When we asked for new Whitechapel and new Tool, I don't think anyone thought Whitechapel would deliver both.
It's the next best thing to Tool. It's not as progressive but it has the atmosphere for sure.
Stop that, both of you.
Pertty cool album. Kick ass jams
all this time I've been waiting for Opeth to add growls again and Whitechapel also delivered that too HAHAHAHA
I hear Acid Bath and not Tool.

You are amazing, thanks!
Jack clock. Thank YOU for sharing this. RIGHT on. Love this album
As someone who was never a fan of Whitechapel, this is amazing.
My sentiments exactly!
As someone who was always a fan of Whitechapel, this is meh.
This album really opened my mind to deathcore
It's essentially Whitechapel with a Tool/Deftones influence, and I dig it.
@@wsliv4611 how could this even possible to be ''meh''? do you listen to music at all?
No ads! God bless these noble men.
I have an adblock anyway
@@gregtheflyingwhale6480 god bless you
Probably because it was one of the most anticipated albums of 2019
metal blade dude... they don't need ads...
It's because they don't care about money from ads just that us fortunate people could hear this master piece
They managed to incorporate clean guitars and clean vocals without selling out at all, I’m impressed. This is their best since This is Exile at the very least.
It's Whitechapel's best album and, unless Jimi Hendrix comes back from the dead, it's the best album of 2019.
@@briancook3923 La Dispute already dropped a better album than this
Yeah La Dispute is at the top for me right now but this is still great and I haven’t really listened to deathcore in years.
@@briancook3923 It's got some competition for sure. New Slipknot, Periphery, Killswitch Engage, Children of Bodom, and Lamb of God coming (and here in COB's case).
@@fbrdj La Dispute is terrible. I've seen them multiple times. They're the band I don't watch because I'm at the bar waiting for the good band to come on stage.
I like how when the younger me was is like "Must be fast and heavy" and then now that I'm older, I find that having a balance of melody and technique/speed is actually the way to go..
Gives it a nice doomy/sludge/hardcore/thrash/powerviolence amalgamation. Perfect.
It's not the way to go, it's what you prefer
I mean I still like both fast and heavy and the balance of melodies, but most of my favorite bands are bands with that sweet balance.
@@hectorvegasduque2234 LOL
Morbid Angel have been doing the slow tempo heaviness for years.
Honestly...I think this is Whitechapel's best album, not only musically, but lyrically. This was one emotional album and you can tell Phil put everything he had into it. I'm blown away. Proud of them.
Have to agree!
I would agree that this is probably their best album, but since I grew up listening to Somatic Defilement and This is Exile I’m a little biased when it comes to those albums since their some of the first deathcore records I listened to, but The Valley without a doubt is in the same category of awesome as them two imo
@@yungzombie_xx they're all good albums. I love their old albums, but besides the heaviness there isn't too much in my opinion. Still great music, it's just this album is not only heavy, it's unique and has amazing lyrics.
Idk about unique so to speak but I haven't heard too many albums like this.
You oviously didn't hear this is exile..
im like 98% sure im in complete and total love with this album now oh my god
this shit is great. i'm right there with you.
It's gets up and ready for church, on those slow Sundays.... 🤘
2% of u needs an ass kicking. 😂
Completely agreed.
whats the other 2%? milk?
When a Demon Defiles a Witch is a different level man that Song is always giving me chills.
@Bas Roessen it speaks to me so much. Beautiful composition
I need a "Making Of" of this album
Lol, yes me too
Seconded, would love to see some raw vocals sessions from Phil in particular.
you know it
dude, same
I need to watch The sword in the stone again. Those old Disney films were fucked up. Filled with envy, death, tyrans, people shaming each other.
Guys please remember if you enjoy this, go out and buy the full album!
Already did it broski. Best purchase of my damn life
Done already and it’s totally worth it
well, instead of buying the original album. i believe there's lots out there, they are downloading the illegal album instead
Had (and took) the opportunity to get my filthy, dirty hands on a signed copy for just 20 bucks on their last tour here in Europe.... signed in... silver!
I absolutely want to ans will. This is epic.
Bozeman is top 5 vocalists in metal right now. He really shines on this album.
That’s definitely a stretch...by a lot.
Top 20 or so prob, don't think I'd say Top 5. But dude is a total beast, I didn't expect that kind of cleans from him.
Tyler Persaud Actually I dont know any other vocalist better than Phil on the game nowadays. Maybe Randy Blythe, maybe.
@@blacklabelmansociety Randy Blythe... really now...
@@blacklabelmansociety have you never heard of......oh fuck this haha
woah! metal blade is awesome for uploading the full album on youtube!
THE SLOW DEATH HOOKS Ya I totally agree bc I was worried I was gonna have to deal with ads if they made it a playlist instead.
We've got a full playlist of full album streams. ua-cam.com/video/q4yXHXJOlps/v-deo.html
Metal blade is run by gods
And not riddling it with ads.
Remember to support the band otherwise though - they cant make new music if we dont support them somehow 🤘
Putting a ton of emotion behind the writing process of this album created an absolute monster. This is the most honest music I've heard in awhile. You've guys have matured so much.
Unbelievable 11/10. Masterpiece guys. Way to evolve the game.
Listen to spirits will collide by devin townsend
Nah this is a 400 out of 10
I fucking love this album.
Peaceminus0ne personally I went through a shitload in life and first listen this floored me. The lyrics and mixing allot of death metal and some progressive rather than making it straight typical deathcore has made this a masterpiece
@@williamkramer9731 hope you get through what ever it is you are going through.
The reason why i love this album
1. Phil clean vocal (also guttural voc)
2. Drum snare sound so fcking perfect
Dr phil Sounds pretty good

