money belt is supposed to be worn tucked into the waistband of your pants, not just sitting under your shirt and on top of your pants where it is still plainly visible and can easily be stolen.
Those are my go to even for overnight camping trips. Anything longer than that and I'll pack a full toothbrush for the trip but make sure to have enough for the flights. I actually keep a couple in my purse for particularly stinky meals. Love those things.
Dollar tree has contact lens cases with different color lids. I decant: face and hand lotion, powder/base makeup, headache and sleep meds. I even have one that is lip balm and neosporium. Tiny containers in a small baggie in my personal item. No more larger bottles of anything.
Yes to all your suggestions (although the collapsible water bottle was a messy fail for me). The worst part of flying economy is the PAIN from being cramped. I take ibuprofen before every flight, do seat exercises, try to walk the aisles as much as possible, etc. with minimal relief. I truly feel for larger people (I'm 5'2" & 100 lbs) and wonder how they stand it! The airlines are shameless in their pursuit of profit over basic passenger comfort! P.S. I would never put my valuables in the seat pocket due to questionable bacteria plus theft risk. I wear a (no velcro) neck wallet tucked under my shirt/sweater and it is so comfortable that it stays on the whole flight.
1. If you hate people grabbing your chair near your head to sit down or kicking of your chair happens behind you, sit in the last row, preferably in the middle of the plane. Not the very back where it's super noisy and the restroom doors open and shut constantly. 2. Recommend getting a pocket liner for your tray table. Provides pockets for your phone/tablet when the tray is closed and a table cloth to cover the dirty tray table when opened to dine. Enjoy your travels! 😊
As a regular flyer economy (especially economy plus) is OK, but a LOT depends on your neighbours! Flew the new Comfort Plus class last week with KLM and i LOVE IT A LOT!!! 8 seats wide instad of 10 and 4 seats deep instead of 5. BIgger seats end lotsa room for "only" a few hundred bucks. PLUS sky priority, plus prio labelled ckecked bags.
I take a small garbage bag or even like a Walmart bag and put it in the seat pocket it front of me. Several uses, if I get sick (rarely but it has happened), you can slip your things you need on the flight, like earphones, or iPad or whatever so it’s easy to reach and you don’t have to expose your items to the funky seat backs and finally I put my garbage from snacks, Kleenex etc into it and throw it away on my way out
Here in Europe some cheap airlines (Ryanair for example) have seats with no pockets at all - less for them to clean, helps with turnaround time and I guess it also encourages people to take fewer items with them in the cabin. I try to avoid flying with Ryanair if I can but if I really have to, I have one very light yet durable textile bag that holds whatever I may need while I'm in my seat (always a window seat so I can lean against the wall and not be disturbed by the other 2 fellow passengers) and I hook it from the seat in front using a carabine. I can easily access all the stuff I may need (water bottle, sandwiches, hand sanitiser, paper tissues, eye mask, earplugs , headphones, battery pack etc.) without asking the other 2 passengers to stand up so I can go looking for them in the overhead compartment, I'm not limited by the lack of a seat pocket, even if there is a seat pocket - I don't havr to put my stuff in that filthy place and finally there is no way I could possibly forget the hanging bag when I get out.
What I find worst about flying economy is the cramped bathrooms, the cramped seats, the cramped hallway thing between the seats and the cramped everything
I tried one of those collapsible water bottles, they're horrible. Yes, the fold up easily, But once you fill them up, they won't stand up on their own so they take up so much more table space by lying flat, you can't slip them into a side pocket of a bag while you have water still in them, etc. I literally threw mine away in the airport as useless ...
Yeah, they are not the most user-friendly. There are for sure some better options on the market. I really just still carry the one I have because of how easy it is to pack away! Thanks for watching❤️
I assumed so, he’s the 2nd UA-camr to recommend it, but the main thing that I thought when I first saw it was that it would be difficult to clean properly 🤷🏻♀️I like my Yeti, easy to fill, clean, and fits in the side of my travel backpack 😊
I have had one for years. It does fit in the side of bags in the pocket. Mine stands up wheen it has water in it. Plus it has a hook to easily attach to a pac or bag. I think you must have got a bad brand.
