Cool video. Matt I ran an Automotive shop for many years. here are some suggestions of things to carry on every recovery vehicle in a go bag. Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection headband flashlights, Radios. This channel is a breath of fresh air in a world of increasingly bad and unsavory content. Matt and Jaimie (darn spelling of names again!) have built a great little family at M.O.R.R. They might be just kids, but they have proven that they can handle some pretty tough recoveries! Katelyn, Kaulin, & Jake have done some knarly recoveries on their own! Thanks for the update on a couple of missed Wednesdays. I know what you were getting at, some in the comments were jumping to conclusions!
"I'm so dizzy my head is spinning" and you make it look so easy, your right the team is growing and learning thanks to your expertise and years of knowledge, great videos TY for taking us along,, just say'n!
I sure do enjoy watching you and the MORR crew. You have a great head on your shoulders. The way you teach and bring along the next generation by teaching them new skills, letting them get their hands wet and above all letting them fail from time to time and guiding them back to the right path. Invaluable lessons.
It's great your family is involved with the business, but yes they are young and learning. Once they actually know how to do things better than you can do them (not just thinking they can) you will have truly succeeded Matt. 👽🗿👽
I've been watching this channel for about 2 to 3 years now. I have no idea how it came into my feed but I have been hooked from the first one that I watched. There are many elements involved in the production of these videos. From the incredible cast of Real People to the on point camera work. It all gets tied together with the “class leading“ editing and production team. You also have all the work that is done in the shop and on the trail leading me to wonder, "how are they going to get themselves out of this one?" 😁 I think the words that describe this channel to me are Love, Respect and Duty. I appreciate this Channel and wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2025 and beyond!
Your crew of "kids" are learning and getting better every day. We ALL started at the bottom of things and learned along the way. Give those "kids" 5 to 10+ years like all the specialists in comments have had to get to where they are and those kids will be awesome!
The kids are like sponges, they soak up new and different things and ways of doing jobs. In five years, they will be leaving the old guys stumbling along like cavemen.
I think one of the best things is when you assigned a person to each of the vehicles. I have noticed the completeness of required components on each recovery has been greatly improved. I expect that the shop manager will do the same for the fab and maintenance side of things for each of the vehicles too. (I have noticed the struggle with the equipment failures and non-working equipment). Keep up the good work. We appreciate it.
I can sympathize with Matt, about not eating lunch. I was a Master Carpenter/builder and when I was building certain things, like cabinetry, usually working alone...I'd get on a roll and would just forget...next thing, I'd be, "hmmm, I'm hungry" look at clock and it would be 1:30...oops.. SUGGESTION to address over heating possibilities... Get another windshield washer reservoir and pump, a big one, then get 3,4 nozzles, put the nozzles in front of the radiator...when temp starts climbing, "spritz" the radiator, you could set up a timer, rheostat, even thermostatically control..automatic, when reach a high temp. for spikes, that would be a simple help.
Sorry, but the "spritzers" idea doesn't work in the West. The dust us so fine and sticks to water droplets so easy, the radiator would be a mud crusted blob after one trip. Ask me how I know...
i don't know how a shop manager will ever work. matt's the man in charge. everything will always flow through him, unless you bring back someone like Tom who knows how to do everything and knows everybody, and can take some off Matt's plate... but matt's the man in charge, and it'll always come back to him and his input. It's his fleet, shops, and money.
Yep. I've worked at two family owned businesses with less than 20 people at each one. Even though they'd hire a manager, the owner would always override about 90% of the decisions the manager made. And then they'd be shocked and offended when the manager moved on to a good job.
It's difficult to find the right manager, but not impossible, if the owner is consistent, not completely arbitrary. A good manager will learn what the owner would do if they were there. That's why it is so much easier to recruit from within. I don't care how good a manager is, it takes months for an outsider to gain that understanding. And don't forget, in this case, a manager will need to consider Matt and Jamie's wishes. Matt and Jamie, remember that. Hire a good manager, then give them space. COMMUNICATE with them. Not about them. Give them time and space to learn your system. And they will make what you think of as mistakes. That's how everyone learns, if given the chance.
