I'm guessing that's the mic for when you use bluetooth in your phone, might not be a good idea to put it there if you want your mic to hear you clearly
The ECT button from what I have seen is mainly used for towing, it holds the rpm in a higher range so you can use a lower gear at that higher rpm to get up hills and things like that or slight inclines on the highway. The pedal commander controls the throttle input and basically allows you to use less of the pedal with it providing more acceleration. It tricks the system to think you are using more pedal than you are. So those two things are completely different!
I've been using the PC for 1.5 yrs on my Tacoma and cannot step on the gas without the truck choking all up even on city -4. PISSES ME OFF. I do have a K&N cold air intake and an MBRP catback. @@tieoneon1614 It that's true on the 4 cylinder that's pretty cool, with the v6, I haven't felt anything with it, I've tried it towing and it just holds the revs longer.
Mr robot XX Nope. This product doesn’t add any Power whatsoever. If you want better throttle response this product will help. But it does not add any power despite what the idiot that posted this video says lol.
Guys...before you bought the PC did you see all the reviews on Amazon etc... of guys saying they bought it and it locked their computers up...got a yellow screen and it put the truck in limp home mode and crashed their trucks computer...where you worried about that at all? Has your computer recognized the PC?
That's a good point, engine mods technically don't void warranty unless they can actually prove it did something to harm the vehicle though. There's a lot of grey lines with mods I think.
It did not, I thought it would, but eco mode basically eliminates all power. If you are on a flat highway it might help some, but I haven't seen an increase.
I mean, you can't fault someone for wanting you improve the driving experience of their vehicle, weather it be a Tacoma or a Mustang, most cars/trucks made in the past 15 years suffer from a lazy unresponsive throttle input because that's just the nature of the computer controlled fly by wire systems, installing something like this just improves your day to day drive ability and there's nothing wrong with that, you're not going to set the 1/4 mile on fire with your Tacoma just because you have this no, but it'll be more fun to drive which is what counts for daily drivers.
I wasn't able to watch the whole video (will later) but from the first 10 minutes Ive seen...why not regear? While you don't have huge tires, you have bigger tires and regearing helps with the sluggish/searching of gears. This just helps with acceleration. This doesn't provide anymore power to the truck. While I don't fault you for wanting better acceleration, eve though its a truck, this doesn't seem to make much sense...
In all honesty having the sharper throttle response just makes the truck lighter on its toes and better to drive. I'll be doing some tests off road with it, and I think that will help out a lot with the slow speed crawling. Its annoying to have to floor the gas pedal all the time just to get some response. It doesn't add any power, but it moves the power band lower to make it more usable.
This will help with the lag, not the vibration. If the vibration is coming from the front it's either from not adding the diff drop kit, but if you did that, it could be from the driver side needle bearing. That is somewhat common but I've usually seen it on truck with a lift larger than 3'', hope that helps.
Have one, 18 Taco. Works great, but in zero deg temps, throws truck into "Limp Mode". Dead in the water, tow to dealer. Posted conplaint on Amazon, It hurt sales so much the company had Amazon pull my posting. If you live in a warm climate it works fine

Love what you’ve done with the truck. Random question. I saw in the background of one of your other vids, you had a scale model of your R8, what site did you use? I wanna do that for my car!
For the vinyl? I got the vinyl off amazon! Just find the color you want and you could get samples for a model car!
Does it really fit on a Tacoma
Just like in this install video, yes, I still currently have this pedal commander installed on my truck as well and it's been fine since this video!
2010 second generation, if so let me know I’m interested
Plus my truck is standard shift
Yeah the Pedal Commander should work fine for your truck
Can this pedal be left on eco all time even when turning truck off and on ? Or I have to press what mode every time I turn truck on. Help brothers. I know ect need to be turned on always when truck is turned on.
Whichever setting I leave it in, it will stay unless I change it, so turning the truck on and off won't affect it!
It stays wherever you leave the setting . When you turn the vehicle off then back on you will be in the same mode .
I hooked mine up on my 2020 Ram Rebel eco diesel and it makes a huge difference .
If you’re thinking about getting one , do it . Changes the way I drive my truck 🇨🇦
Do you have a v6 or 2.7l?
It's the V6!
Don't these just change shift points. And your truck is triptonic so if u want to go faster put it in manual?
It makes the gas pedal more responsive. The lag from when you hit the pedal to when the truck response is pretty delayed. This helps a ton!
Gotcha I just got a cold air intake and different catback and mine seems way more responsive then it was. Thanks for the info
I just installed my pedal commander. The "Eco" light is not on. Does this mean this that the Eco mode is not working? thanks
The light only appears on the mode that you are currently in, so if it's lit up, that's the mode being used and the others should be on.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed the rest of the lights are on when you are using them. But the "Eco" light is not on. So I wonder if this is malfunction. thanks for your response.