@@jaimetarne9436 There are different collapsible ones. The one shown , which is recommended, will not standup. If you don't have a way to hang it off a clip, you'll have to hold onto it in your hands, or empty it - it will not stand up like a regular bottle in a side pocket, leaving your hands free.
Yep, gave mine away. I just went back to a regular empty water bottle and fill it at the water stations or get water from plane attendant. I just make sure it fits in the side pocket of my backpack. It was one travel hack I tried and was a fail for me.
Puts the money belt in the seat back pocket… Me: NOOOooOO!😬 Just use a body bag and snap it around the arm/s of the tray table (after disinfecting everything you’re likely to touch, including tray table arms, of course). When you’re going to the loo, take your bag with you.
Carry a resealable silicone sac to hold that money belt in before you put it in the back pocket to keep it clean. Permanently tape a ribbon to that sac and hang it over the edge of the seat pocket to remind you it's there.
I have claustrophobia, so being in a cramped space, heightens this phobia. Side note, my phobia was first created after sitting in an economy seat next to a person who spilled over into my space. Since then, I will never fly economy internationally. Claustrophobia will not be cured by those pills, it took a lot of self talk as well as the flight attendants assisting me to calm me down. I am blessed that I have not had experienced a panic attack since flying premium.
I have a slim power bank that fits in my lil electronics case that has a flashlight built in and an attachable book light. Also remember to not pack power banks in your checked bags.
@@leftieknitter7392 Possibility (slim?) of lithium battery catching on fire in cargo hold with other luggage. That’s what I read somewhere. Sorry I don’t have a link. 😊
Flying any US carrier is my biggest no go for flying. Last time I flew American cross Atlantic, the seats were so worn out, I was sore for 5 days after. NEVER EVER PUT Valuables in the seat pocket, keep them on you. They can disappear if you forget them. If you are changing planes, you can be screwed if you leave your valuables in the seat pocket. The inflatable tube pillows that you lean over and put your face in , let me get 6-7 hours of sleep on long haul flights. Many European and Asian airports don't make you take out liquids any more. At Singapore, Bangkok and Stockholm they didn't make me take out my laptop.
I prefer a thin silicon bag instead of a hard case for medication, so I can keep the tablets inside their sachets if I cut off a few tablets at a time. That way I can prove to security the name and dosage, I can check the expiry date before each trip and keep them sanitary. I also never travel without hydralite sachets, multivitamins or earplugs.
I use a silicone bag as well. I remove blister pack pills from the cardboard box, flatten the box because of dosage info and staple the blister-pack to the flattened box. This especially works well for little used items like cold and flu pills and anti diarrhea medication.
Good advice, thanks. Especially the compression stockings. I gets swollen legs too. Thumbs up! Make sure with the pill kit to check for medicines that are prohibited in certain countries. You would be surprised that some over the counter meds in the U.S. are banned.
What I use when I travel is QuiqLite Flashlight. It clips to your shirt or just to have when going to the restroom. It has a red light which allows you to see in the dark, especially when you have to use the restroom when the cabin is dark. It also has a white light. For me this is something I carry always when traveling.
Thank you for the idea. I always travel with the flat flashlight from the $tree because it's small, bright and takes no space. I'm going to figure how to attach a clip to it. Thank you.
I have an oversize hoodie sweater that I wear on the plane. It has an extra large hood that I can put over my eyes if I'm trying to get some sleep. Front pocket to keep hands warm. It's warm and cozy. This is so valuable that I never ever wear it unless I'm travelling because I want it to last forever!
