This is the best instructional video for fishing that I have seen, and I have seen a few hundred. The content is focused, the progression of topics is logical and the "take home" points are presented clearly and concisely. I appreciate your efforts and wish you the best.
I know MirrOLure has endorsed one video on using the Catch 5, but I sure would benefit from another that you produced and narrated. Also, I’ve just thrown a Dark and Stormy Mirrodine 27 and the rattles have already jammed up into interior body crevices. I’ve tapped it on hard surfaces trying to free them to no avail. It is my one and only criticism of Mirrodines and I have caught specks and reds on ones that have completely lost their rattle, so vibration and flash still make them effective. I’ve also drilled a top hole on a number of Mirrodine lures and dropped 2-3 tiny stainless BB’s in there and resealed the hole with silicone caulk drops. That seems to have worked and the metal beads add their own rattle and jar the plastic beads loose.
Great tips!! I tried the retrieves and they absolutely work. I’m not born knowing proper ways to retrieve these lures so watching these tips from a Pro really helps to get an idea. Thank you Sir.
Up here in NJ in the back bays the go to is the Series III Catch 5 thrown up current in a rip. No action imparted by angle, just keep in contact with it. It will crush stripers all night long.
If nothing's happening, before switching lures it's good to change the retrieve. Two years ago in Colombia my buddy was throwing against a line of bushes and getting 2-3 pound peacocks while I fired a half dozen long casts with a redhead Mirrodine XL parallel to a sandbar off to the side, twitch/pause and nothing. The guide motioned me to throw to the bushes next to where my buddy was getting fish so I burned the Mirrodine back to the boat. About half way in Bam, a 15 pounder. The guide put it on the boga and shrugged. I cast again to the same area and burned it back Bam, a 16. The next trip to Brazil we pulled to the bank in a heavy rainstorm and were just sitting there so I threw the same XL to the middle with a twitch/pause and first cast Bam, a 20 pounder peacock.
Great info and what I needed. Never had the confidence or understanding on how to use them, but will try more often, So thanks. Will be checking out the 1st vid on mirrolure as soon as I rewatch this one. .....
Especially after having watched the CA on the Fly episode where you were filming this, I felt the gnats that I saw buzzing around you! But that was great information...thanks for the continued help!
I'm a big fan of top water lures, mostly because of the top water blows up but also because of the style of retrieve. I'm intrigued by the catch 2000 and Paul Brown fat boy now, for perhaps the colder times of year when the top water isn't poppin. Thanks for the knowledge CA!
I have been in eally light and clear water in the coastal bays this Fall and Winter. Is using a 10 pound flouro leader okay for casting a Paul Brown? Thank for the videos.
Great tips as always. I do have a question for you. I am wanting to quit using treble hooks on my 17mr and replace with inline hooks as I normally catch and release. What would you recommend?
Good question, I’ve put single in-line hooks on a number of subsurface twitchbaits, because of safety to the fish and fouling with suspended grass. I haven’t noticed any decline in hookups with single hooks replacing trebles.
The Catch 2000 is a trout catching machine. I’ve been out with people throwing spoons, paddle tails, imitation shrimp, etc and the Catch 2000 would be smoking the trout while everybody else is wearing their arm out.
I use the tiny Spro swivel and split ring, loop knots degrade and will break unexpectedly, sometimes on a light cast. - have had it happen too many times. A uni to swivel retains its strength much better than a loop. The swivel/split ring will sometimes catch the belly hook because it hangs down on the pause but so does a loop knot to a lesser extent.
Good information but contrary to what he says in his introduction, I didn't see any fish being caught. In fact, I am having trouble finding any videos in which a mirrolure actually catches a fish unlike soft plastics like Berkley Gulp which catch a lot of fish. After years of bass fishing, I am starting to get into inshore saltwater fishing and I don't want to spend money on lures which only catch fishermen and not fish.

Great info
What great instructional content. Nice to see somebody here in FL. using casting gear. It's all I use.
Fantastic lesson CA. I just started using mirrodine’s again. Had great success. Not sure why I stopped using them!
In what situations would you recommend the Catch Jr. over the 2k?
You produce the best fishing videos I have seen . Hard to top a mirrolure for big trout . I have won numerous tournaments using them .
This is just great, the instruction on how to work the bait is so critical , you did an outstanding job!
Great INFO! I’ve learned a ton from you Capt CA. I’m glad a Local Company in the Tampa Bay Area supports you.
After I watch the video went to fish and caught a 17" pompano on the mirrodine Heavy lol
IT WORKS!!! Great job explaining the videos!

Thanks awesome video, just what I needed. Was lucky enough to walk through the factory in Largo last week. And needed some advice on the MR19.

Damn, dude. This is next level quality. I feel bad watching and not paying for this. Lol.
thank you sir awesome info, welcome to citrus county
What color on the 17MR would you use for general purpose (red, trout, snook) in the flats of the Indian River, 3-4ft clarity?
How about tying straight to your main line. Thanks
Thank you I love the info and how to videos!!!

You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
This edit is amazing
It’s edited by my son Cam that you met in Charleston, LJ
Good stuff CA great tips .
Hey Capt’n, what’s that color of the MirroDine MR 17 (Black/Gold) I need that for this stained water on the MS Gulf Coast!
Great video thank you for making these! No idea how anyone thumbs down lol
Thank you awesome info
Great vid! What reel (casting) and line are you using for those sub-walkers?
Thank you.
Mirrolures work great out here in the nature coast.
Nice camera work. I just got a canon camera to add bokeh to my videos. I've always used gopros.
Can’t wait to fish with you.
Great video thanks
you know when you are doing it right when a bird will swoop down and grab yore mirrolure .. they will hold it for a second or two then drop it ..

Did you use this retrieve and just vary the speed of twitches according to the mood and ‘tude of the fish response?
Would replacing the trebles with inline hooks affect the lure action with these mirrorlures? Thank you excellent video.
the weights of the trebles are specific to the lure size, so switching out hooks may impact the buoyancy of the lure
@@maxgrimard7359 I like that increased buoyancy of the in-lines in the
That see you next time
Damn you have a great voice 👌🏻
where are "da freesh ?
Does anyone use barrell or snap swivels anymore?? If not why??

Raimundo Gonzalez Go watch Flats Class TV at www.waypointtv.com, you’ll get tired of seeing how many fish we catch with these lures.
@@flatsclassyoutube5502Thanks. Will do
Only fishing vid with 0 fish caught.
You are a great instructor 🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
