Bro!!! You don't even know! Gotta respect the old skool to appreciate most of the new... All these cats struggled hard to pave the way for today's artist. This right here is a helluva gem. Glad you found this cut. Alotta the new stuff you hear now sample a good majority of the old skool. Now ya gotta dig deeper and pull up more of the old. Some Temps, Platters, Marvin, Commodores, Isley Brothers, Al Green and the list goes on.

I really appreciate what you said about how they struggled to pave the way. That is so true, the record business ripped these people off so badly. I’ve seen a lot of artists in those DJ Cassidy mixes. Not sure if you’ve seen those videos, it’s really cool to see how they all still look so good. Gladys knight has inspired me to get a facelift, I mean she must have had one because she looks better now than in the 70s and she must be close to Eighty. Not sure. But omg she’s stunning!

@@itssewxtra1713 I have absolutely watched quite a few of Cassidys pass the mic videos. It truly is amazing to see how well aged alot of the old schoolers look. Alot of nostalgia in those videos, alotta faces people forgot were out there that helped set the tone for today's artist to even be noticed.

@@kevinperkins2438 omg I agree about how good everyone looks now! I could go on and on, but what stands out the most is Gladys Knight. Like whaaaattt? Did you see the Mother’s Day edition? She is absolutely stunning! But also see how much they all get into it when they do there hits. I about cried when I saw Bobby Brown, knowing his entire family is dead. With music, I feel like I know them because they are always there for me you know?.anyway thanks for your input.

@@itssewxtra1713 no i didn't catch the mothers day edition. But yea I've always had a strong fondness for music. Not just R&B. But all genres. I grew up listening to artists such as Al Green to artists such as Stevie Nick's and even CCR. Def if it wasn't for artist like this, who knows how many of today's artist would have made the cut. Though some of today's artist are kind of questionable. 😆

Back in the 70s astrology was big-it wasn't uncommon for an opening line in a bar for someone to say "What's Your sign?" (Zodiac). You had to live through the 70s to understand.

Wearing our Calvin Klein,Sassoon Jordache,Sergio Valenti jeans. In the summer we'd wear zodiac t-shirts rocking our Daisy Duke shorts. Walking around and chilling at Menard Park of of Galveston Texas's beach seawall . The music blasting everywhere was : Parliament "Turn This Mutha Out ,Bootsy's Wind me Up, I'd Rather be with You, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly's Joy and Pain, Before I Let Go, Isley's Brother's Summer Breeze. They said it's their music too because they heard it every day playing in our house, car & at our friend's homes. "Sagittarius, and my sign has too many syllables for this song"
Eh man. Picture this: some little only child 9 year old white boy in '79, in the middle of OH playing with his Star wars toys and playing his records and singing Every-Damn-Syllable-to the T of this 45 over and over...even the B side.
I had stacks. I used to use my paper route money to buy music anywhere i could get records.
I got Float On the same day i got the "45 of the Theme to S.W.A.T. and Black Moses

Hi, Satori! Back in the day, when you were onstage, you had to have the total package! Clothes, voices, and moves! I don't know why this video was cut the way it was, but on the studio version, they talk some more after that last transition.

Satori, you mentioned recently in a post you made, about not wanting to do Old School music anymore, that us older folk are still making comments on videos you did a year ago, because maybe we're too old to understand. Actually, some of these videos I'm just seeing, so just ignore, if you see other comments months after the video! Thanks.

this song is a strong product of the times! you couldn’t throw a stone and not hit somebody talking about their sign or asking somebody about theirs. it was so popular that they did a parody on sesame street. i remember gordon, luis, david and bob dressed up in white singing and dancing like the floaters. funny as hell! 😆

Your reaction is giving me everything. Back in the day "What's your sign girl?" was the Smooth Mac opening line. Dudes were smooth. Girls weren't interested in a guy with a watery rap. He had to be confident and believable.
Listen to the Dramatics Stars in Your Eyes. No one has reacted to it yet.
