BanditIncorporated The thing is he kind of already did that when he made the Tommy Wiseau show sketch after JohnFromTheRoomMovie.com threatened for copyright violation to which Doug took his NC review of The Room off the site.
"I am pro-freedom." - Tommy Wiseau, 2016 "Yes, I have accent, so what? So be it. Next question." - Tommy Wiseau, 2016 "We changed the crew four times. Not three times, not two times, four times." - Tommy Wiseau, 2016 "It's different cookie cutters from Hollywood, that's The Room." - Tommy Wiseau, 2016 Truly, a visionary of our time.
Doug: Tommy, you agreed to the interview, then you just claimed copyright infringement, and now you just lifted the strike? I mean, WTF? Tommy: Haha What a funny story Doug.
After watching tommy "play" video games on the machinima channel I honestly don't believe he could navigate youtube well enough to put strikes on videos. I'm not saying he wouldn't do it but he at least had to have someone help him.
Tommy is an enigma. I am convinced that he is Count Dracula in modern day which is why he doesn't say where he is from, why his hair is like it is, and why he always wears sunglasses in public. Gregg Sestero who played Mark in The Room even said that when he first met Tommy he thought he might be a vampire.
"Hey tommy whats ur favorait color" "Well you know ithink its important to see the world for what it is and i think if people tried more it would be cool. But you know the sky is blue. Anyway nxt question" And thats what i think would happen if i asked his fav color.
Say what ya want about Tommy, but he's crazy passionate about his movies. At the end of the day, he wants what's good, and that's better than a lot of people.. But ah well ^^
Xanatos People are enjoying his movie.. perhaps not the way intended, but that's alright lol I'm glad I saw the Room. Besides, he's not exactly walking around doing lots of evil things. However, I think it would be great if someone talked with him as a friend and pointed out some stuff he could change. But I think all people need that, so he's not too different from other people when it comes to big picture stuff. There's no need to judge him too hard, because I'd rather spend that energy on unfair politics, foreign or local, for example. Or something serious like that at least. But some like to spend time dissing entertainers they don't like.. Well, that's life I guess, and artists are public people of course, but I'm just never gonna understand people who hate on harmless entertainment too much.
He is truly insane. Every time Doug tried to get answers for all the wacky things that made no sense about Tommy and the movie, he just went off into his own world and rambled some nonsense about "you see, people don't understand..." that's just it, Tommy, we don't understand. At all. That's why we're all dying to know what the hell is going on in your head, but of course he never gives any straightforward answers. This man is honestly something else in the world of movie fame.
Absolutely not trying to sound condescending or trying to be mean, I genuinely feel sorry for him. I can only imagine how hard it must be to really invest yourself in something, to create something that obviously is very personal and close to your heart and then it becomes a legendary laughing stock. He seems to have created a career around turning these lemons into lemonade, but I can't shake the feeling that he's hurting a little on the inside.
I mean does the guy even try to compare his work with others just so he can see whats good and bad compared to them? I mean his acting is just... i cant even describe it but its terrible yet its funny the way he execute his lines.
I think at first it might've upset him, but to be honest, after much thought he came to the conclusion that theres a silver lining in every cloud and found a measure of positivity in it. After all, did he truley suffer from the ridicule? Hes something of a pop icon because of the film and hes still doing his thing
What was funny to me was how Tommy was pretty clearly lying in response to Doug's question about the spoons in the frame--he asked Greg Sestero (Mark in the Room) the same question, and Greg explained that they were stock photos and they just didn't have time to change them out. Tommy is so delusional, he thinks he can make some great metaphor out of things that were clearly just mistakes.
Why are you getting triggered over an issue that is about sppons? Insults and name calling won't change the facts that he did it for reasons of metaphor. You know, calling people names like "delusional" despite not knowing who they actually are behind the screen is pretty immature. Ill-informing yourself to the absurd claims of someone as a terrible basis JUST to judge someone as delusional actually reveals you delusional. I would advise you to keep to your lane. Go and pontificate about else. You are no expert on Tommy nor The Room. This is 2017 and we are not going to accept half-baked attempts to define and categorize Tommy Wiseau. Get a life.
"Some see this film as a dark comedy, some see it as a drama, some see it as an alibi..." Wow. That one cracked me up. Kudos for playing comments like that so straight.
Jutta Tommy says at 2:08 : "Well let me say..." and was translated to: "wallace et vous for rent try". Thank you so much for the idea of turning on the subtitles.
