I feel like we as humans were never meant to know and be able to hear everyone's opinions. So many people on social media seem to have a "main character" mentality and lack the introspection to see the flaws in their behaviour. Especially since the pandemic, people in general seem much more entitled to everything and are unable to take opposing opinions or criticism into consideration. This is made worse by the echo chamber that is created on their social media feed based on what they engage with.
Why is there not a mix of ages for this? It would have been interesting hearing the different perspectives. I personally first used social media when I was 14. This was back in 2008 and I used Bebo and Facebook and even dabbled in MySpace lol. I had used computers since I was a kid but social media was a new concept. Not like it is today where kids have grown up with it and it's just a normal part of day to day life. I miss how the internet used to be honestly. Social media has ruined everything for the worst, I truly believe this. Defending it because it's your line of work isn't really a solid argument.
These conversations are so myopic. Getting your news for purely from social media is not that big of a condemnation when the generations before us got their news exclusively from Rupert Murdock

same here! its really interesting being in college and meeting so many folks and they ask "whats your instagram?" "haha uhm well.." though occasionally it sparks great conversation with folks
Regarding to social media, I lean towards to the Anti Social Media side because recently last month I was kicked out of Facebook because I said something or did something wrong that got me kicked out and I tried to fix and resolve the problem but I wasn’t able to and I decided to take a break Facebook and not get back into it. But as for when I’ll get back into it, I honestly don’t know when but maybe when the new year 2025 arrives.
Schools, parents, and any child care person should know: no cell phone and no private access to computers and no private teacher nor education system interactions with your children.
Platforms like TikTok should be 18+ for countless reasons and platforms like OF could even be 21+. This would delay the whole OF star pipeline at least from 16-18 to like 19-21. Girls and boys are confronted way too early with the whole content business.

No one wants to be the "bad guy". But taking a step back and acknowledging that and striving to become better is what life is all about. Live your authentic life. And FYI whoever cares, yes i've been on both ends, receiving and delivering hate online, forgetting that these words on the screen in front of me were written by an actual human that I might actually get along with in person. I feel like none of us can complain about it because we're on it.
Getting off of social media has genuinely helped me mentally, I always suggest it to people
I can type without looking at my phone.
Sure bud, that's definitely cool
I also can type without looking at my phone. If you see this and I didn't make any spelling mistakes, I did it sucesfuly
Try walking while able to type on your phone. It's basically the same way when you use an Xbox controller.

