I have this compressor, it’s hooked up to my arb air locker in the rear. Am I able to hook up a air compressor for filling up my tires? If so how or where would I find the info?
How is the compressor attached for the locker? Is it a normal hose? If so, you could disconnect it, put it a hose like what I showed and go between the two.
SUPER HELPFUL VIDEO. After about 80x watches I got my compressor installed this week relatively pain-free! However finishing the wiring through the fire wall was not as easy as advertised, albeit I was working solo. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough and explanations. Cheers!
Hello dude! I may be a bit late here but do u mind telling me the purpose of that white plastic thing u are pointing at 2:48? I also found those on my arb air comp but i do not know the use of it... would u mind.. Thanks!
Mine are still blank! I think you can add something else to it, but I'm not exactly sure what you would add there. It could be wiring for air lockers or something like that purpose!
Definitely behind the seats, but it might be a bit bulky underneath the seat. I have seen people put them in the storage compartment in the bed, but I think a good bit of trimming is required for that!
Well I had a drawer full of them and picked out ones that fit properly. I don't remember the size, so sorry for that! I'm sure you could test fit some at a local auto parts store possibly.
Our install was a bit different since we drive a Frontier, but your info about the fuse adaptors was super helpful since we couldn't find any info on how to do this on a Frontier. Had to do a little figuring out ourselves but this was an incredibly helpful start.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed we’ve had ours installed about a month and I use it at least once a week for the days I’m driving in sand for work it’s been a game changer
You two are really something as I'm truly amazed by the level of knowledge you both have about cars. As I watched this video I was captivated by the way you two worked on this new mod then knowing what's what. Excellent 👌.
No! It’s worked great for what I’ve done! I did 8 tires back to back once and it was fine! I don’t use a ton so maybe if it was every weekend, but I don’t see upgrading at all.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I want to be able to air up, and also use it for a air horn. Deep down I know the single would be fine with a gallon tank, but I’ll probably end up buying the twin.
I’m facing the same problem like others: the ARB won’t turn on and system shows “pre-collision system malfunction”. Followed the video instruction, please advise.
You are seeing "pre-collision system malfunction" on the truck dash screen? If that's what you mean, I don't think that would be affected by the compressor.
I love it! I use it for not only going off the pavement to air back up, but to check tires during cold weather and I've had to use it for other peoples cars too, it's been great having it mobile!
Did you just add the fuse tap in there with just the fuse from the fuse box or did you have another fuse added into the other slot on the tap? I can’t get my compressor to come on with the switch on my second gen? Thanks
I’m gonna do the same thing to my 2nd gen taco, but I’m gonna put it in the storage compartment in the bed. The one opposite the bed outlet. Will it fit in there?
Hi, thanks for the great informative video. wondering what particular fuse adopter you used as i got one from Auto zone and realized the fuse from truck don't match with the adapter.
lukestoyz don’t have this one, but I have the twin model. Love it, if you don’t have the ability to make your own mount. Sleep off-road makes a Underhood mount, and expedition essentials makes a bed box mount. So you got options. Made a small video of my set up.
Ok so the solution for me was adding two fuses to the fuse adapter. I couldn’t get my switch to turn on either and was not finding a solution in the comments. It hit me that there were two fuse ports on the fuse adapter so I tried putting two fuses in and then I got power to the switch and compressor.
Love yalls video quality, still trying to learn more about editing and better cameras. Like that you was able to make your own mount, I opted for the slee off-road bracket, love it, it actually goes in the same spot you used. Not sure if anyone mentioned, a switch underhood. Good idea
Since you have to pop the hood to use the air compressor and you're only using it for tire inflation, why do you need a switch on the dash? Why not just have a mounted weatherproof switch on the firewall next to the compressor? Seems like a lot of much trouble to go through for no gain.
Thanks for sharing, should make the install go a little smoother tomorrow. Don't worry though, if something goes wrong, I'll be sure to blame you in the comments! (Sarcasm/joke) lol!

Glad you found this video to be helpful! Wiring is always the trickiest!
About bloody time there is a video that actually shows the wiring good work

I don't. But I've never had an issue and I've gone down to around 15psi
What size nuts did you use to mount it to the three pre existing bolts on the passenger side fender? Where did you get them?

Where did you order the fuse adapters from? I have some but not sure if they are the same?
You can get those from the local auto parts store! Just make sure they fit the fuse you are using. Some fuses are longer than others.
I love your videos i cant wait to upgrade my Tacoma i have a question adding all those led lights and the compressor do yo have to upgrade the battery
Glad you like the vids! I havent had an issue with my battery. I always have the engine running when I use the compressor tho

Great video guys! Ordered the fuse adapter and should be installing next week
Nice! I use it a good bit, one of the best mods I've done!
I don't understand the fuse adapter part. Where did you get those?
From my local auto parts store, they are very common, just make sure they fit the length of the fuse being used.
Where did you buy the fuse adapters?
Thanks for the detailed installation. Subscribed. Except for the lighting it was a perfect video.
Thanks for the sub! We have bought new cameras since then and have an led light we use now in low light situations!

I followed the same and having the same warnings.
Should have put switch under hood u have to hook up hose any way n then u don’t lose room in truck for light switches where they should be
Thats actually not a bad idea. I didn't even think about that
Where does the little black wire go?
Can you time stamp where you are talking about!?
Great info!! Could you send a link for the fuse adapters?
I got those from my local auto parts store! Advance auto or auto zone should have those!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thx.
to the fuse adapter you put fuses, or only those that were placed in the fuse box?
How do you like that compressor? I'm thinking about getting it for my outback. I'm running 245/65R 17 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tire

Glad it was helpful!
Anyone know where I can buy a bracket ?
I made one! It was pretty cheap and not that hard to do! ua-cam.com/video/GzWz8IW41Ow/v-deo.html
Can I bypass tapping into the fuse box?
I haven't watched this in awhile lol, but I don't think I tapped into the fuse box at all, just into the battery.

Fuse has to be the longer one.. but with that one, my compressor won’t turn on either.. did you figure it out?
Thanks for the install video. Would you happen to have a link for the fuse connector?
I got them from my local auto parts store! Most places carry them!
Can the brightness of the switch be controlled like all the other instrument and switch lights?
Are you using all the wires in the isolation switch loom?
Yeah, it's just the three together on that switch.
What amp fuses you put into each adapter and what side is load/source when you plug it into the fuse panel?
I’m gonna do the same thing to my 2nd gen taco, but I’m gonna put it in the storage compartment in the bed. The one opposite the bed outlet. Will it fit in there?
It would, it took up the whole compartment though and I didn't really want to drill into the plastic or anything, but it could work there.
Bros FOURR Speed thanks
How’s it holding up?
Never had an issue and I've used it several times off road! Love it!
perfect well priced
It was a great tool to have!
Why not just mount the Switch by the compressor on the bracket. You have to open the hood and plug in hose there anyway.
While that's a good spot for it too, you also have to go inside to turn the truck on as well to use it too. Both spots could work.
What fuses did you use?
I don't think I used any, just connected it to the battery.
Hi, thanks for the great informative video. wondering what particular fuse adopter you used as i got one from Auto zone and realized the fuse from truck don't match with the adapter.

That's the smallest one ARB do for inflating tyres. The smaller one you refer to is for air lockers only
Well this one works fine for inflating tires on my truck
Not exactly sure what you mean. This compressor I installed in this video is what I use to inflate the tires, it works well!
