Hi, so do I need windows for this? Runner options, I don’t have the same win version that you have. I’m so confused 🤣 I’m just trying to get vortex for Skyrim to work off steam I’ve followed so many guides but seem to be coming up short
I can't seem to point the Vortex app to the BG3 pfx/drive_c file even though I have the BG3 folder in there. It doesn't seem to want to find it. How do I point it to that folder? I'm trying to do this via Steam approach at the end, and you mentioned pointing it towards that file, but I can't navigate to the hidden folders, and when I type in the address it doesnt find it
so I need to uninstall it currently, and then when I do the "run Vortex Mod Manager" step, I point it to the exe file for Vortex that is in the pfx for BG3? That's the plan? Does the Vortex File just sit inside the pfx, and then the BG3 game file sits inside the drive_c file inside that same pfx file when i'm doing the mod? Then i just transfer the BG3 folder back over to the common folder it came from?@@GrownUpGamingGUG

Hmm I’ll try using different proton builds then. I installed mo2 linux and used the recommended proton build 8-1, and it worked but the nvse it came with was old. I updated nvse to the current one and it would crash. I changed 8-1 to proton 9.0 beta and it ran it with no issues. I tried vortex again from a fresh install (both game and vortex). And proton 9.0 ran nvse for two seconds and then crashed. At least it wasn’t an error. Im going to keep messing with it. If nothing works (prob my fault if I can’t figure it out.) I can't seem to point the Vortex app to the BG3 pfx/drive_c file even though I have the BG3 folder in there. It doesn't seem to want to find it. How do I point it to that folder? I'm trying to do this via Steam approach at the end, and you mentioned pointing it towards that file, but I can't navigate to the hidden folders, and when I type in the address it doesnt find it
a viewer with steam version said install vortex inside the steam games prefix folder.
so I need to uninstall it currently, and then when I do the "run Vortex Mod Manager" step, I point it to the exe file for Vortex that is in the pfx for BG3? That's the plan? Does the Vortex File just sit inside the pfx, and then the BG3 game file sits inside the drive_c file inside that same pfx file when i'm doing the mod? Then i just transfer the BG3 folder back over to the common folder it came from?@@GrownUpGamingGUG
@@trentdpt I didn't understand what you said but yes, install vortex mod manager inside the prefix of steam version of bg3. Move the game folder to the drive_c, do your modding, move it back and play. I don't have the steam version of the game so I can't demonstrate it for you.
Sorry, i'm fairly new to Linux. But I run into the same problem when trying to install Vortex into the pfx. I can't select that folder for installation. Not sure, never played that game.
So for the steam version.
I’m modding fallout new vegas and it uses NVSE script extender. When I try to load it from the steam folder it throws me an error.
I tried changing the nvse_loader.exe to falloutnv.exe, it throws me an error exclaiming that the script doesn’t work on pirated copies.
I’m pretty stuck. Could you point me to the right direction? I was able to mod other games bc of your tutorials, but falloutnv script extender isn’t working.
I've not tried modding fallout new vegas but from what I've read nvse is supported on both versions of the game.
If nothing works (prob my fault if I can’t figure it out.) I’ll try using steam tinker. Thanks for the reply!
