Great tutorial I use that method for all of my jerk baits .When it’s winter time you’re fishing slow slow down some more. Don’t hook your lure hooks in the eyes of your rod.
I just purchased an MR17, PB Fatboy and PB Softdine. I went out and played with them to see how they reacted to different retrieves. I was surprised that the MR17 just goes straight if you don’t twitch it. The Paul Browns are erratic on a straight retrieve or any manner of twitching.
I'm in VA. So your vid "Mirrolure Tips and How to Catch..." Nov 2019, you said you like the 32XXLMR for Gator or big trout, then in this vid you like the MR17 and 18 and did not mention the 32. Also you used the loop knot in the 2019 vid but now the clinch. I'm confused. Thoughts? ( PS: Your vids are the best out there and both of you are so relaxed and fun to learn from!!!)
MR18 heavydine not just for winter... fish it when you’re casting into 6-10 feet of water. Cast the suspending ones when you’re fishing 3-6 feet deep I got my citation trout and my three best red drum this fall (26-30 inches) with that lure.
I was in the local tackle store the other day ,, I saw some of the MR17's ,, they were like 2 3/4 " long, that's was just a size guess ,, very light ,, was a very small bait ,, small hooks ,, my thoughts were it might be a hard bait to cast because of the weight and that a large trout would demolish those hooks ,, I didn't buy any of them ,, they were nice looking baits ,, kinda of a 3D look to them ,, should I give them a try ?
Do you recommend using lures when fishing saltwater pier fishing? Also how can I gauge the depth of or find strike zones in areas like that? I’m new to saltwater fishing but don’t have a boat and love lures. Been having a hard time catching anything lately.
I don't know as much as these guys, but I do well with Gotcha plugs off piers and jetties. Use 1 oz with a bigger rod, or 3/4 oz with an average sized rod. A 3 pack is only ten bucks, so you can't go wrong. Simple retrieve...cast it out and reel it in at different speeds. Mackerels and bluefish love it fast. Count the seconds the plug falls after hitting the water and then switch it up.
It isn’t exactly correct to call them just Paul Browns, since Paul and MirrOLure each carry multiple models. You’re using a Corky, often called the Original since it was Paul’s first model before selling that like and Fat Boys to MirrOLure
I’m from Texas and I personally bend my Paul browns downward. To me it helps with better movement with the lure. Great Video!!
I am new to this type of fishing
One of the best instructional videos

What’s the right size pole
7 ft. Medium with a Fast (or Moderate Fast) tip is the most common size and bend.
What brand of waders do use?

Also, you can point your rod down and twitch your wrist with short jerks to give those plugs a wicked action.
Thanks
Sounds like an Xrap by Rapala.
I can't find the Mardi Gras in the 27 or 37
I'm getting distracted by my kids lol... What reel is that?
Good video.... But why are you waist deep in water when you could go a foot backwards and be on the bank
That speckled she was holding was ridiculous.
What are your favorite colors?
