I agree 100%.. although I considered it everybody music. I still bump all old school all the time when I drive. If I’m listening to it so is everybody else in a two block radius… 60 year old white dude here gettin lots of strange looks 🤣🤣🤣
While viewing UA-cam videos I have discovered that young people like yourself are fascinated with people who actually sing and not rap. Not sure why very few groups sing R&B today. This performance must be a treat for you. They can both dance and sing.
I grew up in that area the “ 70’s “ The Greatest Music Area “ Ever “ that was the best Romantic Music of all Times the words the smoothness, movement it was Fabulous in those Days natural born singers 💯❤️👏🏽✊🏽👍🏽🙏🏾
You see Ashley you are discovering true talent. People with true voices no auto tune or special effects on the recording the voices according to how it came out. I’m proud to be from that generation and would love if possible return to it.
Black people were mostly united back then but nowadays the powers that be , the record executives and radio stations prefer to promote negative stereotypes about black people unfortunately , rappers talking about B’s and H’s is all part of the system
Hi there my lady. I used to be an on air radio DJ back in the 70s in top 40 am band radio . This song was in the mid 70s to late 70s a radio friendly tune as was many other great R&B tunes with that great Motown vibe going. There are several groups that had that magic. Here's another one as a suggestion to give a listen to. Ray Parker Jr. And his first group called? Raydio the song ? Jack and Jill. But there was several groups . Earth Wind & Fire. The O'Jays? The Spinners? The Delegation ? That's a few from back in the seventies era . Hope you like those as well . Happy holidays and New Year. Take care and stay safe everyone
I love these old classics. Wish I was born in the 70s . Y'all had some great music. In today's music everyone sounds the same. I'm glad for you tube . It has shown me a brand new catalog of music other than current style .
I saw the Floaters along with the great Isley Brothers in the Summer of 1977 in Oakland at the Coliseum Arena. Such an amazing show. Do some Isley brothers, How about "That Lady" and "Hope You Feel Better" Ernie Isley on guitar and Ronnie on vocals equals amazing! Love your reactions and you are one beautiful lady.
Baby making music. All it took was the courage to ask her to slow drag (dance) and it was on. A few joints rolled in Eazy Widers, a blue light and some wine. Them 70's girls got silly after that wine.
Best music in the 70's but I am biased growing up and groovin to this as a kid. Was still figuring out my game back then. This was inspiration to treat the ladies with the class they deserved. Great reaction from a beautiful young woman.
LOL! I don't have to imagine being alive back then, I was a sophomore in high school while this, and many other classics, were being played. Yes, it was awesome. !!!! 😁
I just came across your channel and I'm loving the old school reactions, im an 80's baby but i grew up with this music because of my family (my mother was 1 of 9 children and she was the youngest) and there was plenty of cousins, aunts, and uncles to where old school soul/R&B was the main genre of music I heard in the house even when i didn't want to hear it. They would always tell me that i would appreciate it when I got older and went though love and heartbreak and they were righr damn near prophetic. 😂 Here's some songs i grew up with I think you would enjoy Smokey Robinson "Cruising" & "Tears of a clown" are good songs from him (but his whole catalog is crazy). Switch "There'll Never Be" Teddy Pendergrass ("Harold" from Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes 😂) "Come Go With Me" Bloodstone "Natural High" The O'Jays "Cry Togethet" The Delphonics "Didn't I Blow Your mind" Patti Labelle "Love, Need, and Want you" or "If Only You Knew" Edit: i didn't forget to hit the subscriber button either 👍🏾
I was 17 when this first came on the Radio I was so into this smooth Gentleman's Soul Vibe music. Still am 47 years later. 70s was where it was at baby..
When you get older you may, at some point, get dots moving around in your eyes. They are called floaters. I have two that won't go away. I named them Charles and Larry. Most people don't understand when I tell them 😂😂😂
Since you are doing old school songs. You really really really really have to react to one of my favorite songs. The Intruders "Cowboys to Girls". Great reaction to this song. I love this type of music. My dad played this for me growing up.
Loved your reaction…this was truly good soulful music. I hate that the young ppl today think that music have to be so degrading to our women, our culture etc. I grew up on Motown and soulful groups…no comparisons what we see today.
I remember going to the school dance, and slow dancing to this song. In 7th grade. I barely knew what it was to be interested in a girl. That was back a minute ago. And thanks for describing this song as "butter," that fits.
Back then music was real non auto tone special effects nothing fake. Voices were true talent and musicians were actually people playing instruments no music box just pure talent what now generation lacks of
Not sure if you ever watched 'Martin', but there's a character on the show named 'Cole''. He basically did the same thing in a episode trying to get at a female. "Cancer, and my name is Cole".