Matt / MORR - 2 thoughts... love seeing Katelynn in the mix. I'm sure she is a great inspiration to others!!!! As are your boys/family. Second thought. Call the local Civil Air Patrol (CAP). They/we can do oversight flights in aircraft and provide pictures to the local EMS, Fire, Rescue and others... We've done this for a major PGA event... and then the authorities stitch together a large 8-10 foot print out of the site... They create a "Command Center" and label tents and rescue and other KEY locations... Then, they can communicate VERY FAST... and say things like "we have a possible heart attach at Tent 6"... and everyone KNOWS where this location is. Otherwise - it can be Kaos. CAP is free... an auxiliary of the USAF... and staffed by 65,000 volunteers across all the USA... Please USE IT. Just get them involved a few weeks out. I'll come and run all (emergency) communications if needed. Best regards. Have fun!
Hope you get some managerial relief soon Matt, I was shop foreman years ago (30) for a dealership, wish I could come do it but I got a full plate and then some LOL, It is a good idea for you to do the "rant" because it lets us know a little bit of what is going on. Thanks for all you share, love seeing your boys get in on the fabs!
I love the sound design on this video, the way the music gets quieter when people start talking is nice but having the music sound like it is in the next room is just cool!
I watch every video, no matter when it drops. I'm pretty familiar with what has to happen in the background to make a time sensitive organization operate. We don't see it but I at least know its there and am amazed at how you keep it moving.
What's it going to take to push this channel over the 2 million mark? The content, video editing, the family atmosphere, the crew and most of all Matt are all spot on and make you "Tune in". I think if every fan of the channel would post these videos to Facebook, Instagram and other social media, we could get it there. I mean honestly, this channel deserves the spot light as much as any of the other 2 million plus sub channels. So, come on folks, let have an all out drive to the 2 million mark!
Oh now I can't wait to here what this new secret project is!!! Also can't wait to see the spud truck finished and actually doing recoveries, can't wait to see what it's capable of. Plus all the bugs that'll have to be worked out. Good luck on finding a great shop manager, we know you'll pick someone awesome for the job.
You hit a home run hiring Katelyn. In fact your whole crew is exemplary. I agree you need a shop manager to keep supplies stocked, workloads scheduled, bookkeeping management, merchandising, dispatching rescues and coordination of staff and agencies for the upcoming games.
One of my favorite things about this channel is the mentorship Matt gives to the youngsters under his wing. Especially the young ladies. Teaching them mechanical skills that will serve them well and not relegating them to “women’s work.” First Lizzy, now Katelin. Love it!

@2:30 the 2 problem situation is something I teach my students early on as a bicycle mechanic. there is no reason for it being only 1 problem. That assumption may cosy you a lot of time😂. It seems Matt is up to speed on this. The relief/annoyed face is very relatable
Personally, i think its awesome that you run a crew with younger kids and that you can keep up. Not a lot of people would do that in heavy duty industries. You are teaching them life skills and being a fantastic mentor.
In several videos, you’ll have 1 or more people riding on the back of the wrecker or bombi I’d like to suggest a few strategically located receivers on such vehicles that would allow you to pop in some simple seats as/where needed (like a bass boat)
Matt your videos are better than anything on the discovery channel. Keep up the good work with your great family and crew! Thanks for sharing (venting) and don’t burn yourself out. And you got me excited about your big new thing.
Excellent, I love seeing the work in the shop. Then seeing it on the trails. The kids you have working are pretty impressive. They all have a bright future in whatever trade they settle with.
Watching every video no matter how slow or fast, or what projects are going on. This and FabRats finally got me inspired to finish my truck project of 13 years now I promised myself I’d finish before I lost my father to cancer. But we’re pushing forward and managing life as best as we know how. Every video gets me outside to take another step.
