As a 64 year old I have observed the younger generations verbal communication skills. I have been appalled and noticed especially amongst young women , their inability to barely string sentence’s together or respond easily to conversation or questions about topics or questions that are not even difficult to answer . Not even the ability to even understand a basic question. Inability to instigate a conversation and appalling listening skills. Women have been the ones mainly affected . This is the mental damage done by social media. Facts.

Don't think about socializing unless you are moderately wealthy with no debt. I used to run up my credit cards socializing, and having calls from debt collectors every hour was not fun. Would rather be lonely than go through that again.

The only social media I consume now is for my personal hobbies in private facebook groups so I can ask questions, offer advice to others and see what new releases are coming up. Often hidden releases not offered to the general public. That's it!

I blocked everyone I added on Instagram, how to know if people don't really like you or wishing on your downfall. 1. They watch your content, your videos, stories, reels, they see everything but don't like or comment. 2 they never message you or reach out to you to see if you are doing well even if you reached out to them a few times before. 3 if they leave you on read male or female doesn't matter.
When I ditched all my friends, I used to get the Death-knell response when I'd call, "I'll call you back" and that call never came. Or else, All my guy friends wanted me to download chatting apps, so they could "chat" me up, rather than phone me up and have a real conversation, and God Forbid, I say, "Let's grab a coffee??" And they would get indignant, like I had asked them for a kidney or some other major organ ... DOUCHEBAGS, every last one of them. Which is why, today, I have no friends, because I have "standards !!" Social Media, in the end, is the rotting of ones brain, that ends up with You - Hating Yourself !! That's what happened to me. So I dumped them all ...

It was actually Twitch that made me realize how much time i spent on youtube after work. I followed a guitar player in Canada on a half-hour stream. The next day, he did a nine-hour stream playing guitar and smoking bongs and i caught the last half hour. I unfollowed him. What kind of person can sit in a seat looking at a screen for nine hours if it's not their job to do so? At the time i was subbed to many channels, but their videos added up to eight hours. How much money would i have right now if i'd been doing an online job, rather than watching someone else doing their online job?

You can ask them how much money they made watching youtube videos today or watching Twitch streams. When the answer is zero, you could funnel that time and energy into something that actually benefits them. If i could afford to fly to Italy for a real pizza, i would.
Socializing went downhill. I like drinking at the bar, but those drinks are expensive. I like to consume a bit of cannabis, but no smoking allowed or ppl judging you. All ppl talk about is work. They're just trying to figure out are you rich or poor? Everyone stares at their phones, can't listen.