Be mindful, when traveling internationally, about just putting over-the-counter medicine in a little pill case. Countries have different laws about what drugs are legal to bring in -- for example, Japan doesn't allow some decongestants you can get OTC in the U.S. Also, if any of them are prescription, it's very important to either keep it in the original prescription bottle with the label on it, or carry the prescription with you (if you don't want to carry a bunch of pill bottles, you could carefully remove the prescription label and stick it on a small ziploc bag, but if so, carry the prescription from the doctor). Even if it's just a minor thing, customs agents in your arriving country can use it as an excuse to pull you aside into an interview room and start going through everything, including your social media accounts on your phone (and trust me, this happens to foreigners coming into the U.S. as well as Americans going overseas).
I have a small bottle of hand sanitizer that I got from my bank during COVID. It hands on my handbag with a small carabiner. I never leave home without it. I have individual sanitizing wipes that I keep with me to wipe down the tray table and surrounding area because they usually are not well cleaned.
Flight complaints: #1 legroom, #2 using the lav is just awkward on a plane. Plusses: crossbody bag is great for keeping essentials convenient and for comfort. As for moneybelt, I like the pouch style that has belt loops and then just flips under your pants. No strap around you. Instead of collapsible bottles I prefer an insulated mug so my drink stays hot/cold a long time. A space sacrifice that's often worth it. You have good tips/hacks. Thanks!
Luv your videos! Fantastic suggestions in this video. Thank you for speaking SLOWER. Awesome that you have low cost options. BTW..... all flight from here in Australia are long haul! So when you say 5 hours is a long flight...... we just😂. I live in rural (country) Tasmania, so going to Europe is 24 to 32 hours ..minimum. Thank you again for your wonderful suggestions. 😊
Flew to Europe this year $2,300 to fly economy. Was the worst experience ever. Anything more than 3 hours stuck in tiny seat unable to move has made the decision to never fly more than 3 hours a good one 👍
6:24 I must've taken well over a hundred flights, and the most recently flight I took, first time ever, my AirPods case fell out of my pocket in between the seats. 😪
You should also bring some Neosporin. What you do is you put some in your noise, keeping it moist and not dry on your flight. Game changer. As well as some nasal spray.
@MKPisblessed I use Vaseline instead. A couple of years ago I had nasal surgery to correct a deviated septum and that’s what the Doctor told me to use. I’’ Not telling you that your way is wrong, just another other option should you ever need one.
@@purplemavthanks for the info.!! I had heard about using Vaseline but was cautious since I have nose issues - I had polyps removed etc. So its good to know a Dr. suggested this to you, so its not just an online wives tale. 😉 I also appreciate how you stated you were not discounting the other person’s idea (very classy), you were merely adding another option.
Try pocket size Vaseline or Aquaphor; it is harmless for the nasal passages. Neosporan is a triple antibiotic, so in your nasal passages, which is a fast route to the bloodstream, your natural essential bacteria that protect you are neutralized. But the idea to coat them is good, just use something plainer. 13:12 😅
A lesson I learned the (very) hard way: try to have a good meal before your flight, you never know what kind of situation awaits you after landing. In my case it was a major natural disaster. I survived for two days on the last meal before flying and a few biscuits I still had in my backpack
agreed. my children are now teens, but I pack 3 ziplock bags of snacks - 1 for on the plane there, there, and on the plane home. Food they will eat if flight is delayed on of off the tarmac, or luggage is delayed, or they didn't like what was served to them. A distraction and pre-emptive hangriness solution.
2:26 The worst part is I stand at '6 3". Because airlines are trying to get more $$$ for less. My knees pay the price. My back too if it's international.
Bonine is better than Dramamine imo. Dramamine causes more drowziness, so if you need to sleep on the plane its better, but if its a short flight, maybe not.
Thank you for your time and posting. Off to Vietnam in October to see if I want to retire there. I'm tall, I'm already stuffed in there, then the seat back in front of me comes down. But only on US Airlines.
Careful about putting your money belt in the seat pocket. First of all, that seat pocket is filthy. Ever seen it being sanitized? Think about what people put there. I put the items I want to have handy in a silicone bag and then placing it in the seat pocket. Easy to wipe off! Also, if you don’t know your seat mate, that money belt could be tempting. I hate to say that, but I actually found someone in my purse when I woke up during a long haul flight. I really enjoyed your tips! I already have the Airfly in my cart!