Hey Matt! Some of the 67-72 60 series trucks had a drivers side hood air induction system that would work really well with what you’re trying to do. A lot of the heavy duty trucks had them from the 60’s. It would be super cool to use that assembly
I know the feeling Matt. When I ran my own workshop, as we grew, there became so many different aspects to try & manage. It's honestly a great problem to have but as you know, it takes finding the right people to surround yourself with to make it a success. I wish you well there, cause I found it hard to find the right people who wanted to stick around or at least some who actually cared for what they did! I can honestly see the boys fitting in well in the fab work.
I really liked the quiet “stuff on your mind” session at the end of the video. Thanks for sharing. And it sounds like you have invited Paul Cox to The Games. I hope to see you two have fun together again.
I watch this channel specifically for Matt. He is the glue that can hold all the chaos together. And he is funny as all get out whistling Christmas tunes

Don't sweat the electric fan, it's the best decision I've made for my truck, and my buddy put a couple on his 73 Omega. Both run cooler, and you get less drag on the engine, increasing hp, mpg, and your waterpumps life span. Nice work on the big blue👍
Watching kaulin and matt work together. He lets him figure stuff out, it reminds me of him and rudy nd rudy is a hell of a fabricator. so this is cool to see
Yes, of course you have some importent points Matt. After what you told your company is growing so fast that you are in a breaking point in terms of your organization, where the most importent is to find the areas where your own presence are most important. And as known, if you have to hire more people you probebly want someone who can raise some areas in the organization. It's often wise to pick an high skilled chairman of the board, one you really can trust outside your own family, with the right experience to know where to stand on the brakes or put the pedal to the metal. As known the most difficult often is when a smaller organization is growing very fast, but either you will keep the CEO in your family or hire someone, in importent questions it could be a bit easier for you and the CEO if it's possible to take a phone call to an experienced chairman you can trust outside the company and the family, someone you can have an open discussion with in cases that really matters. Best wishes from an Norwegian friend.

I like Kaitlyn always laughing and smiling just a happy go lucky girl and you treat her like a daughter more than an employee. God bless you all.
I appreciate this Channel and wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2025 and beyond!
whomever made the editiing choices for this video... superb work. watchable, relatable, enjoyable... you hit every metric.
As in every repair or fabrication shop, someone with team leading and mechanical experience
They could use a parts manager that tracks and monitors builds
Yup Tom is your man.
Have fun!
Not a bad idea to involve the CAP, but with "Google Earth" they should be able to do the same thing online.
Kaitlin is the happiest person I've ever watched. keep up the good work.
Katelynn
Thanks for the business update at the end Matt 🎉
I love the sound design on this video, the way the music gets quieter when people start talking is nice but having the music sound like it is in the next room is just cool!
I watch every video, no matter when it drops. I'm pretty familiar with what has to happen in the background to make a time sensitive organization operate. We don't see it but I at least know its there and am amazed at how you keep it moving.
For an in shop video like this one. This was a better than normal for me. Informing us and what's Kind of.
Going on is good.
Love it!
Hey Matt... I really appreciate the personal update and plot foreshadowing...!! I love your family friendly content, brother... ✌️🇨🇦🙂
I might have said it before, but, the SpudTruck is likely gonna be my favorite!
As AWESOME as I think the MORRvair is...as much as the Wrecker is my style...the SpudTruck...OH, THE SPUDTRUCK!!! 😀😃😄😁
I would propose using a little piece of foam to keep relays from dropping out on rocky terrain.
Not every day a bot has a good idea
@@OnewheelordealDude as soon as I saw that woman in the profile pic after you said bot I realized then it was a bot. 😂 I'm dying rn... Wow you're right though.
@@OnewheelordealI bet it used to be a real comment but the bot copy and pasted it also. Just report em for spam and also say they're bot comment spamming, UA-cam will ban them then.
@@StyphoryteI 100% agree with your sentiment but they will just make another account and continue so it's really YTs problem to fix with some lines of code, not ours.
@@Onewheelordeal Exactly right man, that's why I stopped wasting my time reporting them anymore. But maybe one day if they can somehow limit the way these channel accounts are created then they'd be fine but instead they don't. Makes no sense it's been like 4 years of these bots, you'd think they would've done something by now. 🤣
Best part. Son teaching mom to weld. Y’all are an awesome family.