@@tunshwe7941 you gotta hold down the button to get it into eco! Hope this helps
That air filter fit a 2004 Tacoma
Only mod I did was replace the valve caps with aluminum red caps and get some rubber floormats
I did however replace the headlights and reverse lights with led
All the mods I think I need
how about in track mode?
I tested that in the video!! It's not worth it at all in a pickup, I only used it once to at least show it. Way tooo responsive and it's just too much.
does this thing kill your gas faster?
Awesome video
Thanks!
Bros FOURR Speed you welcome bro!!!
Good investment!👍👊 Awesome video guys!
Thanks!
So, pedal commander or regear 5.29? Still unsure what will be more beneficial
Regear
You guys like performance, you'd be better off with an orange virus tune and not this gimmick.
I've never heard of that one so I'll have to look it up.
Bros FOURR Speed the orange virus tune is a lot better. It will also remap your shift points.. shifting will be a ton better
WHERE CAN WE BUY THE ORANGE VIRUS
@@JuanManuel-fm9jt ovtuned.com
They also incorporate all the ECU updates or service bulletin changes into their tunes, so no more trips to the dealer for ECU updates...
what LED bulbs did you used, I purchased the blacksmoke tron style lights, but they're illegal in SC
For what? Diode Dynamics and LasFit have a great selection of LED bulbs for the vehicle
It’s for. 2020 Tacoma pro
Have you seen any difference n fuel economy? I want the power or throttle response maybe but I’m looking for fuel economy mods? Any ideas? Not looking to spend $1000
Havent noticed a change in MPG. I did new gears and it bumped it up just slightly. Don't plan on actually being able to improve MPG in a truck.
Look into changing the diff gears and a OV tune (Tune will help with MPH and overall functionality of the Tacoma)
Have you re geared your truck?
Just lookin in your tacoma I notice we have different panel patterns around our temperature controls and entertainment screens. Mine’s the charcoal grey and I’d love to put in what you have. Do you know what that part is called? Also would like to replace down around the cup holders. Thanks!
That was actually a DIY project we did with body color matched paint! Super fun to do!

Shweet thanks man
Ahh no I’m actually talking about something possibly called a dash kit? www.carid.com/toyota-tacoma-dash-kits/. If you scroll all the way down to where you see the ‘brushed aluminum’ option (the picture is of the fake wood stuff), I’d like what you have in those places. Not sure what to call it.
@@cod63667 No problem! It's a fun project and can give the interior a great look!

What kind bed cover u have ? Pros and cons?
It's a gator trifold, only con I can see is sometimes during heavy rain there will be a small amount of water inside, but that could me just aligning the cover on a little off when I put it back on, but other than that its great for the money. ua-cam.com/video/k3WXpTDCyt0/v-deo.html
I'm looking into this mod for my 2019 Tacoma
Nice! Well worth it!
Do you have an upgraded exhaust? Sounds louder...
I do! It's the AFE catback system! Here's the install on that if you want to see it! ua-cam.com/video/41jPGDIKmh0/v-deo.html
Is that little vent you're covering have any significance to the car? I heard that might be the mic for an alarm system or for climate control but I wanted to make sure :)
I'm not really sure, maybe an alarm, but I haven't seen or heard any issues!
I'm guessing that's the mic for when you use bluetooth in your phone, might not be a good idea to put it there if you want your mic to hear you clearly
@@BrosFOURRSpeed it's where the automatic temperature sensor is located . if you have a manual temperature control covering it is ok.
dont mislead people, there is no horse power increase with the PC, just throttle response.
I never said it added more power, but with the improved throttle response, you have that power come on sooner.
Will this work on my 2018 trd off road manual transmission tacoma?
It should! Really helps get rid of the throttle delay
@@BrosFOURRSpeed sweeeeet. Thank you
Is there a difference between the pedal commander and ECT power?
Too much air I think. It all works at speed but from 0 to 60 it blows....bunch of times I've just bogged down in traffic due to this.
That's interesting, I haven't had any issues, I've put about 340 miles on the truck so far with it.
Any problems you run with it ? I plan to put a pedal commander on my nismo z34
I haven't had any issues with it, it's worked great.
Ever notice how so many UA-camrs pronounce “the” as “thee” instead of “thu”. Tacomaholic does this same thing, as do so many others.
There are two ways to pronounce the word 'the'. It will sound like 'thu' if the next word starts with a consonant, it will be pronounced 'thee' if the next word starts with a vowel. 'Thu Lamborghini is yellow'. Thee elephant is gray. Just a bit of how the American english language works.
How much for the struts and shocks?
Push the ECT button and it does it for free
Not really. That button just holds gears for longer if you are towing. It won't adjust throttle response at all
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes it does, it advances the throttle just like the peddle commander does and adjusts the transmission
@@tieoneon1614 I haven't seen that work at all for those purposes. How often do you use that on yours?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed i heard people say they cant feel the difference on the V6, on the I4 it makes a big difference. When im in the mnts or just feel like more response i use it, almost daily. I would not have bought the auto 2.7 if it didnt have it.
