this is for the 1.8l not the 1.4l turbo or chevy crust lt...the theromstat housing for that is located on the left side next to teh headers, two of 3 bolts are accessible and you will need an 8 mm wrench to get to the last bolt. its easier if you have the wrachet type but you will still need your basic wrench to do the last few turns.

Thanks for posting this great video. I was wondering what your error code was? I got P0328 on my 2012 1.8L last April and it went away after the thermostat was replaced. I'm getting the error again 1 year later. Is it possible for thermostat housing to fail again so quickly? Really appreciate the feedback!

You should tell what kind of engine this it...My Cruze is a 2012 1.4L turbo and my thermostat is on the left side of the engine.....I think the 1.8L is what your working on..

Agreed. My 1.4 L has the oil filter more to the right passenger side and therm on the other side

Good video but a torque wrench might be a good idea

On my Cruze the sensor connector on top of the thermostat is stripped. Do you think this could also make the CEL turn on? How would you replace that cable and where do you find it? Thanks! Great vid !

I replaced the plastic housing and thermostat, now need the o-ring that goes on the metal pipe under the thermostat housing, but just cant seem to find what part # it is, or what its called, I ordered one on amazon called "Oil coolant pipe gasket" but seems way too wide (about .2"), I tightened lightly because its flat wall ring and not a donut shaped o-ring, so it leaked because it seems to kink. where did you find the oring that worked for you?

My thermostat is on the left side of the engine in just about the same location in reference to yours on the right. Do you have your camera inverted or something?

@@ridgerunneroffroad9393 nvm i found the reason why my check engine light is on because my thermostat is stuck on open ... ..the fan kicks on when simply warming up the car
