Whitechapel "Doom Woods" from "The Valley".
Guitarist Alex Wade comments: "We are excited to release the animated video for 'Doom Woods' off our 2019 release 'The Valley'. While we have some time off from touring, we thought it would be a great time to give a visual representation to the closing track from the album. We were blown away with what the design team was able to create and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It really gives the track a new depth."
Video production by Crystal Spotlight.

yes! i was thinking the same
I'd go for the stairs scene
I am sad, I can only like this once
@@FuCkInGWhItEcHaPeL I use Arch btw
I always thought this was a weird way to close the album. After The Other Side it seemed weird to end on such a dark note. The acoustic guitar at the end gave me a sense of completion, but it felt like something was left behind. Now after hearing Kin, I understand completely. You don’t go through some shit like Phil went through and walk away perfectly fine once it’s over. It has ripples that affect you even after the worst has transpired. Thus, even though Phil left The Valley, “The Devil is alive.” In I Will Find You, when Phil says “The Devil is dead,” he’s talking about thinking you’re over something just because some time has passed, but in reality it’s still out there, and it will find you eventually.
That's a concept that has hit me very hard in these last few months.
Holy fucking shit
"Doom Woods"
In the night they call my name
The moon is my light to a greater side of hell
But I am already there
Collecting my childhood nightmares
She's gone and I want to disappear, disappear
Take me away into the trees
I dread the sun to rise
Bury me so the night will never end
They say don't walk to the darker side
But where the light shines, the devil is alive
I've seen hell through a child's eyes
And I know in time, the devil I will find
The devil I will find
In time, I will escape
But in this place my soul remains encased
The leaves have swallowed the sun
My heart has reached absolute zero
I have no one left
Even my shadow has died on me
She's gone and I want to disappear, disappear
Take me away into the trees
I dread the sun to rise
Bury me so the night will never end
Tear him from his mother's hands
Turn this young boy to a man
Don't you cry for him now
Tear him from his mother's hands
Turn this young boy to a man
Now his destiny's found
Don't walk to the darker side
But where the light shines, the devil is alive
I've seen hell through a child's eyes
And I know in time, the devil I will find
The devil I will find
The devil is alive
The devil is alive
The devil is alive
The devil is alive
The devil is alive
The devil is alive
Doing the Lord's work 🤘🏼
Wow wow man
I prefer to love the father, jesus, and holy ghost found in king James and message bibles,
Wooooow 😢🖤
Douglas Steele what does this have to do with the song...
I love this song for its eerie atmosphere. Also the line "I've seen hell through a child's eyes" just really gets me
Same, hits close!
WhiteChapel has such a clean, crisp sound.
Like McDonald's sprite.
The album is superbly mixed and produced. Curious where it was recorded.
Maybe because the bass player is crisp.
@@TheScaredofsilence Here's an excerpt from the bio: To track this powerful collection, the band once again teamed up with producer Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder) whose commitment to creating the best possible record reflects that of the musicians involved. "Mark has done the last three records so we are all aware of each other's work ethic from the start. I was pressed for time on lyrics but I always like to write when I'm pressured. Makes it easier for me somehow," Bozeman admits. Recorded in the home studios of Wade and Householder, with drums lain down at Warner Brothers Studio in Nashville, TN, the process was very comfortable for all concerned, taking longer than usual due to the band interrupting sessions to tour, but not to their detriment. "The sessions were fun to me overall but very much down to business," Wade says. "Not really much partying going on during tracking, it seemed everyone was there to do their job, and because they were pretty spaced out it did not seem like we were too rushed or stressed."
@@metalbladerecords mixing better then the song
"The Devil is alive" and it's a giant bear with an ax, badass.
Phil once said that the bear represents his step-dad and how he just entered his life and basically caused his mom's death. this music video is very symbolic.
At how many minutes and seconds does the bear appear,I was reading comments

