Hawker Chan: World's Cheapest Michelin Star Meal Now in Manila Philippines. Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice in Singapore is recognized the world over as the cheapest Michelin Starred food stall in the world where a serving of the signature Soya Chicken Rice is only $2 Singaporean or $US 1.50. It is owned and run by Malaysian Chef Chan Hon Meng who has been preparing soy chicken dishes for more than 35 years and in 2016, it became one of the first two street food locations in the world to be awarded a star in the Michelin Guide.
Hawker Chan is the casual dining restaurant concept of Chef Chan which was started in Singapore but has now branched out to London, Melbourne, Taipei, Jakarta, Bangkok and now brought to Manila by Rikki Dee's Foodee Global Concepts Group who also hold the Philippine master franchise for one star michelin dimsum restaurant Tim Ho Wan and successfully setup a Celebrity Chef Todd English Food Hall.
Today is the grand opening of Hawker Chan at SM Mall of Asia on July 26, 2018. From all the dishes we tried, we would highly recommend the Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and the Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle, for sides the Seasonal Vegetables, Soy Beansprouts, Wanton Soup and for refreshments the Roselle Tea.