You have to love that despite being "out there", Tommy seems like a very genuine man with the best intentions. Especially at the end when he says that as long as you make people smile, you've done a great job. Say what you want about him... His optimism is actually really touching on an odd way.
i believe that this movie was made after a long life of deep depression and disconection, making this film the chance for him to get over his sadness, doing something about it, and live the life he always wanted, on and off screen, and yet at the same time reflect on his sad life . It ended up being a big mix of things that may or may have never happened, exaggerations, metafors, memories of things that he enjoyed experiencing or wishes he had experienced, all of this combined with his few ability and unique perspective on things
Bloody American. Just kidding. Seriously though, yeah he's hard to understand at some points, but if you have heard enough foreign and second language accents then it's not too bad.
I genuinely feel bad for tommy, like he really does put alot of work in his projects and really really wants to be the best he can be and everyone just takes the piss out of him.
Really, the best thing he can do now is to just roll with it and continue rolling with it. It's also a good thing that him and Sestero are collaborating again.
MrJustinArt I read it also. I'm even more convinced than ever that this guy is on the autism spectrum. I'm not saying that as a dumb insult either - I'm on it (yes, I'm freaking diagnosed) and wayyy too much looks familiar to me. The book was a mixture of hilarious and painfully depressing.
Daytime Sky He does come off as *very* socially impaired, yes. Being diagnosed with aspergers myself I recognize myself in few cases of his behavior (though not nearly as extreme). My reaction throughout the book varied between unabashed giggling and utter disbelief (like Philip Haldiman((Denny))'s age compared to the rest of the younger members of the cast, to name just one small instance). In the end though I just ended up feeling sorry for everyone involved, even Wiseau.
+MrJustinArt I think he's got some mental problems, if the supposed backstory in the book is true. He just never learned how to be social and now it's waaaaaay too late to get him out of his weird patterns and stuff.
It looks like Doug was trying to pretend to understand him and be professional in the beginning, but halfway just gave up. In all honesty, he did a pretty good job. I just would've sat there and thought "My god, I didn't understand a single word, how am I going to respond?".
My girlfriend ordered a hoodie from Tommy's site and he threw in a jacket, underwear, a mask, and a signed copy of the room on Blu-ray. Tommy is an utter Chad.
honestly, I am trying very hard to listen to Tommy, and I go back frequently to re-listen, cause I get so lost, I really want to listen to his answers and understand them, but I am so confused and honestly cannot understand him. I don't know if it's his accent, or the fact that it's over phone (actually I know that's a huge part of it for me), but he slurs so much, and I feel like he keeps changing what he's talking about constantly. I am so confused, I wish the captions were better and accurate.
+A Goth Named Wednessday It's because he's very obviously foreign, and despite all his time living in America, still hasn't learned the language. He'd be better off speaking in his own native tongue and participating in interviews that way, but he won't do any of that. Either he is more aware of his status than he lets on and wants to keep people in the dark about him to maintain interest via mystique, or he's hiding from someone or something.
Each question is an adventure... you start off from Doug's question and you're kinda listening trying to make out what he's saying and then it transforms into something completely different and you don't know where that juncture is it's amazing.
Actual questions to ask Tommy Wiseau: What fucking country are you from? What fucking planet are you from? Have you ever had positive feedback on this film from anyone remotely competent at writing/directing/acting? Was this movie made to fund your drug addiction? Was this movie made to fund the mafia? What makes you say that? Do you have some secrets? Why won't you tell me? How's your sex life?
096jjk About the positive feedback, I would say this : It was his first movie... And he never had training to do any films prior to doing it... If he learn fast, and do no repeat any errors he made in the room (and he made many), he could do a good film. It is a big if...
To answer your first question: As far as we know Tommy was borned in Poland(as Tomasz Wieczór, i think), and when he was about 17 he moved to France(and i think his current last name was inspired by some french word). Then he moved to Louisiana to live with his aunt.
Currently reading The Disaster Artist. I truly, _truly_ feel sorry for the people involved in the making of this movie. Major props to those who put up with Wiseau's abhorrent attitude.
@@TheSpaceJockey91 he did things any 46 year old first time director would mess up he made it really hot on set didn't buy water and got mad when someone messed up or looked bad
I needed this in my life. I didn't know it existed until 20 minutes ago, but I needed it in my life. Favorite moment: the OUT OF ****ING NOWHERE mention of "a traffic ticket", followed by Doug's reaction face just past the 9 minute mark. That was just... perfect. XD
Tommy is just a good man, and film maker; yes his films are bad! but everyone can make a bad film, and still make it boring as hell, watching his film there haven't been a moment when i haven't died in laughter, and many comedies fail to deliver this. and his sportsmanship in this video made him even better in my eyes. i respect this man :)
Are we sure Tommy isn't really an Elder God in human disguise? I could see Nyarlathotep or some kind of Lovecraftian monster speaking and acting like this. Just saying, something to consider.