the fuck is with this singing like a pop star shit, 1st track was fucking trash
These gentlemen never disappoint, This album is surely to be one of the best released of the genre this year. Back to front i am completely enthralled by it. This band is one of my all time favorites.
Djentlemen*
This shit is weak
Not really at all tho.
@HIT THE WALL Well it is more of a fact than anything but who asked for yours? Right..Nobody but the beautiful thing about the internet is the freedom to post whatever you want without needing an invitation.
This shit weak compared to Somatic Defilement and This Is Exile. Which, if you where not around for their start, those albums made their name. This shit is just to appeal to more of the normies who can't handle truly brutal and aggressive sounding music.
Long story short, they lost their roots.
8:11 As a deathcore vocalist, this is probably the biggest flex you can pull of
Very thicc roarr
Boss guttural... dude has range re : cleans too!
So happy Phil brought those highs back! But this album perfectly encompasses all Whitechapel has accomplished sonically in the past. I had my doubts and hopes and was not disappointed.
It threw me off cus its been forever...I almost thought it was someone else hahaha
I was hoping for more highs but still really enjoyed the album. Quality 👌🏽
Those highs made me cum
@@bacon349um Sea of Trees has more!
His highs on Forgiveness is Weakness are just visceral
This album is gigantic! Huge step forward but still keeps its heavyweight sound. The cleans gives me goosebumps because it's real. This poor guy has gone through some shit and its commendable to have shared it all with you all! Best album of the year so far.
Absolute Death some more than others. You’re not insightful
it's wild how new whitechapel draws me to this whitechapel. this is such a masterpiece of an album- after 4 years, still a fucking banger! add this to the master-class, boys
Going through a divorce and Hickory Creek made me cry for the first time in years. A decade with the same woman, only to become invisible. This album is truly amazing. Whitechapel really delivered something that speaks to my soul, aside from a few songs lyrically, this is a flawless album IMHO
Bring me home from the previous album got me bc of my grandpa, but yeah this album does hit different after a divorce
man i feel you so much
Divorce can resemble grief. My girl of 21yrs died during lockdown last year. I had ‘Vermilion Part 2’ played at her funeral.
Edit : Music really can help at times.
The whole album is pretty much about Bozeman's life growing up without a father after he passed away from a rare disease and his mother's struggles with addiction and a mental disorder.
Hey Brother. How's everything going these days? Did she end up begging for you to come back yet?
Ok, I give in. This shit is top quality. Consider me a Whitechapel fan.
YASS ! Masterpiece listening to that 3 times today in a row LOL Tomorrow headbanging to other of their albums while truck driving :D
Consider yourself considered!
Edit : Welcome to the fold.
This album is absolutely phenomenal!
This album has something for every Whitechapel fan. This band did not stop experimenting, but they stayed true to their fans.
Anyone saying that they sold-out is a total ignorant and knows nothing about what selling out means.
If you don't like anything here, then you're not a Whitechapel fan and never listened to anything other than This is Exile and Somatic Defilement.
Want full speed brutality?
Forgiveness is Weakness, We Are One, Lovelace, The Other Side, When A Demon Defiles A Witch.
Want clean vocals and experimentation?
When A Demon Defiles A Witch, Hickory Creek, Third Depth.
Want slow but brutal and heavy?
Brimstone, Doom Woods.
Want heavy, groovy midtempo stuff?
Black Bear, Brimstone and The Other Side.
Agreed 100% Through and through a great album. I'll be ordering tonight for sure! Not a single song that I would skip over while blasting the fuck out of it in my car!
This album makes me wanna go to the woods and fight a black bear
lost shadow hah nah hunt a hammer head shark only to use his head to chop wood lol
Why not Doom Woods
What's up Khabib?
Lol, fuck yeah
Why not go to alaska and fight a polar bear instead.. Or spar a killer whale in the arctic waters
I cant stop listening to hickory creek
That song hits home so fucking hard for me. And I know it does for Phil as well
I remember skateboarding home one day in like 2009 I saw a CD on the side of the road it was this is exile
I took it home and listened to it. They have been my favorite band since that moment. And my biggest inspiration in music
Now in 2 months my band will be playing at Rocklahoma
Owe it all to whitechapel

it's suprising how such trivial thing could affect a person's life
@@Vestki7 yeah man it's crazy