@@tieoneon1614 It that's true on the 4 cylinder that's pretty cool, with the v6, I haven't felt anything with it, I've tried it towing and it just holds the revs longer.
I have a 2020 tundra, I’ve notice lacking in power when going up on the hill, you thinks this will helps? Thanks
Mr robot XX Nope. This product doesn’t add any Power whatsoever. If you want better throttle response this product will help. But it does not add any power despite what the idiot that posted this video says lol.
@@fc3sguy Theres been video's of dyno's done that prove you're actually the idiot here.
What's up with these for ranger adds on every tacoma video if we want a tacoma then that's what we want right
Lol, that's UA-cams algorithms for you!
Lol "Considering a Tacoma? Take a look at this ranger thatll die 10 years earlier."
Guys...before you bought the PC did you see all the reviews on Amazon etc... of guys saying they bought it and it locked their computers up...got a yellow screen and it put the truck in limp home mode and crashed their trucks computer...where you worried about that at all? Has your computer recognized the PC?
I've never seen any issues like that, I've gone almost 1k miles now with zero issues. Not sure where you saw all that.
Every video I've seen has been positive so why get a tune that voids your warranty when you can have this which helps with acceleration
That's a good point, engine mods technically don't void warranty unless they can actually prove it did something to harm the vehicle though. There's a lot of grey lines with mods I think.
A tune can/will add power, this device can’t do that it’s simply for throttle response.
Did eco mode increase fuel efficiency?
It did not, I thought it would, but eco mode basically eliminates all power. If you are on a flat highway it might help some, but I haven't seen an increase.
If you buy a Tacoma to go fast.... you should buy a Nissan Sentra for luxury
Lol true, but it is nice to have some more responsiveness!
😂😂😂
I mean, you can't fault someone for wanting you improve the driving experience of their vehicle, weather it be a Tacoma or a Mustang, most cars/trucks made in the past 15 years suffer from a lazy unresponsive throttle input because that's just the nature of the computer controlled fly by wire systems, installing something like this just improves your day to day drive ability and there's nothing wrong with that, you're not going to set the 1/4 mile on fire with your Tacoma just because you have this no, but it'll be more fun to drive which is what counts for daily drivers.
I got the PC they work 👍 greatttttttt
Nice! It's been a cool mod! We did one on the R8 and Supra too and it makes a big difference!
Hello any issues with the pedal commander long term ?
So far so good!
Have u try the Sprint booster and does it fo the same thing
@@doda7443 thanks wish it was cheaper 300 seems to be a little to much
I wasn't able to watch the whole video (will later) but from the first 10 minutes Ive seen...why not regear? While you don't have huge tires, you have bigger tires and regearing helps with the sluggish/searching of gears. This just helps with acceleration. This doesn't provide anymore power to the truck. While I don't fault you for wanting better acceleration, eve though its a truck, this doesn't seem to make much sense...
In all honesty having the sharper throttle response just makes the truck lighter on its toes and better to drive. I'll be doing some tests off road with it, and I think that will help out a lot with the slow speed crawling. Its annoying to have to floor the gas pedal all the time just to get some response. It doesn't add any power, but it moves the power band lower to make it more usable.
youre not getting more horse power ll it does is change the response time of the throttle
I know lol
Question: did you mod the interior of the taco with the blue accents?... love it.
How has the pedal commander been since you have installed it
No issues. Really liking the improvement.
hey I lifted my Tacoma 3 inches and added bigger tires i feel a lot of lag and vibration when i accelerate will this help get rid of it thank you :D
Even if you unplugged it, it would still be in limp mode? I haven't had any issues with that, but not sure how it would affect that though.
I highly doubt ur mpg is that high all stock yes but wheels and M/T no way ur mpg stayed the same.
I don't have M/T, they are A/T's and yea I average around 17 or more depending on how I drive.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed man my 2021 tacoma 4x4 trail edition gets like 15.5 mpg most the time. That's wild.
@@FoxVelox222 Since I’ve upgraded to 35’s it’s gone down just a little now lol!

I got all the interior pieces from Tufskinz!
UA-cam is really screwing automotive youtubers. I’ve been working on my channel and its been REALLY hard to get views and subs, and I think my vids are pretty good. Yours are really good vids, and deserve more views. I don’t get it
We've had that same thought as well, UA-cam has definitely changed a lot since we started, I don't get it either.
You should try orange virus tuning and make a video on their product
Hey when you added the pedal Commander did it stop it from hunting for Gears as much or did it not do anything just give you more power?
Really sharpens throttle response and seems to go to the correct gear much quicker. It doesn't add power, rather makes the existing power much more usable.