Good god wow! Tommy is just one of life's biggest mysteries! He's like a parallel universe Van Gogh, if only I can see the world through Tommy's eyes! Just to try and understand this incredible wildman!
Favorite exchange: TW: "Do you know the expression 'plastic is cheaper than wood'?" NC: "I do now." The question regarding which part of America he's from was quite creative and made me laugh. Whatever else you can say about Tommy Wiseau -- and you can say a _lot_ -- he does seem to be super optimistic about everything considering how much shit he takes (deserved or undeserved). So, I gotta give him credit where it's due. That said (and so I suppose this counts as part of that "whatever else" I mentioned), I can't help noticing throughout this interview that he's constantly saying things like "I respect people and like people no matter what -- and that's why I'm talking to you" as if to say, "You hurt my feelings, but I'm going to be big about it and still talk to you as if you hadn't hurt my feelings -- but you did (just wanna make sure you know that)."
He's probably nervous about talking to Doug since he knows that Tommy's the one who took his review down so he's trying to overcompensate with all the freedom and we're good friends talk.
Ladies and gents, the Tommy Wiseau Drinking Game! Take a shot every time the following happens: Tommy Says "Move on, next question!" "You are the reporter." You know, it's hard to believe that Tommy had the NC review of The Room taken down for copyright infrigement, but to see him doing this, it shows he's learned his lesson. Not only that, but he's expressed support for Bobsheaux, who reviewed the first episode of The Neighbours. I personally think that when Tommy made that takedown, he genuinly had no idea about fair use or how it worked, but now that he's learned about it and how it's actually helping bring his work to attention, he's embraced it.
As much as I laugh at just how funny it is that Tommy just seems so naive and inept, I can't help but just find him incredibly inspiring the more I research of him.I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a more passionate person.
You can Laugh, cry, express yourself, please don't hurt each other. Beautiful Tommy
I thought this would be a skit, with Doug playing Tommy. But the real Tommy Wiseau turned out much, MUCH weirder XD

+One3673241 Nobody knows his nationality. He could be from Greenland for all we know.
+TheUnbeholden , I think he's Polish
lol
I was trying to
Maybe he's from OHAIo.
Nice.
"Tommy has surprisingly never taught English 101" That blew my mind! XD
5:36 he actually does that laugh
The Man. The Myth. The Legend, Tommy Wiseau.
What the fuck did Tommy Wiseau say from 0:00 to 15:21?
This aired 5 years ago on my birthday when I was 17.
Tommy Wiseau was born on Planet Walken.
Filip Önell But...Walken is awesome.
What do you mean? (what is Planet Walken?)
רוני איתן
It's a sister planet to Planet Outlandish.
רוני איתן christopher walken
+Filip Önell You know what they call a side walk? Christopher Walken's profile picture
OH
move on next question
Mister Wiseau is a very interesting man.
Doug is trying so hard not to burst into a massive laughter! XD
I did not hit her.
bournetopwn i did not. Oh hi mark.
bournetopwn I Did Noooooot!
No it's not true, don't even ask!
why Lisa why?
Hey doggy
"I submitted The Room to Academy Awards." AND IT WAS TOTALLY SNUBBED! It should've won an Oscar - for Best Awesomely Bizarre Cinematic Experience.
The Room played in my theater, but I only learned about it after it stopped playing.
Is Tommy a shit actor, or the greatest performance artist of this generation?
It's like if Borat was a director instead.
+Crabby Dragoon If borat was a drummer for a Christian metal band.
Detective Derpy Who did directing as a side job on a budget of LITERALLY $5.
Crabby Dragoon with actors from Walmart
Detective Derpy Did you mean: with actors from the Dollar Store/Poundland?
You can't make that stuff up. The fact that this interview exists is miraculous.
You could have done us all a favour and added subtitles
I don't think he could have done that even if he wanted to
+ty2005_92 The titles exist in Russian.
Doug's face at 9:09--LMFAO!
My exact reaction to "you don't get a traffic ticket, whatever, that's why it's called 'The Room'!"
I was expecting to laugh
I'm left just ...confused...
JDBW That's a common feeling when one deals with Tommy Wiseau.
And THAT'S what I like about Doug's videos - they are unpredictable.
Each question is an adventure... you start off from Doug's question and you're kinda listening trying to make out what he's saying and then it transforms into something completely different and you don't know where that juncture is it's amazing.
Actual questions to ask Tommy Wiseau:
What fucking country are you from?
What fucking planet are you from?
Have you ever had positive feedback on this film from anyone remotely competent at writing/directing/acting?