Douglas Steele wtf just watch the video one more time?!
Looks like an indie game trailer. I like it.
Doom Woods VR when?
came here to comment this.. would love to see this in VR haha
Blair witch game
I thought the same thing.
I was thinking that too lol. Great minds think alike
More like flying an quadcopter fpv style
Easily one of the most beautiful music videos of 2020.
I gotta say. Doom Woods is such a refreshing track on The Valley, and this video is one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time. Fits so well with the narrative in the song and the animation is TOP NOTCH
If this is all digital A++, if this is recorded A++.
I know the guy who created this - it's all digital
@@youareannoyinmenow A++ then
@@youareannoyinmenow I suspected so; at 1:19 it looks like the camera is cliping into the "player" model
Kinda gave me outlast 2 vibes a lil
I love how this is probably one of the last looks we will get at "the valley" forest aesthetic before they move on to the visiual theme or story for the next album. This final frames of sunlight really feel like the journey has come to a happy conclusion from a story that started over a year ago with the albums release🤘👍
Trust me my guy, you‘re gonna enjoy what they have in store for us next album. I don‘t have a lot of details to share, but I know they‘re possibly doing an original acoustic and there‘s going to be a lot more cleans and melodic portions. I‘m super hyped
I was thinking the same thing
Philip Nelson I know Alex, and we‘ve talked a little bit about it. They‘re working on something acoustic so I‘m assuming it‘s an original song and him and Phil both want to do more melody and clean stuff. That‘s all I know right now
@@Corvum_Deus Then Whitechapel is dead... :(
@@s_t_s4846 open your mind to different avenues man. If you really don't like that stuff then that's your vibe, but don't discredit a band for trying different stuff. Writing the same song/album style for over a decade gets old/boring as a musician, I know this from experience. I'll always be a metalhead for the rest of my life, always... But it's really good to listen to a lot of different stuff. Usually where the best music comes from is an amalgamation of various influences. Cheers.
I live in North Georgia in the sticks. Looks like my backyard. Hell yeah.
Reminds me of my home in Cohutta in Whitfield county
Tennessee my friend
They’re from Knoxville is it might be.
I love going up to Tennessee camping on the weekends. Nothing like it.
Lucky... I'm in the swampland of Southern Georgia.
3:36 one of my favorite riffs and moments on the album. Literally impossible not to headbang
The entire buildup to it from 3:21 on is so perfect too. Love this band.
It's the outro to this song that takes The Valley from great to legendary
Let's go 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😊
I absolutely love the woodland imagery/style/look of the band rn🤘🏻
Y’all should do more visuals for your other songs. This was really captivating to watch.
I too, watched this while I was high.
This is such a beautiful video. Seriously these animations are top notch
One of my Favorite Whitechapel Songs. Straight Masterpiece
I wouldn't say the best but its up there i have this song as my ringtone since it came out
Nur der ksc
@@bozin_ru4302 I have too) My wife is always afraid of this ringtone
It's my favorite Whitechapel song
I agree. Heard this tune on my Apple Music channel. So I started listening to their albums this is the only song that really stuck for me
Incredible music video! It has lots of references to some songs on the album if not all of them and here's what I found (my own theories):
I saw When A Demon Defiles A Witch, We Are One, and Black Bear at 4:30 (Black Bear is also at 1:58)
Third Depth (From the concept of the album, it's about the basement of the house Phil lived in.) (1:46)
Hickory Creek: 1:55 The woman entity could represent Phil's mother fading away.
We Are One? (2:00) [The hands?] also at 2:18 (the demons? as in the song "...But we all still look the same"):
it's about the personality disorder his mother suffered.
Brimstone (2:39) : from the bible, people burning like that in hell, it could also represent Forgiveness is Weakness?
The Other Side (4:06)
Lovelace (1:08): Phil's call for help and getting lost. We could also add 0:57.
Funny. I don't pay any attention to words, lyrics, ever.
Damn you found Waldo an all hidden treasures
Now I knew this video would be great, but I did not expect this! It really compliments the song in every way. Let's go Whitechapel!
Imagine this on VR
Exactly, haha.
for real! this would be even sicker!
I'd definitely shit my pants.
How much a vr chip in your brain?
just perfect!
Favorite song on the album, hopefully this gives it enough attention that they’ll start adding it to the setlist when touring is a thing again
So in 2025?
Sea of trees is amazing too. Did some looking up and it’s a pretty dark place.
i can say i was like 100 on this comment
So, they're playing it finally now!
saw them in october and they played it :)
For those who really know pain and that emptiness that doesnt go away that emptiness once was a human being that is never ever coming back
