My grandmother died from Dementia. I found it too hard to be around her, because as I was watching her describe events that she truly believed she experienced that day that were simply not possible, was too difficult to be around. I should have spent more time with her regardless, and I regret the time I wasted not being there. This song came out during the time of her downward spiral into the loss of grip on reality. Speaking about visiting places days apart in travel only a few hours ago, meeting relatives and family members that have been deceased for decades. She was 92. This song is an outside description of what it might be like, and it is just a fraction of a glimpse of what a person going through the stages of Dementia might be living on minute by minute basis. It will forever be in my playlists, but always in my mind when I wake up on the days remembering her voice in my head. Thank you for putting into music the expression of a topic that many will not (and hopefully never have to) experience in their life time.
Holy crap bro. Sorry for your loss. I'm currently going through it with my Grandmother. No joke. She thought she had a spot to do an individual singing spot for Easter Sunday at her church, even had the song prepped and everything. But she woke up late for church and didn't get to sing, which I think is overall good, because I think that might have ended in embarrassment. Or just them changing their stories every time they tell them, or just yeah, things that never happened, especially retelling of events literally an hour after they just happened, but to them, it is what actually happened, at least for the time being... This song is deep and helps to describe what a horrifying thing that Dementia, not only as the victim, but as the observer can be. The brain is a really crazy thing...
Going through this now, my grandmother has it. I knew it was getting bad when she called me her nephew. And wondering where my mom/her daughter was when we were both helping her in the house. Shit hurts man

Blind, blind, your eyes forever blind
Reality is dead by your force fed demise
Get out of my head!
Someone save me from this madness, I'd rather be dead!
All I see is reality, fabricated by something
I refuse to see
You know who I am

Take my cold dead hands
And go six feet down, your failure is found
I am dementia in your mind
Creator of decisions, violent visions and lies
Blind, blind, your eyes forever blind
Reality is dead by your force fed demise
I am dementia in your mind
Creator of decisions, violent visions and lies
Blind, blind, your eyes forever blind
Reality is dead by your force fed demise
Take me away, take me away
Take me away, I just want out
Take me away, I just want out
From this self-imprisoned, self-made hell
Don't be surprised, this is your mind
Coming to life by self-sacrifice
This tragedy of death will walk hand in hand with every thought of regret
Blame yourself for what you've become
The mind is a powerful thing set to self-destruct
Mind-fucked, you had your chance
Your time, this is the end of the line
This is the end of the line, this is the end
I am dementia in your mind
Creator of decisions, violent visions and lies
Blind, blind, your eyes forever blind
Reality is dead by your force fed demise
