    I uninstalled all social media apps and bought 4 bicycles and now spend about 10 hours a week cycling to work, riding trails in the forest and exploring wherever my bike can take me.
    I met a wonderful woman who also loves crazy cycling adventures and we share so much great time together doing the thing we love to do.
    My mental and physical health has improved exponentially. I lost 20kg. I was promoted at work and bought a house and am now able to be there physically, financially and emotionally for my teenage children.
    I still look at screens, that's almost unavailable, but the time is much reduced. Freeing my mind from the virus of social media has given me my life back.

      Time is the subscription fee. I just calculated it for myself. There are 1,440 minutes in one day, and I’ve spent 56 of those minutes on Facebook alone today. That’s 4% of my day spent on Facebook. It’s 12:49PM, and to take this a bit further, I figured I’ve spent 120.5 minutes(8% of my day) on my phone as a whole, although I’m not sure if I should count Spotify(music while driving). Roughly 8% of my day has been lost to social media. I could be practicing my photography with my new camera, sketching, reading, playing with my pets, gardening, ANYTHING- in the end, all we want is more time, and we are spending(wasting..?)it on social media.

      @shintyty 8 місяців тому +1

      @@pakshaal_jain Yes of course! I have tried many things, but it was alwasy difficult to improve past a certain point. I think removing what you don't need from your phone is good, but what I learned from a phychology video is that your environment always wins no matter your intentions over time. An analogy would be like even if you want to be warm and wear jackets, if you live in a freezer, you will eventually become cold. I find that it is similar with social media, and so for me the best thing to do was to set your environment the best you are set up for success. For example, when you don't need to use your phone, you can put it out of sight and reach, so you are no longer using will power to avoid it, or you can take the leap and sometimes go on with your day leaving your phone behind if you can do that. I found it the easiest way to become less addicted, and there are lots of things on your phone that you could transfer onto maybe like an tablet if you have one. But at first I felt so much fear going anywhere without my phone, but now I feel at peace and I don't think about my phone anymore which I love. Now I usually carry a notebook in my pocket most of the time instead most the times.
