The low-quality eyes are likely there for LOD. At a distance, the highly detailed eyes don't need to be rendered completely, so the mesh can just remove the high detail eyes. Since the low-quality texture eyes are there, the player can't tell that anything is amiss from a distance. Now, for why there's high quality eyes under a mask (so you can never see those eyes in the first place), it's likely the masked character is just a variant of another character without a mask, and that the mask is just an add-on mesh.
I also find it interesting that when the lighting on the characters seems to just randomly change, it is because the lighting needs to be different every time the cinematic cuts to a different shot of said character. Which makes sense because the same thing happens in film except obviously the light technicians need to physically move the positions of the lights in between certain shots.
worked on the game and that's the most important detail to notice for me. We put lot of efforts on the lighting of the characters during cinematic. Interesting that normal quarters are used in the future in which the game takes place because I was expecting that they would use a more advanced currency or a made up one altogether
The game takes place in 2038. I don't think 18 years is long enough to change currency given how long America has been using their current setup. If anything I'd expect them to just go digital which seems to be the norm with some exceptions like Connor's coin.
@@Oscar97o You're right. I was tired when I wrote that and for some reason was counting up from 2000 and not 2020. I'll go edit my comment. Thanks for noticing I messed up my math :)
Doing coin tricks alone doesn't mean the coin needs to be in current use. The country could very well be on a new currency where quarters are deemed worthless, so having one would just be novelty. :)
@@VickyViolet True, but Kara can rob a convenience store and the register has cash in it. She can use that cash to buy a room at a motel. And yet Connor tries to pay at the Eden Club with a palm scan. So it seems like currency in 2038 America is much like it is today; a mix of cash and digital.

I’d love like thorough versions of these videos with entire tours of each locations rather than just the highlights. These videos are so cool & leave me with so many questions
The most interesting thing to me at the point I'm leaving this comment, about a 3rd into the video, is that the sky dome looks to be a real life photograph. It's low res, but it's a totally real photograph of a grassy meadow.
So glad you did this video, this is one of my absolute favorite PS4 games. It's also pretty amazing timing to upload this video on Connor's "Birthday".
I always love when you make a new one of these. Whenever you say "now we'll look at something *really* cool" I always think "cooler than what you just shower us?" Also, isn't it Wilhelm?
I'm so glad this was finally made. I had a glitch when playing this that threw me out of control of Kara into Connor. And with it I was able to explore out of bounds up close. Great to see some more of the hidden stuff behind the scenes at last!
10:22 Those untextured Eyelids are not actually eyelids but tearlines. This technique is used to create more realism for eyes. Same technique is used for UE4 digital human showcase. Edit: And those Low poly eyes are there, because they scanned faces of real people so after scan you will end up with high res model with eyes connected to that model. But because of that, you can’t animate them properly. So they created new separated model of the eyes but didn’t retextured underneath the eyes. So those low res eyes is scan leftover.

Thank you for the close up of Connor and Hank's hug! Also super fascinating seeing the ways the devs optimized the environments. This series is great to watch as an aspiring developer. Love u shesez :D
I have a lot of respect for the animators for not animating Hank's suicide attempt or Todd catching Alice.
Todd literally ate her
I disrespect them for that
WAS WONDERING WHEN THIS WILL COME OUT
8:58 Hover to assert dominance. Very menacing
12:51 John Smith Graveyard, owned by John Smith for John Smith and all his reincarnations
Dude thank you so much for showing us hank and conners hug
I love this game so much, so its such a treat to see a boundary break episode on it. I can't believe the level of detail in this game 🤯
This is insane, i never thought i'd see a video like this for Detroit: Become Human.
Great job on this video!
I subscribed.
@@PromiseMeStars 2038 is in 18 years
@@Oscar97o You're right.
Ah, I do love Papa Hank and Boy Connor hugging. I just love the Father-Son vibe they have
Such a good game, even though it's dark as hell sometimes
just turn up the brightness?
@@theaether3124 no, I meant the story
Uh... You know what a joke is right?
@@theaether3124 I think they know what a good joke is