Low dose, enteric-coated aspirin. [Especially for long flights]. Try to exercise in your seat, and also try to walk around the plane every few hours. Reduces the risk of DVT. [Deep Vein Thrombosis]. Also, have some good exercise before and after the flight. Jet-lag is worse if you are dehydrated and stale/stiff.
My normal travel setup is pretty close to yours. As far as pet peeves the seat itself is often the culprit. Sitting for that long is not great to begin with and a few years ago when I traveled for work a lot, a flight that was more than 4-hours caused a literal pain in the backside, lower back and tailbone. I recently had to take a 4.5-hour domestic flight and this time I brought a foldable seat cushion that's made from memory foam AND gel that I found on Amazon. I purposefully sat in my seat without getting up on the outbound flight and wow, it made a huge difference! I was a little stiff but no tailbone pain. On the homeward flight I moved around and stood up a few times as I normally do, zero discomfort. Upside, it actually worked well for me so it's going to be added to my travel kit. Downside, It's a little bulky even though it does fold in half and this one didn't come with a travel storage bag. I've since purchased a shoe bag and just plan on strapping it to my backpack. It also gets a little warm if you sit on it for a long time but it's a small price to pay for pain relief.
Try Systane eye drops. Visine contains a vasoconstrictor; with extended usage, it may cause more symptoms of red eye (dilated vessels). Resulting in rebound effect.
Ditto on the meds, I have gotten sick in the middle of the night, it's soo nice to have a few meds on hand to help you sleep instead of looking for an open drugstore in an unfamiliar town
@@rohanpawar619 not travel while sick? I get that flights may be hard to avoid/expensive, but why people travel by public transport while coughing, sneezing, etc is beyond me - just stay home or use your private car! [I am from Poland, we do have great network of public transport and basically unlimited sick days - as long as you are really sick your doctor will "prescribe" it to you]
@@MaraMara89 so do they buy airbus to travel. Nobody is happy to travel during may be they have some circumstances due to they had to or have to travel
Maybe they can't cancel but, by being considerate they can actually reduce the chance of passing on their viruses. Wear a mask to help prevent transmission. Cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Not coughing all over everyone. Washing their hands instead of sliming their virus everywhere. And teach their kids to do the same. There are ways to reduce transmission of bugs but most people are too selfish and ill-mannered. Didn't take long for people to forget this stuff after 2020.
I wear a mask during flights. I only take it off to eat and drink. I used to get sick anytime I traveled, but I have not since I sanitize my seat and area with alcohol wipes and wear a mask.
If you have even slightly long legs I would recommend bringing a wide baggage strap or something else to tie your legs together with. I find myself unable to fully relax my legs in a plane seat and have to engage constant tension, with my legs tied together I can relax them fully with no problems. You want enough width to avoid it painfully digging into you over the hours.
Great tips! About the cough drop...I gave them up years ago and would take a peppermint candy instead. Personally, the medicine in cough drops makes me feel bad and the candy soothes my throat just as much. Not a travel tip, but I also gave up Tums when, some years ago, I couldn't find in stores the wintergreen Tums. A spoon of apple cider vinegar in water is just as effective for me. Not convenient for travel, though. HOWEVER, ibuprofen is irreplaceable.
If you dislike the residue left after wet wipes, I always use a face flannel wet in water and squeezed out, kept in a plastic zip lock bag. Far more refreshing than wipes, cleaner and no residue.
You can also use the airplanes restroom they have essential cleaners that are really good for free! u just have to flush the loo (so it’s clean with clean blue coming through) and dip a fresh tissue in fast then wipe your face with very refreshing and it cleans to
I always bring ear plugs to help with the pressure from takeoff and landing . Benadryl is great for overnight flights for sleeping too. I have never heard of toothbrushes being provided by the airline-American Airlines definitely doesn’t provide them for economy class passengers 😂
How about a bag or packet of fruit chew sweets? I find my ears get uncomfortable with the changes in air pressure, particularly during the descent phase. I need to swallow frequently to equalise the pressure and make my ears pop, and something juicy like starburst/ fruitella/ rowntrees really seems to help!