Also, awesome mom being willing to give it a go
@@Ron-n2o Awesome mom for actually doing ok on her first time!
If mum is right handed. Teach her to weld from left to right. Its easier to see your weld line if done that way. Right to left on a right handed person tends to hide your weld line.
Great moment in the video and Kaulin suggesting it. Plus Jayme always willing to try.
Hey Matt, I learned a great motto when working on aircraft….”you gotta fix a lot of a-problems to fix the-problem.”
I love watching you guys ... and a relay falling out is kinda funny .... gotta love when it's easy
In several videos, you’ll have 1 or more people riding on the back of the wrecker or bombi
I’d like to suggest a few strategically located receivers on such vehicles that would allow you to pop in some simple seats as/where needed (like a bass boat)
I think about the carnage when one of the rear riders on the wrecker falls under the huge tires.
@@JT_70 Matt Straps for makeshift seatbelts. =)
Matt your videos are better than anything on the discovery channel. Keep up the good work with your great family and crew! Thanks for sharing (venting) and don’t burn yourself out. And you got me excited about your big new thing.
Lady and Ed! Good to see both!
Excellent, I love seeing the work in the shop. Then seeing it on the trails. The kids you have working are pretty impressive. They all have a bright future in whatever trade they settle with.
A darn good yr, cool projects and the fact that most of your crew are kids says a lot for you. Happy New yr and I'll be watching for whatever is next
You're crew is great. Everyone.
Where's Tom Tom when ya need em.
I love watching Matt and Kaitlyn work together the why he treats her like she is his daughter it’s awesome
I didn’t know that she wasn’t his daughter? I’ve been watching the channel for awhile but I haven’t figured out all the relations yet 😅
@@nobrakebrett, Katelynn is the daughter of a friend of Matt’s. (Kevin?)
@ okay! Thanks for letting me know!
Morning from Suffolk UK.
Good morning from Dallas Oregon!🌞
Good afternoon to you sir.
Afternoon from another Suffolk uk person 👍
I really liked the quiet “stuff on your mind” session at the end of the video. Thanks for sharing.
And it sounds like you have invited Paul Cox to The Games. I hope to see you two have fun together again.
I watch this channel specifically for Matt. He is the glue that can hold all the chaos together. And he is funny as all get out whistling Christmas tunes
Excellent content with excellent people! I really appreciate no foul language, and the true positive attitudes and personalities as well! Congratulations to you all and may God Bless you all always! Take care and keep up the great work team!
Every video is better when Ed is around!!!
Missing Tom Tom. He would be a great shop manager. I know he has his channel and all, but you guys are a great duo.
I can’t wait to see the SpudTruck rip across the dunes on a recovery!! When it’s finished I know it’s gonna be a beast. Y’all are awesome MORR crew!! 😎
Matt, you should and probably are extremely proud of your boys! I enjoy watching you teach the boys to be good men! Of everything you present in your videos… watching your boys become a product of your mentoring is impressive and inspiring. I am jealous to an extent that you have given your family the opportunity to learn your trade . I am a mechanic at heart and also try to show my boys how to wrench, …. Just wish I had the time and space platform you have. GOOD FOR YOU. I’d like to see you show how proud you are of them… watching you videos over the years, I am proud of them
18:58 Kaitlyn is soo jazzed about 6x6 mode activation 🤩
Matt, I'm glad you got the air horn. I was one that suggested it, I don't think the only one. You will have lots of fun with it.
Hopefully you will never find out how valuable an air horn is in a life or death situation.
Keep em coming Matt, your doing a great job moulding the crew and the shop
See if you can call Tom Tom back into the business, he'll make a great shop manager + he's hands on.
Tom-Tom would be a good shop manager!