Me too. I’m so shame 😭😭
“stop your doom scrolling” buddy i just opened the app and you’re my first suggestion😂
Oh they're lying! They definitely written a mean comment before especially if they started social media as kids. 🙄
Never expected to see Gavin on Julibee
Why is there not a mix of ages for this? It would have been interesting hearing the different perspectives.
I personally first used social media when I was 14. This was back in 2008 and I used Bebo and Facebook and even dabbled in MySpace lol. I had used computers since I was a kid but social media was a new concept. Not like it is today where kids have grown up with it and it's just a normal part of day to day life. I miss how the internet used to be honestly. Social media has ruined everything for the worst, I truly believe this. Defending it because it's your line of work isn't really a solid argument.
Quit instagram, Facebook, everything in like 2019? One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
If social media affects your mental health, maybe you shouldn’t have a phone or computer. Just a thought.
the 16 hours a day, starting at 9yo guy is so cooked
These conversations are so myopic. Getting your news for purely from social media is not that big of a condemnation when the generations before us got their news exclusively from Rupert Murdock
You're incredible, don't stop creating content!
5:00 she told her to go touch some grass 😭
Influencer culture can be addictive most of the time.
it took me a while to actually recognize that it was gavin i used to watch his and his "gf" content when they were kids
Social media is great you just have to be careful of what you watch. It’s also best to look at it as entertainment only. There should also be a balance and breaks from social media.
UA-cam counts as social media?!?!?! I’m COOKED 😮😂
Interested to watch this video as a gen z adult who deleted a majority of my social media accounts a while back!
ayeee me too
except the adult part, almost 17. life’s just a lot more pleasant without it all. it’s also indescribably awkward when people ask me about my socials too. lolll😭
same here! its really interesting being in college and meeting so many folks and they ask "whats your instagram?" "haha uhm well.." though occasionally it sparks great conversation with folks
@@rosie1881 sammmme, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, n Snapchat.
I remember Joshua during the pandemic in 2020. I never scrolled past his videos.
Regarding to social media,
I lean towards to the Anti Social Media side because recently last month I was kicked out of Facebook because I said something or did something wrong that got me kicked out and I tried to fix and resolve the problem but I wasn’t able to and I decided to take a break Facebook and not get back into it. But as for when I’ll get back into it, I honestly don’t know when but maybe when the new year 2025 arrives.
Schools, parents, and any child care person should know: no cell phone and no private access to computers and no private teacher nor education system interactions with your children.
My dream job is in an industry that requires a bit more screen time, but cutting from 13-14 hours down to 8 hours has still helped a lot
ok now I want to see what the friends and family say about their relationships with these kids and how they differ 👀
UA-cam is social media...yet here they are, using UA-cam even though they hate it, and we should take them seriously??? Pass.
Platforms like TikTok should be 18+ for countless reasons and platforms like OF could even be 21+.
This would delay the whole OF star pipeline at least from 16-18 to like 19-21. Girls and boys are confronted way too early with the whole content business.
For sure one of your top videos yet!
To everyone reading this, I sincerely pray for that whatever is causing you pain or stress will pass. May your negative thoughts, excessive worries and doubts disappear, replaced by clarity and understanding. May your life be filled with peace, tranquility and love🇧🇸🇧🇸💕💕
+40 minutes to my screentime
Gavin Magnus on a vid is crazzzyyy
cant believe none has written hate comments. proud of you all haha
Gavin Magnus what are you doing here
I want to reduce my screen time so bad but I live alone and far away from loved ones. It can get so lonely when I’m off my phone :((
Get a hobby, going outside for a hike, painting, working out, get a part time job that you like. Do something with your life that you will thank yourself for later.
Read books or anything that isn't on a screen. Do some physical activity.
So I’m Australian, and our federal government is introducing a 16 year requirement for social media platforms. I support it for both personal and generally, as our mental health crisis in teens is really bad with bullying becoming a major problem.
weird timing because i just deleted all of my social media
Nah everybody there is a liar.
Short form content is destroying my brain and i cant even turn off youtube shorts
21?? Girl…
Which girl are you referring to?
I’ve never understood why Jubilee and nectar cast such attractive people but the crew looks like who did it and why. I’ve just concluded that this is their way of gaining a following
Before watching this video I’d say I’m pro social media. I’ll update after I’m done.
I know, for a fact, someone has really hit on me just too scared to admit it
They got gavin magnus...the brainrot..

40 minute screentime all you need
What is Gavin Magnus doing here💀
Terrific episode ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They're all lying about the hate comment thing. Probably because of the lack of anonymity. Did you see how quick they were to raise their hand for the reverse? Everyone's a victim.
Have a great day everyone, continue doom-scrolling. :D
i feel like u projecting blud
@@PayuY-b6u I knew that someone was going to say he's projecting lmao.
But I kinda get where he's coming from. When asked "Have you ever received a hate comment/hate dm" everybody raised their hand with no hesitation.
But beforehand when asked have they ever sent hate to someone, most people were quiet.
Going from your kid years to a young adult in the internet era, to say "I've never said a negative comment to someone on the internet" just sounds like a flatout lie.
Where were these kids for the political episodes?? This was the most civil and eloquent middle ground I’ve ever watched! 😂
Tech addiction is tough because you have the cinema in your house now and in your hand.
I wonder how many people will be using social media in 10 years from now.
Wdym?
How about research from the sources: government, science research, actual person presenting it.
16 hours is egregious work
ts so corny how are people addicted to their phones