Well, this should make you smile; I wanted ALL those guys! 🙂 SEXY!! We all woke up pregnant the next day after hearing this for the first time on 'Top Of The Pops' here in Britain! 🙂This shot to No. 1 over here and was in the Top Twenty like forever! It was clearly an unusual Song, and I think ours was the only country where it made it to the top, and so we became very popular with The Floaters! 🙂 I have the Limited 12" version from 1977 which goes on forever - but it's awesome, and has a great beat to it. I also have the original LP this was taken from which was pretty good! Sadly, they were what is called a 'One Hit Wonder' over here; they never had another hit - but this was one of my favourite Hits from 1977! Played it to death... LOVED your facial expression as you listened! Thanks for sharing.
You see, this is back when men knew how to romance a woman and woman knew how to BE romanced. Today, they might call it simpin, but there's a difference. We call it having game.
Ashley let take it back to the 60's with the Dells Always together. The Isley brother this old heart of mine. The four tops sugar pie honey bunch marvin Gay and Tami Terrell aint no mountain high. Smokey Robinson ooh baby baby. For the 70 the main ingredient spinning around dedicated to you. Only for you thanks. Love 💘. Your videos.
A time when men were respected and were the leaders, as they should be. The men initiated, and the women responded. No big mouth, loose women and no weak beta men.
I truly believe this is why Gen x is really more balance than kids today. We grew up on love & fun music. You can play this and the whole house could listen to it with all its positivity. Now let your toddler grow up on listening to Sexy Red and drop them off at school and you would why the kid is calling the teacher & other student this and that. But I glad to see yall are getting tired of hearing all the negativity and you had to go back to the when music had love in it.
Love to see the youngings appreciate great soulful black music.....your generation needs this....sincerely...
I agree 100%.. although I considered it everybody music. I still bump all old school all the time when I drive. If I’m listening to it so is everybody else in a two block radius… 60 year old white dude here gettin lots of strange looks 🤣🤣🤣

I will take your word for it. However, even if labels decided to support R&B, they would have a difficult job finding great singers. @@Xfactor444-x4n
Has always been one 9f my favorite songs!❤❤❤❤❤

Ya just can’t beat the ‘70’s for the music that was produced back then. So many classics, so many.
“Charles… I didn’t know that was gonna come out of you.” Hahaha I’m done
Young lady your reaction to Charles's solo was priceless. So happy to see you enjoying the music I grew up with.

I love these old classics. Wish I was born in the 70s . Y'all had some great music. In today's music everyone sounds the same. I'm glad for you tube . It has shown me a brand new catalog of music other than current style .
One of my all time favorite songs I'm 60 years old wasn't nothing like hearing this at a basement party dancing with the lights out.
This was also strong hit at the roller rink back in the 80's

I remember how they let each member sing lead which was very unique and still is today.
This type of music brought "UNITY". Now, what specific group of people are truly in charge of the music industry? Thank them for todays music.
Unbridled joy sharing that with you for the first time. What a groove! One of your best yet 🤩
Sweet soul of the 1970s, This tune was #2 on the top100 count down in 1977!
You know, I am a Latino and in 1977 this song stuck in my head and I always remember the good times, I was 19 years old.
This is the best. Brings back a lot of fond memories.
I may not born in this generation of great music , but this is one of my favorite songs.

"Float On" was released June 22, 1977. This was the way the Floaters introduced themselves during their live performances.
[Intro: The Floaters]
Aquarius, Libra, Leo, Cancer
Ralph, Charles, Paul, Larry
[Verse 1: Ralph Mitchell]
Aquarius and my name is Ralph
Now I like a woman who loves her freedom
And I like a woman who can hold her own
And if you fit that description, baby, come with me
[Pre-Chorus: Ralph Mitchell]
Take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing love with me, I want you to
[Chorus: The Floaters and (Ralph Mitchell)]
Float, float on (come on, come on, come on)
Float on, float on
Float, float, float on
Float on, float on (float on)
[Verse 2: Charles Clark]
Libra and my name is Charles
Now I like a woman that's quiet
A woman who carries herself like Miss Universe
A woman who would take me in her arms
And she would say, Charles, yeah
And if you fit that description
This is for you especially
[Pre-Chorus: Charles Clark]
Mmm, take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing loving with me, I want you to
[Chorus: The Floaters]
Float, float on
Float on, float on
Float, float, float on
Float on, float on
[Verse 3: Paul Mitchell]
Leo and my name is Paul
You see I like all women of the world
You see to me all women are wild flowers
And if you understand what I'm sayin
I want you to
[Pre-Chorus: Paul Mitchell]
Mmm, take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing love with me, I want you to
[Chorus: The Floaters and (Paul Mitchell)]
Float, float on
Float on, float on
Float, float, float on (float with Paul, y'all)
Float on, float on
[Verse 4: Larry Cunningham]
Cancer and my name is Larry, huh
And I like a woman that loves everything and everybody
Because I love everybody and everything
And you know what, ladies, if you feel that this is you
Then this is what I want you to do
[Pre-Chorus: Larry Cunningham]
Ooh, yeah, take my hand
Let me take you to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing your love with Larry, listen
[Chorus: The Floaters]
Float, float on
Float on, float on
Float, float, float on