The absolute worst part of flying economy s the ever shrinking legroom. I am 6'2" with very, very long legs. Currently the only airline I can fly is JetBlue. So, although I really like all the creature comforts you are suggesting, the only thing that would make economy travel more comfortable for is above the knee amputation.
I brought a purple brand seat cushion on my last flight. It made all the hard seats more bearable. It was a bit annoying to carry around but I also found it worked as a cushion between my back and backpack. Also gasX
I am short and the headrest hits me right on the back of the head, forcing my head forward. They can’t be removed, only adjusted up, which puts it at the top of my head and forces my head down. No relief!
Substitute Advil PM for melatonin. Takes care of your aches and pains while making it easy to fall asleep. It just got me to and from Rome like a charm. Also, Gas-X to combat some of the meals they serve.
My wife and I both have an AirFly, and neither work. I would like to see you present a video that shows in detail, every step, how to link them to your earbuds. So far there is no video that has successfully shown every step of the way. It either that or somehow, I was "lucky" enough to have two bad AirFly devises.
My biggest gripe with economy is the lack of back lean to the seats. You get an inch maybe if you are lucky which is more of a tease than a help. I always have a sore back by the end of the day.
Always get the left side window seat and when I have to use the bathroom which is rarely the person sitting on the aisle, doesn’t stand up to let me out to me that’s etiquette if I ever sit up the aisle I always stand up no matter the size of the person. I’m 6 foot 185 pounds.
I always have a gallon zip lock in my under seat bag. It goes into the seat pocket so that I can use it to slide my iPad and phone into without worrying about how clean it is. It also provides confidence that nothing I placed there has slipped to the bottom to be left behind.
I am a small slender person & I feel strongly that the seats on economy are way too small...even for me! How can normal size adults even do it? I couldn't even get into the bag at my feet...it is INHUMANE & should not even be legal
When the person or persons next to you spread their entire body out into your seat and/or leg space. People who yell at the passenger in front of them to sit their seat all the way up so they can sleep on the tray table. Especially on long haul flights.
What is something you never travel without for an economy flight?

Ayr - for keeping nasal passages moistened. It helps prevent bloody nose and crusty boogers.
THC edible gummies, staggered 10mg dose per 2 hours of flight. It's nice to be good and high when you land and have to wait to deboard from the back row of the plane
Looking for a flight for SEPT 2025 but google only goes to june 2025. Any tips?
You are supposed to keep pills in the original bottles.
In the pocket in front of me... seriously!!😂
My passport and money NEVER leave my actual body.
100% agree!
THIS SHOWS THAT YOU Don’t FLY OFTEN AS YOU WOULD KNOW HOW SILLY THIS ADVICE IS.
@@christianlawton7093I fly often, trust me, putting stuff in the seat pocket in front of you is not a good idea for many people.
Thanks for sharing and watching!❤️

I have found the worst thing about flying economy is flying economy
😂😂
Yep.
Word!☮️
It’s certainly provides a drive to be more successful
😂
Visine is a vaso-constrictor (constricts vessels). It makes your eye look better, but actually isn't good for them. Eyes get red when irritated, because the blood vessels are working hard to remove the irritation. You're better off using a lubricating drop to add moisture, without constricting the vessels.
Sounds strong. Maybe I missed it, but gum. Helps to clear the air pressure and keeps your breath fresh and mouth from getting too dry.
To provide a comfortable travel experience, I use "Ayr Saline Nasal Gel."
Just before I board, I visit the bathroom, squeeze a bit on a Qtip, and gently swab both sinuses.
On long international flights, you can easily reapply more if you feel the need. Ayr gel has been a God send for me, and I highly recommend it!!
Thank you!
I do the same thing. I love the product.
Yes, have used it, it’s great.
My dr. Just recommended this bc I use Dlonase which despise me out too much. It’s a game changer!
I couldn't have said it better. But once I was upgraded to business class at no extra cost and it was very nice.