Was this movie made to fund your drug addiction?
Was this movie made to fund the mafia?
What makes you say that?
Do you have some secrets?
Why won't you tell me?
How's your sex life?
Have you torn anyone apart?
Did you hit her?
Is it bullshit?
Do you definitely have breast cancer?
096jjk About the positive feedback, I would say this : It was his first movie... And he never had training to do any films prior to doing it... If he learn fast, and do no repeat any errors he made in the room (and he made many), he could do a good film.
It is a big if...
To answer your first question: As far as we know Tommy was borned in Poland(as Tomasz Wieczór, i think), and when he was about 17 he moved to France(and i think his current last name was inspired by some french word). Then he moved to Louisiana to live with his aunt.
I CANT BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY GOT TOMMY ON HERE
Can that man even craft a cohesive sentence, let alone response to a question?
Maxislithium Nope. Move aawnn, nesckst queshuen.
Maxislithium Aj tink tats wat emarica is alll abaut
Currently reading The Disaster Artist. I truly, _truly_ feel sorry for the people involved in the making of this movie. Major props to those who put up with Wiseau's abhorrent attitude.
Never read it. What did he do?
@@TheSpaceJockey91 he did things any 46 year old first time director would mess up he made it really hot on set didn't buy water and got mad when someone messed up or looked bad
@@lightsnakeus1648 That sounds like a horrible experience. Didn't he get sued?
@@TheSpaceJockey91 no I don't remember anything about it in the book but it could be there I read it awhile ago
@@lightsnakeus1648 I would sue his ugly Goblin face off if i were them.
Daniel Sutherland Wiseau is Cthulhu confirmed
Zane Rahabi He's Raiden
Daniel Sutherland Oh, Fuck no.
Not your style of going in cognito, Nyarlathotep?
Daniel Sutherland This guy could weird out even a Shoggoth.
"Let me just say I'm not a fan of the Rifftrax" Wow 5 years later and Tommy hasn't changed
"I submitted The Room to the Academy Awards"
Doug's reaction is priceless!
ha ha ha, what a story Doug
Good god wow! Tommy is just one of life's biggest mysteries! He's like a parallel universe Van Gogh, if only I can see the world through Tommy's eyes! Just to try and understand this incredible wildman!
the amount of sarcasm from doug is so great
Wow, I'm surprised he agreed to an interview.
(I still didn't really understand anything he said.)
TheomanZero anyone have a wiseau to english dictionary?
Doug is the ninja master of back-handed compliments. Teach me, O' Great One!!!
All jokes aside you can tell Doug is a big fan if Tommy's. And it's cool to see someone at awe with Tommy's presence
Favorite exchange:
TW: "Do you know the expression 'plastic is cheaper than wood'?"
NC: "I do now."
The question regarding which part of America he's from was quite creative and made me laugh.
Doug's spontaneity was the likes of Carson or Letterman on that one.
Doug is constantly jabbing Tommy. Can't really blame Tommy for not disliking him.
"move on next question"
"I'm pro freedom"
Controversial view standpoint but i admire him for saying it
"You can ask whatever you want, dawg"
Tommy Wiseau keeping it gangsta
Great interview Doug Walker, I loved the way you walked a fine line between humor and respect.
11:10 i think Doug's expression there summarises this whole interview
I love how this guy is so delusional about how great he is.
paul duncan Well he did make the best movie ever.
True DAT I heard it won every academy award category including best forgien flim
paul duncan Honestly, I think he is great. Just not for the reason he may think...he is unique.
paul duncan he's pretending, its a character
Art Vandelay he's for real.
I could tell Doug wanted to burst out into laughter.
I need subtitles for this video......
11:11 holy shit Doug's reaction haha that's the most natural reaction i have ever seen in my life, i'm dying haha
Ladies and gents, the Tommy Wiseau Drinking Game! Take a shot every time the following happens:
Tommy Says
"Move on, next question!"
"You are the reporter."
Anything including Tommy's inability to speak a proper English sentence.
Tommy Does
Doesn't acknowledge Doug's not-so-subtle digs
Explains something in a way that makes NO sense to any normal human
References America, being American, or Freedom

+Xehanort10 Tommy is Belgian.
This sounds even deadlier than the Stephen King drinking game.
Doug keeping his serious is admirable
You know, it's hard to believe that Tommy had the NC review of The Room taken down for copyright infrigement, but to see him doing this, it shows he's learned his lesson.
Doug's facial expressions are the best part of this interview.
As much as I laugh at just how funny it is that Tommy just seems so naive and inept, I can't help but just find him incredibly inspiring the more I research of him.I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a more passionate person.