That just shows how good they are this Album has only been out for 5 Months and it's already helping people through Tough times.
Luis Beltrán Same
@@theresnomich5954 helped me through a breakup. Whitechapel is one of a handful of bands that I can turn to in any situation and for that I will always be thankful.
I doubt anyone will see this but this album really hits hard. Like I get the emotion behind " Forgiveness Is Weakness" and other songs in this album because of some events I've lived through. I personally hate that I understand the emotions behind that song and wish no one knew that experience but in a way its reassuring that others have experienced those emotions in response to trauma.
@@mtfmetalhead6897 Just wanted you to know that I saw your post bro and I too understand (in the worst of ways) the pain Phil is conveying. Keep your strength friend.
Don't know how they managed but after all these years Whitechapel drops easily their best album and Phil letting himself out there with lyrics straight from the heart really punch you right in the chest. Really feel for him and everything he went through, especially since being lucky enough to meet him and how down to earth he was despite his issues that we now know about.
Welcome back, Phil's highs. we missed you.
Matthew Imperato haven’t heard them just yet
Right? Mark of the blade had a weird mid-yell and had 0 prominent highs. I missed them too
probably my favorite Whitechapel album of all time!
It does NOT compare to This Is Exile or Somatic Defilement. Those 2 albums are what made their name. So, no, this is not their best.

It's not often a band comes back in such a BIG way. This album in my opinion surpasses by far what they have done before. It's honest, raw, hard as hell and truely gut wrenching all at the same time. Absolutely a masterpiece.
I am fucking blown away by this album, not a single bad song on the track list. I honestly wasn’t a major fan of Whitechapel before but this might just change that fact, because holy shit is this good.
Taylor Gallant lmaooooo
Taylor Gallant you’re not any better by hurling insults, trump supporter.
Taylor Gallant lol! You’re a ignorant clown, kid. You don’t know me. At least im not a closeminded tryhard who’s using mommy’s computer to shit on other people’s opinions.
They never seaze to amaze me. The songs just speak to me on a whole new page. This is why Whitechapel is my all time favorite band, hands down.
How many here have blasted this while driving through the San Fernando Valley, while everyone else is listening to what they are told they are supposed to like, with a big smile on your face? Well I just did and I'm grateful my parents taught me to think for myself and listen with my heart, otherwise I most likely would never had discovered such beauty! 🙏🏻❤️
Then again I'm pretty sure my old boss mastered this album so then again I might have 🤣
Hickory Creek is absolutely fantastic dude

Loving this so much! Great album! Amazing composition!
I'm so glad Phil's starting to utilize his highs more often
This album is a evolution in this band, no doubt. "Forgiveness Is Weakness" and "Doom Woods" my favorites of this album.
An album that truly growed intensily from first listening! It has turned out to be one absolute favourite album to me!! And has an interesting, but alas, a sad backstory. Good impressive work Phil & Co!..
The dynamic range in mood & progression of this album brought me back to Whitechapel. Long-time fan here, actually wearing their T today too! It's beautiful to listen to something fresh. Love it.
Nice! 🎸❤

This is a side of whitechapel I've never heard, it's still as brutal as ever but they've added a huge element of melancholy to it that fits great. Reminds me of the faceless

Truly incredible, a real masterpiece!
This album, especially the bonus track, Sea of Trees, hits too close to home, and matches up to too many events in my life, for me to buy and listen to regularly;
Don’t get me wrong, it sounds great, and it’s amazing compared to most of their music after This is Exile, but this album just takes me back to a place I don’t want to go to...
Great job, great album, most real music they’ve made in recent times, but damn, this is hard to listen to if you can relate to his story. 😔
Thought it might be cathartic to hear somebody (whose talent you appreciate) has had similar tribulations. Hope you’re doing well.
Who's ready to hear these newer songs live on the Chaos & Carnage tour?!
I have a feeling that Third Depth, Doom Woods and We Are One are future contenders to be extremely heavy mosh anthems.
Fantastic album, Whitechapel truly delivered with this one.

Joseph Cordell that would probably be a disaster. Do a Google search and see exactly what this is about. Track 2 celebrates his step father's death and is what triggered allot of memories. Guys father shot himself at like 9. His mother had serious mental issues with split personality disorder. His step father was a pos who treated him like shit and pushed his mother over the edge, and she killed herself within five years of his father's death. Through her diaries they found that she identified herself as 34 different personalities, many very disturbing, hence track 1. Some of the lyrics contain contents of those diaries. I couldn't imagine seeing someone through making something that had to be this difficult
