This was so helpful, I've been halfheartedly trying to install mods for the past few months but always failed and gave up just because i didn't really care all that much for my first 3 campaigns... but now that I've got this down, I suppose it's time for my 4th! Thank you for this video, super concise and informative.
I did everything but not get in the mod manager that I havnt installed the script extender. I've already tried deleting it and redowload but still not working
Try this 😊 Larian Studios games use the local AppData folder, which is located at C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3. The AppData folder is hidden by default, so you can change your Windows Explorer settings to show hidden folders or use the Run dialog box to open it
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do you have the game installed? If so the folder will be there. Have you enabled hidden folders to show the Appdata folder?
@@FelipeArthurferpa this would probably cause incompatibility. So your friend would need the same mods, or, you would need to deactivate the mods before playing with your friend, which is easily done in BG3MM
Erm, not sure where you’ve gone wrong mate. Check your mod load order and the mods you have installed. If you’ve followed the steps exactly that absolutely should not happen
i cant seem to drag and drop the mods directly into the inactive mods section like you did at 2:40 any idea why that is ? i tried checking the settings but i dont think there's anything there.
Hey, I’m not sure in honesty. Did you import the mods into BG3 mod manager using the import mods option? If so, did you import the actual zip folder itself rather than the seperate mod files? Failing that, try doing ‘file’ reload all and see if that helps. If not, perhaps remove the mods and try to import again. Let me know if any of that works for you!
@@VeteranJoystick it's alright i figured it out 10mins later. I was dragging it straight from the zip file into the section. Putting it in a random folder and dragging it from there worked, you also did say folder in the video, my bad. regardless thank you for replying!
I'm still stuck on getting the mods to actually appear into the game, my issue is that I've modded the game before but because it's been awhile and my game finally crashed, i don't remember how i actually got the mods to show up. I've got all the mods i want, will put them on the active side, save order and export to game and then when i launch the game from Mod manager and try to make a new campaign or load into one i didn't start anything on, nothing shows up. My game is downloaded on a different drive (D: drive) meanwhile the Appdata, public and user along with mods is on the C: drive. I don't recall if i had a issue with this or had to go to Preferences on MM and change directory paths.... Any help would be appreciated!
Hey, good question, I would certainly make sure to check your mod manager directory pathing to ensure it’s pointing at the right folder, as a first step. I’m not at my desk right now but I’ll have a little look for you later to see if I can help further 😊
@@VeteranJoystick My Game data path is set to D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs gate 3/Data The game executable path is D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs gate 3/bin/bg3.exe I'm not so sure what's the issue with it as when I'm in mod manager and press GO and look at the mod folder and game folder it seems to pull up what it's supposed to pull up? The mod manager will also install the script extender if you look under the Tools menu