I cried when I got my passport. Worked extra just to be able to afford it. Now I’m traveling soon for the first time, nervous but excited.
@@tinyalienxOmgoodness happy travels. So happy for you.
I love your positive attitude 😊
Liquid IV or any type powdered electrolytes. Bring my H2O bottle, fill after security and add electrolytes. Works great against Jetlag.
I long ago ditched the hard pill organizer in favor of EZY DOSE ziplock pouches which can be found on Amazon and pharmacies.
My biggest problem is the absolute lack of sleep. No matter how long the flight, no matter how comfy the seat and big the legroom seem at first... I never manage to sleep 😭
Qq😊😊 qq😊😊qq😊qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqaqq😊
A tray table cover is wonderful for travel. You put your things in the pockets and you can just grab it and go when you land.
Bought one to try out for next holiday
Also plastic grocery bag to line the seat pocket….they (the pockets) are filthy.
Remember to download items/ audiobooks ahead of my flight, economy or otherwise!

I'm 5'4 and bought a foot rest sling and it fantastic. I've flown transatlantic a few times with it and for me it's a game changer
I'm only 5'1. I won't fly without it. I gave one to my daughter who is 4'8". She flies frequently. One time, she forgot it at home so she paid airport prices so she wouldn't be without one on her flight.
I take these with me on the flight:
1 - Therm-a-Rest lumbar travel pillow, I don't always need to use it but some seats don't have much lower back support.
Thk u!
Just an FYI
Lack of leg room and personal space is my biggest pet peeve.
Yes that is the downside economy for sure!
Hi, 4ft 10 inches here!! 😂😂
At 6 ft 3 I completely agree. I always check the seat itch from Seatguru before I buy a ticket.
After going through TSA, the money belt goes back on and stays on. And never in the seat pocket.
This is a great one! Thanks for sharing❤️
@thetravelcoaches let's just say it's a lesson I'm glad "stuck" with me. 🤣
I experienced something similar recently after an airline canceled flights 11 hours before start off 15 day trip.
Thanks for the detailed comment and watching!
Instead of a folding tooth brush I bring a couple Colgate wisps for use on the plane and in the airport
Me too. No water needed and doesn't dry out the mouth like the toothpaste chewables can
I'd never even heard of those. Looked them up and will be carrying some on my flight to Greece. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!❤️ and the detailed comment!
Taking aspirin is good idea - lessen risk of blood clot and still is a painkiller [good idea as long as you are not allergic]
PLUS sky priority, plus prio labelled ckecked bags.
i bring a long scarf so that I can make a hammock foot rest by tying it to the tray table. Works wonders for my short legs.
Me too! It was a game changer!!
I purchased a foot hammock and love it. I'm short, so i am very uncomfortable unless I can put my feet up a bit. I haven't tried a scarf.
What a great idea!
I bring a tennis ball in my bag. They work great to relieve pressure points or "knots" (massage therapist trick).
That is awesome, thanks for sharing❤️
And you can toss it around the cabin for your entertainment. 😂
@@biker5662need a dog for this! 😊
Putting your valuables in a fanny pack or crossbody is also good for when flying alone - you can take it with you when you need to use the restroom.
I take a small garbage bag or even like a Walmart bag and put it in the seat pocket it front of me. Several uses, if I get sick (rarely but it has happened), you can slip your things you need on the flight, like earphones, or iPad or whatever so it’s easy to reach and you don’t have to expose your items to the funky seat backs and finally I put my garbage from snacks, Kleenex etc into it and throw it away on my way out
Awesome thanks for sharing❤️
I’ve started using a gallon reusable ziplock bag for this. Everything I think I might need during the flight is in the bag.
@@laritaskipper7686 I’ve used those too
Here in Europe some cheap airlines (Ryanair for example) have seats with no pockets at all - less for them to clean, helps with turnaround time and I guess it also encourages people to take fewer items with them in the cabin.