Thanks for the metric conversion! 😊 I don't miss any video, and while I'm grateful for the weather in Celsius conversion on the screen, nobody bothers with any other number 😅
@6:03 clean with pure acetone after using the wirebrush, also be sure not use any degreasers not meant for weld prep or anything chlorionated like brake clean what unless stated might be chlorinated (that might generate chlorine gas when welding) also a dedicated wire brush just for aluminium is good
Stainless wire brush 👍
Put a drop of hot glue on those relays to hold them in place or maybe a piece of foam to push them against the housing.
Good video and thanks for sharing the hard work that goes into running this business and crew. Can't wait to see the Spud truck doing its thing on the dunes and sand!
Years ago when the first Johnny lightning Winder towing banana was produced you said you had a nice Johnny lightning collection. I’ve been waiting very patiently to see this collection. I’d love to see your collection. Thanks Matt
Props to jake coming in clutch with the tire science, seeing Matt trying to brute force that thing was funny
Matt you're cool and collected when so much is going on under your jurisdiction. You are a good role model.
❤❤❤ Matt I think your doing amazing with your team and all the work your doing.
I personally think your kids are great fabricators. Kahlin and Rett are both good thinkers. I do think you may be hard to work for. Not because you are a bad guy but you have a picture in your mind and you like things the way you like them. Trust me, I have the same problem. They just want to please you. Loosen the rope. Let them do some things wrong, kinda like you have for years. You can always cut it back off and redo it. That's how we learn.
There are three videos that I look forward to and don't miss, yours, Fab Rats and Robby Layton. You are all quality people with good hearts.
SOMETHING REALLY BIG ???? I can hardly wait....... Love the show.
Matt, you have a lot to be proud of you have a great family and Kaitlyn is a real good addition to your family anyhow, your boys are doing a very good job. I really appreciate their energetic demeanor and you are extremely good at what you do. This is six in a row.Jim from Kennerdell pa
I see where Kaulin got his habit of checking fuses last.😂😂😂😂
Matt, its always great to watch your channel and over just a few years you have exploded in shops and projects. Now you could try not grabbing every new thing that comes to mind and slow down a little. The world is not ending in a year.
2:30 yeah someone tried to fix it, by checking the fuses, when you weren't looking. They didn't replace the fuses properly.
Buggeration factor !
Relays
@SverigeiSverige thanks
Loving this build. And again, someone(Mr Matt) needs to buy Kaitlyn some boots
Tom Tom would be an excellent shop manager. He knows the operations of your business and would still give him an opportunity to work on Dig Dug, etc.
For a voice problem due to colds or other, you can use turmeric and ginger ! Very effective and soothing. Love your videos ! Thanks Matt, greetings from Switzerland, and happy holydays to you your family and all your crew
Keep up with the good work love watching your videos on UA-cam God bless an happy new year when it comes
Happy New Year to your wonderful crew Matt, it's great to see your leadership in mentoring all these fine young ones!😊
Good morning! That 6x6 gets up and goes while sounding good! 👍🏼
I think you do one heck of a job Matt. You've got a lot of irons in the fire all the time but you always get things done and quite successfully I may add. Keep doing what your doing.
9:25 Jefe nearly lost a family jewel!
😄
Or two
Don't sweat the electric fan, it's the best decision I've made for my truck, and my buddy put a couple on his 73 Omega. Both run cooler, and you get less drag on the engine, increasing hp, mpg, and your waterpumps life span. Nice work on the big blue👍
If it will survive the heat in the sand dunes
I haven’t had a rig that would handle it yet
Growin pains Matt.. they are a pain, but a good one. And the boys really have been stepping up latwly
Tom Tom for shop manager. He can include his own stuff and two channels operate out of the same shop. In free time Tom goes on his own.
multiple problems are called compound problems, good rear steer fix Matt !
Watching kaulin and matt work together. He lets him figure stuff out, it reminds me of him and rudy nd rudy is a hell of a fabricator. so this is cool to see
It would be really nice to see Paul Cox at the wrecker games. I hope he comes!
cant blame him. theres a lot of liability when youre building a jalopy and having an amateur drive it up a mountain through a crowd of people
Yes, of course you have some importent points Matt.