I’m glad we’re able to see things like this from this channel. I think that this is the true beauty of gaming
When I saw this channel a while ago the first thing I thought was: I wonder what Detroit become human would look like. I was so pumped to watch this episode, keep up the great work mate.
oh my gosh that zoomed in hug was so worth it
Detroit: become human
Haven’t heard of that name in a while
It's only been a month since it came to PC, right? That's not very long.
Connor(Brian Dechart) has a twitch stream he does with his wife Traci, (Amelia Rose-Blaire). Dechartgames
@@GabePuratekuta Some people (like me) haven't played DBH after the hype of the game died :,) So it's probably been like 2-3 years since some have played
Finally! I've been waiting since 2 years for you to do this masterpiece
12:56 wait WHAT! I DONT WANT TO KNOW WHEN I DIE!
4:05
Don't mind Kara, she is just a bit shy
2:32 this guy is taking the attack helicopter meme to a whole nother level..
Yes please! I've been wanting one of these since the game's release!
And now it's finally here. Thank you.
Game in concept is amazing
Visuals stunning
The branching syatem solid
Actual story is about as suble as someone hitting you with a sledgehammer with just as much tact and care.
i just wish the story was detective adventures with connor
that's all i wanted, a detective adventure where i play as robot
Each character has good stories, I just think the endings aren’t as good
David Cage games in a nutshell
Yeah, honestly, Kara and Markus have stories with very good starts but weak endings.
Connor's story is altogether pretty amazing though imo
Fun fact: David Cage once found a subtle, nuanced story with realistic dialogue in a well-paced, thought-provoking manner.
He drowned it in a storm drain and sent a recording to its family of its gruesome, lonely death.
I’d love like thorough versions of these videos with entire tours of each locations rather than just the highlights. These videos are so cool & leave me with so many questions

Thank you for showing us the close up of the hug qwq!!!
UA-cam be broken again? haven't gotten a single email notification all day with new uploads.

UA-cam actually removed the email notification feature without telling anyone!
@@liriosogno6762 And it did so only for uploads, channel updates? Because I still do get email notifications of comment replies.
Your vids were always awesome, but the quality has been so good. And the tease for the next episode got me hyped.
Even the game is about Mr. Krabs swearing (Hank Anderson).
This game is so detailed ! Creators did a great job
Programer and Designers who put a lot of work in these details you’re not supposed to see: Finally! (sniff) Our work is acknowledged!
The most interesting thing to me at the point I'm leaving this comment, about a 3rd into the video, is that the sky dome looks to be a real life photograph. It's low res, but it's a totally real photograph of a grassy meadow.
I like the new sexy backdrop
Jaaaassoooooonnnnnnn!
Have you seen my baby boi?
Love your work dude!
👍
Bro I really hope it's part 1 of the boundary break from this game because I'm sure there is so much more to see *.* anyway a big THANK YOU for the zooming in on the Hank and Connor hug, it made me so emotional *.*
The A-pose has more dominance than the T-pose. Change my mind.
An A pose would be your legs spread apart and your arms tucked on your sides. :3
11:32 *"ah yes, the bridge is made out of bridge"*
Great video! I'd love to see Death Stranding next
I love that game, the amount of details is impressive, and the zoom outs are beautiful 😍
We need an until dawn episode
yea I want to see a wandigo A posing xD
I love these videos so much. They make me love gaming and games even more - it's incredibly interesting to see this stuff.
"Detroit bridge"
You mean Ambassador bridge
It says BRIDGE because the bridge is privately owned so they might not have had licensing.
Clearly it was renamed to Bridge Bridge in the future
@@Feasco underrated comment
I think it says Ambassador Bridge at the beginning of that chapter.
@@Oscar97o Oh I think I actually remember that now
Honestly, I hear more people saying Detroit bridge because it's faster only really hear GPS say it followed by "Take the route to united states of American ambassador bridge" and stuff like that
After everything that happened earlier this year, hearing that big things are coming for boundary break is really comforting. Keep up the great work
It's the Wilhelm scream, not Wilheim.
Yeah. He was close.
*insert wilheim screm*
Despite the slight animation flaws in the last scene, seeing hank and connor hug with a zoomed in camera on both of them was so heartwarming. Shame you only see it so far away in the game.
10:50 ps3 startup sound
Damn, I was waiting for this one! This is gonna be great!