What’s wrong with Ryan air? People are so weird about them. I travel with them all over Europe and find them amazing
What I find worst about flying economy is the cramped bathrooms, the cramped seats, the cramped hallway thing between the seats and the cramped everything
I usually need more legroom in economy, so I usually pay for an exit row, or upgrade to premium if it’s a long flight.
That's what I do!
I take my handbag and everything important when I go to them bathroom.
Trust no one!
I always travel with a turtle neck pillow and a foot sling that hangs off the tray table...both economy game changer for me.
I have a slim power bank that fits in my lil electronics case that has a flashlight built in and an attachable book light. Also remember to not pack power banks in your checked bags.
Great reminder for people! Thanks for watching!
Why cant power banks go in checked luggage
Thanks for sharing!❤️
I use a silicone bag as well. I remove blister pack pills from the cardboard box, flatten the box because of dosage info and staple the blister-pack to the flattened box. This especially works well for little used items like cold and flu pills and anti diarrhea medication.
Multivitamins are poison, you can thank me later
Thank you.
Get a money belt or pouch with plastic zippers. No need to remove it for TSA. ALWAYS keep it on your body under clothing!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing❤️
Luv your videos! Fantastic suggestions in this video. Thank you for speaking SLOWER.
Awesome that you have low cost options.
BTW..... all flight from here in Australia are long haul!
So when you say 5 hours is a long flight...... we just😂. I live in rural (country) Tasmania, so going to Europe is 24 to 32 hours ..minimum.
Thank you again for your wonderful suggestions. 😊
Your supposed to wear the compression socks during the flight not after...
Take a few quart & gallon zip lock bags in carryon. If you buy food T the airport. This will prevent leaking.
@MKPisblessed
I use Vaseline instead.
I also appreciate how you stated you were not discounting the other person’s idea (very classy), you were merely adding another option.
Thanks for sharing❤️
@@purplemav thank you. I will definitely try both options
I always bring a couple of snacks with me.
Vietnam is amazing!! I hope you have a wonderful trip. Thanks for watching
The seats are too small width wise, and too close together.
Maybe you are too big
My Mom and I are leaving for Vietnam, early Sunday morning. This was the perfect time to make this video.
Have a great trip to Vietnam, thanks for watching❤️
@thetravelcoaches You're welcome! I am having a great time and will continue to!
You have any idea how dirty money is?
I always fly with water, a couple of snacks, sugar free throat lozenges and some gum. I also always travel with a shawl/small blanket.
Where did you find the foldable medicine box? Brilliant!
Any suggestions/reviews of neck pillows? I've never used them even when I was travelling a lot, though not many were night flights.
I would never put my valuables like my passport and money in the seat pocket! And then leave it there…
Wow! Scary!

Lysol wipes and snacks
The worst thing on flights is sick people coughing, sneezing and doing everything they can to get me sick too.
It is not the worst thing. It is natural. How can they resist that thing.

I use a travel sling for my feet. Makes a huge difference when travelling on long international flights.
You can also use the airplanes restroom they have essential cleaners that are really good for free! u just have to flush the loo (so it’s clean with clean blue coming through) and dip a fresh tissue in fast then wipe your face with very refreshing and it cleans to
OR, some wipes in the baby department are just fresh, clean moisture.
I always bring ear plugs to help with the pressure from takeoff and landing . Benadryl is great for overnight flights for sleeping too. I have never heard of toothbrushes being provided by the airline-American Airlines definitely doesn’t provide them for economy class passengers 😂
It seems every airline out of Australia, Asia or Europe provide them for long haul flights! Australians are used to at least 7 up to 30 hour flights.
They do for Premium Economy pax
Do you have to take a money belt off when you're going through security or the X-ray machine
6'7"" here and i know your pain .
I always pack contact solution and a case so I can take my contacts out and chill in my glasses and then put them back in right before we land
No relief!
Happens to me too 😢
Substitute Advil PM for melatonin.

I bring a towel for my back or neck support.
Ayr nasal gel before flight keeps nose from drying out
Eagle creek thing is really nice, i have one to and i don't mind wearing it throughout the flight