Idk how this album has been received, but it's definitely one of my favorites. Such a great sound and very cool visuals.
These guys are amazing!! And from my home state of Tennessee!! Can't say that very often!!
See so many references here. The black bear third depth and more!!
To previous songs, right?
I love this music video great atmosphere
The video is great, loved every minute of it. Can't wait to see more.
This is freaking amazing! Love the concept and the imagery. Well done!
This is absolutely amazing i love whitechapel so much ❤🤟
This album is a Fuckin masterpiece hands down. Emotional roller coaster.
100% especially knowing the backstory
Weak ass cry baby metalcore. Shits lame af.
@@chuckieballard5771 it’s called being human and living through trauma . If you knew Phil’s back story you probably wouldn’t be lame yourself 😏
Nobody mentioned any trauma before this album and they've been making music for al.ost 20 years....its called your fake and so it whitechapel. Real metal exists. Fuck this shit. Might as well go listen to Hawthorne heights....real trauma🤣🤣🤣🤣.....so stupid
This music well deserve a video and it's a great one, take all the symbol you use in the album in one video it s truly something
Best song on the album
Whitechapel is one of the few reasons I still listen to metal music. Awesome as always!
felt like hell of a rollercoaster ride .... literally
love this band
Can this just be like a short video game with this song repeating in the background? I'd play THE HELL out of this!
Reminds me of the camera work from Evil Dead films!!.
Dem bois showing the new generation why they're still number one. Because every song is filled with that deep South heat. 🤘😎🤘
I'm sold.. That jump off was proper.
Anyone else wanna talk about that sick acoustic outro?! Absolutely beautiful!
And the way the video changes to light when it plays as well...perfect 💜
The instrumentals are often the best parts of albums, agreed! 💙
Gave me controtionist vibes
No
seriously gave me happy chills all over. the sounds and video to it.and non metal heads would never know we absolutly love calm instrumental music like that because theyre narrow minded and think were angry violant douchebags that have our music tastes narrowed down to nothing but super heavy aggressive metal like we hate the world and want everyone to rot in pools of shit and piss 😂😂😂🤦♂️
This hits so close to home. The intensity is 100 fold because this video literally steals scenes directly from my worst nightmares. The silhouettes of the "devil" I know all too well.. This is the closest representation I could ever compare to what its like to live in hell as a child. Even through my now adult eyes it still looks the same as it did back then... Thank you Phil, everyone else in the band, and anyone who brought this vision to life.. Thank you for giving me something to relate to ✊
The Valley and Kin have some of the best lyrics I've ever read for metal songs. Both albums are masterpieces.
First time I heard Whitechapel live I wasn't a fan. Heard a few songs, thought they're cool but came for headliners. This was during Mark of the Blade tour. Now I hope I get to see them headlining EU tour.
Excellent video !
1:26 this part connected to the Video to show „The Valley“ logo gives me big chills.
Holy fuck this was amazing. It's almost as if his growls got even better, and I didn't think that was possible. Instrumentals are phenomenal as well! Been a fan for almost 15 years and you guys just keep getting better.
This in VR is something I would pay for
I don't know how they do it they just keep getting better
This is just amazing. It spread perfectly the atmosphere of the album which is really really beautiful.
Masterpiece
brutal...heavy...yet classy 👊🤘
Cant wait to see them again
Absolute perfection, the melodic elements are just superb and the atmosphere holds so much emotional intensity it's masterpiece
I played this for my dog and he did not understand because he is a dog and cannot comprehend awesome music.
@@aidanrobles7621 right
Get a better dog😂
All my dog wants to do is take walks and sniff everything while i jam the good stuff to myself or sometimes for everyone in my path with a loud speaker
Now you gotta play knocked loose or spite for your dog.
I love metal videos that don’t needlessly cut to clips of the band playing somewhere. I’d rather it be like a soundtrack to the video. So, this video is fucking great. The imagery is gorgeous and isn’t interrupted!
That ending outro just pulls my heartstrings everytime
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Phil's hell was no joke. I can see it clearly in this album and several songs in this album illustrate it completely.
Agreed. And he was living in it for a long time. Look up pictures of him during “this is exile” he practically starved himself he was so depressed. That’s why I’m very proud of how he looks today, a lot healthier. You can tell he grew past that trauma.
Yeah and iam glad he didn't turn into a serial killer after all this... LOL
He turn his trauma into art, A masterpiece...
iam so proud of phil...
What a man he is...
And iam sorry for my english

