I'm going to try this later today, and wanted to pass it along from other people I've seen do it. Take the back hook off of a Catch 2000 or Yo-Zuri Twitchbait. Put an inline hook on the Catch 2000 in place of the front hook if you use one of them. Instead of the read hook, tie on an 18"-24" length of 20lb floro leader. Use a knot that will cinch down tight to the lure. on the end use a loop knot and tie on an AM Lures Curly Tail or Bass Assassin Curl Tail or something similar rigged weedless. If you aren't fishing an area with grass or shallow structure, uae a 1/16oz jighead. I also recommend that you use a rod spooled with floro or hybrid line and tie a knot that will cinch down tight to the front lure. If you use a loop knot or braid, you will get tangled up more often when casting. Work it fairly fast with pumping action, periodically pause for 2-3 seconds so the soft plastic sinks foot or two.
I have found the yo-zuri to have a louder rattle than the catch 2000. On really windy days the yo-Zuri has generally performed better. On calmer days or where the fish are highly pressured, the catch 2000 generally has performed better.
I don’t recall the specific size for this particular lure, however here is the process to follow to find the correct size. You can print out the PDF, check the treble size, and convert to the inline hook size. kayakfishingaddict.com/2020/11/change-your-treble-hooks-to-inline-single-hooks/
Were you using suspending lure because of the time of day (full sun) and low tide combination? Would you have used top water if you were fishing at low tide in early morning? Sorry for the newbie questions.
Great questions Wally. I typically use suspending lures due to the water depth. If the water is 1'-2' deep and top water conditions aren't present, then suspending lures help keep it off the bottom with a moderate retrieve...with a fast retrieve you can keep them just under the surface. I've been using more and more top water lures more recently depending on the conditions (see some of my latest videos). I think it's just "fishermen/women's choice" to tell you the truth. That said, top water tends to work very well when it's a little bit darker out and calmer water. Check out this video for a little more info on that (ua-cam.com/video/GhYVNp9BkE8/v-deo.html)..and this video where you'll see me switch to a topwater lure due to the conditions (ua-cam.com/video/u8k34BaKRdg/v-deo.html).
for anyone who doesn't know and what you saw him do with the big bull, Hold them reds by the back tail and move them in a figure 8 to revive them. It's fish cpr lol. Or back and forth with a hand on a tail and belly
Hey Ron this is scarlet Bredstrup I was just wondering if what time you want to catch up and go fishing and crabbing with me and dad if you want to text my dad and we will make a day. Love ur vid. Love and miss y’all. 😊😜

That's an interesting rig. How did it work out?
Great video!
Thanks for your kind words and the thumbs up Chet! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy some of my other videos too.
That looks like a nice area to fish. I just picked up one of these catch 2000's and plan to use it in an area with a few feet of water off the kayak
Please let us know what you catch! Tight lines.
Def a horse bro! Great RED! Nice vid
Thanks for subscribing and watching. It was a nice Red. I'm glad I was able to release him.
For the catch 2000, what rod power and action did you use or recommend?? Thank you!
I used a 7’ medium power fast action rod - kayakfishingaddict.com/product/kastking-royale-select-fishing-rods/
I know I'm a little late to this video , but great looking video bro..💯
Thanks! I like this one too. Be sure to check out some of my latest ones!

I too find the yo-zuri rattle louder. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

@@KayakFishingAddict thanks for the input...working on swapping all of them out soon! "tight lines"...fish on!
@@kenpitman2350 you're welcome. the fish will love it when you switch them out :)

Lol , "I caught 2reds" "Where did you go!"
Nice!
Anything mirrolure is pretty much a lure to keep
Yep!

Definitely. Will do!
Must be eating some kind of seafood? Lol. Nah I thought he had been eating some steak and mashed potatoes. Lol
definitely seafood :)
@KayakFishingAddict I'm personally a bigger fan of MirrOlure than Yo-Zuri
I like them both. To me though the Mirrolure's aren't built as well. If a toothy fish bites them they start to leak and take on water.
@@KayakFishingAddict Yo-Zuri doesn’t cast well with distance in my personal experience