Great artwork,my favourite song on the album!
Greetings from Serbia! 🌹
Very excited clip. 🤘🤘🤘
The best song on the CD just got the best metal video of the year.
Loving this video. The dark, artistic approach suits the song and lyrics perfectly. Eerie and beautiful. One of my ultimate faves from The Valley.
This is honestly the best song for explaining what it's like to be a windego.
This. Only this song. Soo underrated...
Hallelujah 🙌
Damn. Welcome to my actual dreams thanks to PTSD and Bipolar. As a Heathen, this ties in nicely with the lyrics.
Damn I wasn’t expecting them to release a video hell yes
Even better than expected!
Definitely got more than i expected coming on youtube, this is well appreciated
glad the best song on the album is finally getting some much needed love
I appreciate that all the guards where practicing social distancing. Thank you guardians of the underworld.

Thanks man
Such a haunting song with unique visuals. I absolutely love this.
This video looks like a trailer of the new Outlast game! Good job guys, love the song and the video!

I thought of New Vegas and mostly the Honest Hearts DLC
It honestly reminds me more of until dawn

@@bozin_ru4302 No, it looks like Runescape.

Everything I hoped for !
What new song?!
No a new video for a song off the new album
Only the video is neq
Deatchcore needs more solos. Never stop, Whitechapel.
It pains me ever so slightly knowing that there are new Whitechapel fans out there that are unaware of their first two albums and have discovered the band post this is exile
Quite honestly one of the best album closers I've ever heard.
I almost fell asleep listening to this. As much as their music pumps me up, there's just something about their sound and style that just relaxes me to no end.
Hey Metal Blade, can you make massive album of just Whitechapel instrumentals?
Let there be badass heavy metal music thanks Whitechapel
Loving the drums.
I’m so happy that they made this song into a video, It’s Awesome! This whole album is Awesome!!!!🤘
One of my absolute favorites from The Valley. Love the horror theme 🤘
His lyrics are his healing.
Man...... this is the most stoked i've been on these dudes since This Is Exile.
It is criminal that there isn't a VR version of this video. I want to look around why being dragged though those red woods.
I love the chorus. Would have been so nice if it had been extended.
This is the best music video i have ever seen
honestly a masterpiece
Getting some heavy Blair Witch vibes from these visuals
Blair witch and the outlast games
Wow same
DUSK also
Dude fucking same
This trailer for next Outlast has got seriously kick ass soundtrack dude...
What a dark eerie tune and the video is like a nightmare
Fantastic 👏🏼👏🏼

This is exile had very sophisticated riffs. This one is just chugs
